Sui Dreams In Purple

Right of the bat its a fruity watery explosion to me. The pear and kiwi add that tart fruity touch which really makes this perfume unique. It starts to mellow out with the floral and vanilla elements which create a sweeter aroma. As the dry down continues it becomes.... almost like a sweet boba tea drink! I can't explain it but there is this intoxicating earthiness that reminds me of black lychee iced tea! If dreams in blue is for your fairy type girls then this is your bratz doll kind of scent. This is Jade's kiwi shampoo (if you catch my reference). Its fun, fruity and flirty. It has all the energy of a 00s fashionista. I absolutely adore the tartness of this scent, its what really sets it apart. I have many anna sui perfumes and as per usual they tend to grow on me overtime! This scent is certainly worth your while if you love fruity blasts!

The bottle shape for this perfume is so darling. I bought it before I even knew what it smelled like. It's hard to place but for me it's like pink musk sticks and the bottom of the coolest girl in school's big jingly jangly handbag. Somehow synthetic but oh-so-endearing and yummy. I can't stop smelling my wrist.

So yeah...I bought this Sui Dreams even before Fragrantica has listed its notes here. ;) (TK Maxx rules! :D) The fact is without a notes pyramid it was really hard to put my finger on what I was feeling, this fragrance is so well blended. Now I'm surprise I see fruits in it. For me it was strictly flower fragrance. Nothing like the first Sui Dreams which is definitely more sweet. In Purple is delicate and fresh. There is another fragrance from Sui house which came to my mind while I was looking for comparison and it's Dolly Girl, the very first one. Sui Dreams In Purple will please all delicate fragrance lovers, who appreciate gentleness and romantic side in perfumes and like to feel nicely dressed with it for their own pleasure more than showing off with a fragrance. ;) (yes, it does mean that sillage and longevity are rather poor :D, still, it's worth buying:))

A soft and comforting sweet scent. I like to wear it casually at home. It creates a pleasant and a bit dreamy mood.

A light, fruity floral that is soft, bright and refreshing. instead of juicy fruitiness it’s watery without being thin, like the kiwi and pear were augmented to have the juice/water ratio of a watermelon.The overwhelming image it conjures for me is sleek wet hair fresh out of the shower having just been washed and softened by colourful fruity shampoo and conditioner and given a cold rinse. As you leave your hair to air dry it cools your scalp as water evaporates from it, drying in silky soft and shiny perfumed strands. This is the pretty clean floral smell that lingers in a bathroom after a luxurious, reinvigorating shower. it’s rather synthetic smelling, soapy adjacent but a little more lush, like a feminine shower gel that promises not to overly strip your skin and has a swirl of flower petals printed on the bottle. It makes me feel clean, calm and cute. Not sure if I would wear this out because it does lean a little immature. But projection isn’t too strong so maybe if you wanted to give the impression of being squeaky clean and flirty you could give this a try. Longevity isn’t great but it’s not overly complex so it could definitely be reapplied as needed. This isn’t exactly a perfume to me, it’s a slightly stronger body spray you can reach for midday to freshen up if you live somewhere warm and wish you could grab a shower but can’t yet. I remember being in a supermarket in south east Asia and seeing cheap, fresh, feminine body sprays labelled as being “shower to shower” fragrances and that is very much the vibe of this. Spray it on in the morning to prolong that shower fresh smell, in the middle of the day as a booster, and at the end of the day to refresh yourself either after or instead of a cool second shower. This doesn’t possess enough of a distinct character for me to really class it as a proper fragrance but more of an add on to a personal hygiene routine alongside shampoo, body wash and antiperspirant or even in the domestic hygiene realm of room scents and fabric softener. it's not any more sophisticated than the fragrance profile of a product you could find somewhere in the personal care aisle of a supermarket. I am charmed by Anna Sui packaging, it’s whimsical and opulent in a cheeky way but to be completely honest I’ve always found the brand’s makeup and fragrances themselves to be a bit...toy like? both in appearance and performance. I think the playfulness is a bit too literal as the scents and cosmetics, while being bright and colourful and fun, don’t have the most impressive wear time or textures. accordingly, I’d describe this fragrance as cute, simple, fresh and fleeting. A safe blind buy but probably because there isn’t a whole lot going on here. you can definitely find something similar elsewhere and for less.

Expected it to smell more girly but it smells more mature than what I would've liked. Is not a scent I would actively reach out for although the packaging is cute. It kind of smells like a garden. Maybe it's the sandalwood but it's earthy as someone has mentioned before.
