Sea Foam

Just received a sample, and it will have to become a fb. Sea Foam is very soft and mild. At first I thought it was similar to Switch No 0, but compared and it's not at all. Where No 0 is a colorful bouquet of fragile petals, Sea Foam is much smoother. Different notes are harder to pick out. Like Golden Lavender, but smells nothing like it. I have really longed for smooth perfumes like this, that can just be comforting, in the background. It's so much easier to find good ones that command attention, take over the room. This one will just support you. Edit Sept 23, 2016: Oooh, the tonka is soo gorgeous as the weather gets colder! A soft warm cloud and not too sweet as tonka usually gets in perfume. Edit Feb 22, 2017: Endless surprises as the seasons change. When winter came, I, too, could smell the coconut everybody is talking about. And it also got sweeter. Edit July 10, 2017: My partner never tried this, I assumed it too sweet and "feminine". How wrong I was! After the beautiful bitter initial blast the tuberose blossomed on him in the most gorgeous way, couldn't keep my nose away from him. I've been wearing this a lot this summer and it changes dramatically with the temperature. On hot sunny days, it's a beautiful sweet tuberose-coconut bomb (that's coming from somebody that doesn't normally like sweet or coconut. Possibly the massoia gives the "idea" of coconut, without the downfalls?). On colder rainy days, the cassis rules, leaving the tuberose under a thick bitter-green blanket.

An absolutely unexpected miracle! In fact it was so unexpected that for some confusing time I slowly and carefully was trying to playback my memories to understand if I mixed the samples up. Happily I didn’t. And I’m glad to report the perfume is beautiful. You’ll find there every thing mentioned in the description, and even more! What is unexpected in here is complete absence of those dense, thick, meticulously blended bases of which Anna is pure genius and of wich I’m so fond of. Neither you’ll find any sharp, bitter, sonant beginning, not at all. And in the mood the fragrant mist carries there’s no inner tension, no storm of passion, not in the least. SeaFoam is absolutely lack of powerful emotions: what emotions does sea-foam feel, what on Earth problems at all can any sea-foam have?! And this one is just like any other: rolls lightly on the warm shore, rustles tiniest seashells, that are like grains of sand themselves, and slips back into the sea giving a light lick to your feet on it’s way. Moist greenish beginning, flowers after that and then... COCONUT! I could not even imagine I would tolerate any coconut around me. A coconut aroma? Yuck! - Ha! Little did I know.. As it turned out the problem is not in the idea itself; as often happens it is in execution and skills of executioner.. If made carefully, with materials of fine quality and by the right “nose”, a coconut could be delightfully carefree. Commercials for “Bounty”chocolates (those nasty sticky bars with something like raw potato inside and coco flavoring) were definitely prophetic – A Taste of Paradise! Except for those chocolates are a sweet nightmare and this Sea Foam is an ideal summer dreamy perfume. It is careless and lazy as if not only the summer is beginning, but even the life itself is just started. But I still cannot quite recover after such an unexpected turn : Zworykina and suddenly ... coconut! Unexpected and twice as great because of that!
