Rose Absolute

This isn't quite as rose-centric as I was expecting, but it's still a very nice perfume, especially for the price (I think I picked up a 3.4-ounce bottle for about $20 on a discount site with a coupon). It reminds me a bit of some of the fruitier florals that are popular now, like Givenchy Irresistible Rosy Crush (or whatever that flanker is called). Unlike some of the other popular rose scents, though, this one has very little (if any) patchouli. I like the iris note, too, which I think might account for some of the comparisons to La Vie Est Belle, although this doesn't really smell much like that on account of the very different base (e.g., no patchouli). Pretty bottle and a functional cap, too--that seems like a minor detail, but it's surprising how many big, expensive brands can't get that one detail right.

This reminds me ever so slightly of Mon Guerlain Bloom of Rose, and a bit of La Vie Est Belle en Rose and Idôle, but it doesn't have a patchouli note, which I appreciate (I don't always hate patchouli, but I'm very selective about it). I'd say this is a safe blind buy if you like a sweet but not overly gourmand rose, fresh but not too green. I know the sandalwood can't be real, but it's a very nice synthetic, whatever they're using. The wood and vanilla notes sing on my skin more than the praline, which I'm glad about. I'm tired of dessert roses.

Love this fresh and fruity green rose 🌹 I wasn't expecting freesia in the notes, and I can't say I detect it distinctly. This reminds me very much of Secret de Rochas Rose Intense, another fresh rose I adore. Not a copy, just the same family. Love, Anne is not as sweet as the Rochas, and Anne is more floral and musky. Also reminds me of LVEB without the patch. Not super lasting, and more intimate sillage, but for the price that's not a deal breaker for me. Thanks, Anne!!

I stumbled upon a gift set with a body lotion and shower gel for $15 at Gabriel Brothers. I was so excited!! But the lotion smells "fragrance-free." I'm not mad considering the price, but be aware if you are considering the lone bottle vs. gift set; you might save a few dollars by skipping the set.

if Idole and La Vie Est Belle had a baby. This fragrance is the relative they share. Smells a lot like Sofia from Sofia Vergara as well. Rose, wood, fruit. Maybe that is simple, but I adore it. I don't do much rose at all, but I am obsessed with this fragrance.
