Hanging dried herbs for an urbanite The initial short-lived blast is a joyful green bergamot+sweet absinth accord that sets up the stage for a slightly nostalgic, rich green leather accord that is to come next. Imagine taking a bunch of herbaceous wormwood, bitter galbanum and sweet-spicy tarragon with its anisic undertones and combining them together into a bundle. This is the most prominent accord that is complemented by mosses and woody notes. This might sound dated and unwearable but Zworykina decided to freshen this base with basil and summery neroli+orange blossom, add a floral heart, round edges with a big dose of iris and accentuate sweet, creamy aspects. The result is the most wearable of the five fragrances in her "Leather" line: a sweet-green leather fragrance. In terms of wearability, it could be easily sold by Comme des Garcons but in terms of quality and richness leaves them miles behind. CdG's very own galbanum-forward green fragrance "Copper" smells flat and uninspired when compared to Revenge.

At first, I wasn’t too crazy about this. I thought it smelled like iodine or something - in fact it first came off to me as a sweaty person covered in iodine. After I wore this sample a few more times I really grew to love it. Not that this will appeal to many people but it smelled like straight flavored smokeless tobacco. And I eventually grew to really love this. There are so many notes to this fragrance that make it much more complicated to really break apart than I had the time to do, but I definitely will purchase this sometime in the distant future. It’s fairly strong, but not overpowering.

I am a big fan of this line. Initial blast: smoke and cola. Be patient. The dry-down reveals a lush leather-tobacco perfume beautifully balanced with floral and herbal tones. Gorgeous. Potent. Unique. Well-crafted. Enjoy.

Green bitter herbal wormwood in the opening, it reminds me of the wormwood note in Memoir Man, along with noticeable birch tar. This opening is followed by a noticeable fleshy white floral accord that leans towards lily rather than jasmine or tuberose along with a powdery iris note and an accord that gives me an impression of dead roses. The website mentions a “hot asphalt” accord as well, and I totally get that in a smoky balsamic way. There is a noticeable tobacco and some anisic tarragon. There is also a dusty woody note of patchouli and a creamy sandalwood note. The fragrance moves to chypre base with prominent oakmoss and a touch of vanilla. A very melancholic fragrance in my opinion.
