Tomo

Very understated and elegant in a simple way. Tonka-sweetish with a noticeable lavender note and comparatively moderate sillage, this one is for those who don't wear perfume because they feel the need to immediately grab other people's attention. "Intimate" is indeed a good word to describe this scent. "Tomo" apparently means "friend" in Japanese, and this is exactly what wearing this feels like - like being in the company of a good old friend, someone around who you feel comfortable, someone who you don't need to try to impress because they know you. After the lavender note disappears, there remains a sweet and musky scent that reminds me of pipe tobacco. It doesn't appear in the pyramid, but I also get a bit of coconut from this. Citruses are practically not noticeable at all, at least for me. This one has grown a lot on me since I first tried it. A beautiful fragrance especially for fall and winter. Wearing it can make me feel as comfortable as sitting by the fireplace, looking at the rain outside.

The very definition of underrated gem, as is the case with pretty much all of the Anayake offerings. Highest quality blends. This one is inviting, masculine yet soft. Lavender with a softer tobacco married to a certain combination of spices, particularly sage and an unmistakable rosemary, with an amber and tonka backbone, blended masterfully. It is familiar, yet distinctive. Impossible not to like this, and it will work in pretty much any circumstance, though it works best in cooler climes in which the the sage and rosemary notes emerge. Upon drydown, one is left with an almost creamy, almost gourmand, yet somehow barbershop freshness, like if we imagine the most upscale barbershop shave, if that makes any sense. Longevity is mid-range, I would say, with a solid five hours, and likewise the sillage is mid-range, with a solid one to two feet of fragrance bubble. Perfect for rides on the elevator, and buxom Betty from accounting might just offer a compliment.

It‘s my signature scent and the fragrance that made me start collecting. Warm, sweet, spicy and aromatic. Citrus and lavender opening with more musk, tobacco, sage and tonka bean in the dry down. Love this fragrance for the colder months and even wore it on some cooler summer nights. The projection is good but not really good enough for clubbing, though I have used it for that and it worked. Great for datenights. Longevity is around 10h for me. The bottle feels high quality and looks unique. The atomizer is very good. Cap doesnt click into place but sits pretty securely. I bought it at retail for 80€ (yikes) but the discounter pricing is pretty good (40€). Scent: 10/10 Projection: 6/10 Longevity: 8/10 Versatility: 7/10 Price: 8/10 Overall: 7,8/10

I usually don't test the men section in a store due to its 97% heavily strong smelling fragrances. But this one caught me by its unordinary tall simple and classic Flakon. For me this fragrance can be worn by male and female. Its lavender is calming and the citrus keeps it fresh. The musk is subtle. It is a manly, slightly bitter smell with subtle sweet feminine grace. This contradiction makes it interesting and attractive. I am drawn to this fragrance because it has a calming effect on my senses.

I don't know my way around men's fragrances yet, but I absolutely loved this when tried at the store to the point of wanting to wear this myself. After a while, the paper sample got really sweet - I guess that was the tonka and benzoin coming through. On my skin it didn't get so sweet. I'm just so glad it doesn't have any leather notes in it. The combination of lavender, sage, rosemary, coriander and tabacco is great, it keeps it gentle and clean.

I’m a unisex wearing gal. I find this to be a bit masc for me, personally. Nice and complex enough to be interesting, with a very nice base that reminds me of men I dated in my younger days. Kind of sweet and sour feel to it. I like the aromatic qualities to it, too, from the lavender. For me, I think this could be a man’s goldilocks.

Tomo is a very soft, calming and easy going everyday fragrance. Nothing strong or disturbing smell, just a nice unisex semi-sweet fresh lavender benzoin musk mixture. I really enjoy wearing when I don't want anything complicated feeling around me. Sillage and lasting is moderate.

yes , an oriental woody, very misterious and sensual! I love it! I think is way better than the armani code but it doesn't last long. 2-3 hours on my skin.

Once again the house of Annayake impresses me, it seems their standards are consistantly higher than those of their bigger competitors Kenzo and Miyake. This is a great oriental fragrance with the effect of lavender, tobacco and tonka bean combining to form an excellent, almost suede-like, slightly dusty and boozy note. This could easily be mistaken for a fall/winter release from a bigger brand house like Guerlain for instance. A little smokiness and a touch of bitterness. If you enjoy scents like CH Men Privé, Bvlgari Black and similar slightly boozy scents, this could be your next gem. Moderate projection and pretty good longevity.

A beautiful sweet smell of lavender and tonka bean, smells good and very long, quite a specific smell like a burnt tire, very unique and very nice bottle, I'm happy! I recommend it for those who are looking for something different and amazing. If you like sweet fragrances like Bvlgari, Le Male JPG, it does not smell like Aramini Code !!! you'll like this fragrance for sure. I would recommend!

My first boyfriend had this perfume. We were both sixteen and he was the most beautiful boy I’d ever seen up to that day. I was obsessed with him as only a sixteen year old can be obsessed with someone. This was the fragrance he wore everyday.

I bought it carried by the reviews below. This is by no means dark or mysterious. A very low quality fragrance. It smells like a 15€ cologne and it's an exact match for Armand Basi Basi homme. This has nothing to do with Le male, Versace Dreamer or Bvlgari Black. Those are masterpieces. Disappointment. No depth here. If you're familiar with those two it's also a cross between Jil Sanders Sun and Intenso Ermenegildo Zegna. A light musky bubblegum smell. I' m selling it right away.

A very underrated winter/fall fragrance. Smelling this, the words come to my mind are: classy & elegant. Lavender and tobacco are blended so well, the opening definitely has a wow effect. Being raised in the Mediterranean region, I am normally very skeptical to lavender in perfumes, as I cannot stand harsh synthetic copies. But here I have no problem with that, as it smells natural and goes perfectly with beautiful tobacco accords. Although mentioned in the top notes, lavender lives quite long on the skin. This is for more formal attire, but can also be worn with casual smart clothing or with leather jackets. Scent 8/10 Sillage: 7/10 Longevity: 7/10

Want a modern take on your grandpa's citrus-herbal-lavender cologne that he used after shaving? Tomo is the answer. Starts very vintage, with very clear lavender and citruses and herbs in the second row. Then, I agree with others, reminds me of Armani Code. But Tomo is less sweet and more smoky, also has a tiny hint of bitterness, which seems just right here. In the very end it gets a bit dusty and mossy. It also resembles Versace Dreamer and Bvlgari Black. There is one fragrance that it resembles even more, but I can't remeber it right now ... Will update later.

Deep, sweet, mature, misterious, strong and original. And just a bit spicy, what i think is good. Lavender and tonka bean are the main notes for me,they are well done, not obscuring the other notes. Unfortunately sillage and longevity are a joke, even when sprayed on clothes. Well blended and worth having, but really overpriced. Overall manly, intriguing and elegant, but i can ́t say i am in love with it. Note:8/10

Very flowery, sweet and a tad smoky as well. You can clearly smell the benzoin musk base in it. What I don't get that much are the citrus notes. Tomo is quite on the sweet side and pretty gourmand. If you like a good lavender benzoin combination highlighted by the spiciness of coriander you won't be disappointed with this scent. Quality made.

I'd say this is a more upscale version of Versace Dreamer. It's very sweet, but not quite gourmand. Tonka and lavender are the main players here. This could make for a laundry detergent vibe, but there are also some earthy notes in the background to ground the composition. The end result is a sweet, clean and natural smell. Quite unisex.
