As an ardent enthusiast of their revered Abed, my curiosity was piqued enough to venture into this potent concoction. The mystique of Shaman is its heady overdose of guaiac wood – a note that undulates through the air, wrapping you in a cashmere-like blanket of scent. It struck me profoundly, the way this fragrance speaks without uttering a word, dispensing a significant degree of warmth that's both assertive and generously comforting. Taking on the layering suggestion, I've mixed Jardins Humanistes with Shaman and awaited the alchemy between the two. The result was nothing short of alchemical—my mind entirely captivated by the heightened beauty that danced between the notes. Shaman is not for the faint of heart. It is a testament to the boldness of Anomalia, a brand that seems to understand the delicate line between overwhelming and majestically powerful. “Shaman” by Anomalia Paris was the last chapter in my discovery of the brand, and man, did it leave an impression. It’s like nothing I’ve ever encountered. At first, I was totally thrown off. It hit me with this intense, exotic vibe that was honestly a bit much. Made the smokiness of other fragrances seem like a gentle breeze in comparison. But let me tell you, this scent is a journey. “Shaman” packs a punch with Gaïac wood, Iris, black pepper from India, Magnolia, and Leather. It’s like being teleported to a super fancy cigar room in a Swiss alpine hotel, where the air is thick with the finest cigar smoke mingling with high-end perfume. At first, it’s overwhelming, but give it time, and it starts to reveal these hidden layers, even some floral notes that catch you by surprise. Over time, this fragrance seriously grows on you. It changes so much on the skin, more than any other perfume I’ve tried. It’s bold, it’s brave, and it’s so different from anything out there. Wearing it feels like you’re part of an exclusive club. Anomalia Paris is really shaking things up in the perfume world with “Shaman.” It’s amazing to see a brand be so daring with their creations. One word I never thought I would use to describe an unapologetic smoky fragrance is elegance. Shaman was love at first smell, one of those cases that in a single spray I knew I needed in my collection. Of course I’m bias, bcs I love smoky fragrances, but it’s actually rare to find one that gives me such joy to wear, most prominent smoky fragrances I have a hard time to actually enjoy wearing, often I prefer where the smoke is mixed with resins, etc. Shaman managed to take smoke as a center piece, and dress it up with pure elegance. A big unapologetic guaiac wood is the center stage, I guess a touch of birch tar or cade is also used to amplify the smoky aspects. Alongside the guaiac wood there’s this softest suede like leather accord mixed with a stunning iris note, and that’s it, not complex, just balanced to perfection. There’s this light airy feel that makes this fragrance very wearable and elegant, even in summer heat it behaves quite well to my surprise. This is pure class and definitely went straight to my top smoke perfume list, just brilliant.

Tried Shaman by Anomalia Paris on a whim, and I can't shake it off my mind. It's like this wild, mesmerizing scent that's perfect for anyone who digs the deep, earthy vibe of cigars or the thrill of exploring the wilderness. Reminded me of my adventures in the Canadian wilds—totally unique and unforgettable.

Sicuramente diverso rispetto ad altri "fumosi" che ho avuto il dispiacere di sentire. Sa di sigaro spento su un legno bruciato. E credo che sia quello che i creatori volevano. Per me impossibile da indossare e fastidioso anche solo percepito a distanza di metri. Giusto il fondo non lo trovo malvagio, peccato per i pochi fiori che scompaiono tra il fumo. Detto questo si apprezzano sempre esperimenti simili, ma ormai l'arte profumiera è piena di profumi affumicati direi anche basta.

Imagine you enter an old abandoned house or a mansion. None has lived there for ages. But still - the entrance has that old chandelier covered with dust and oak furniture that tells you the story about the good old times. The air is humid that has soaked the furniture and the air of wood, lacquer and mold is hitting in your nose. But it is not that cool and chilly sense of abandonment, because you sense the smell of charcoal that is still smothering in the oven... The water in the kettle is even hot! A gentle whiff has moved the curtain, but there' s no way the breeze can pass in. A handful of pebbles on the floor with unrecognizable engravings here... some hand-made straw elements there... but no footprints or other marks that a human being has even recently been there. But you still can sense the presence of him. The sense of superhuman, primordial power watching you. The powdery warm sense of a living being here... You don' t know if to be feared or not, but you rest assured that you will be fine. ***This scene was the first that came into my mind when I sensed this perfume. Not anything I can wear on a daily basis but something raising my imagination for sure. Strong sense of wood, charcoal (maybe leather), but the tiny sense of iris is giving that warm powdery human being' s warmth. Could not call it other than shaman.

As I said on my review on narcotic, I absolutely love this type of fragrances, this one is very niche, I know it won't suit everyone but I think the dark and smoky aspect of this perfume is absolutely perfectly executed. I love everything about this one! As I can see, sillage and longevity is this brand's strong suit, and this is what matters the most to me. The other thing that I would like to talk about, is how well they described this smell through words on their website, despite the complexity of this perfume. You can trust them on the description and I absolutely recommend you to buy one of their perfumes on the website if you think it would suit you, do not hesitate !
