Par Amour Pour Lui

This is a true perfume for an old fashioned, but a confident person. Not in a braggingly way but he truly knows himself and does not hesitate to carry it around wherever he goes and he sures spreads a positive energy to everyone around him. It's a nice inviting and laidback smell of leather and hay with a sweetness into it, and then follows up with lavendel and a bit tobacco, eventually having a somewhat refreshing tone. To describe vividly, it takes you several years back to a ranch somewhere in the south and you are sitting there with your mid aged pals smoking cigar and drinking brandy, having a great time talking, laughing, playing poker and whatnot. To give out some pointings though, it can become a little bit to smoky especially when taking a great dose so a recommendation is to have a small amount of sprays. This is also a perfume as i mentioned carried by someone matured, someone who is not as active and impulsive like a teenager or even a young adult in that matter. This means while it smells good, it has a middle aged mans preference of a perfume, and a proud one too. Overall i would say it lasts a great amount of time, may be slightly expensive but me personally i would recommend this as it has a very unique personality that really stands out the ones you would find at your local mall. The sillage is pretty strong so again, decent spraying. A final rate for this would be 9/10, great job Ferrero!👍

It's Or Black meets Fougere Bengale with a leather and styrax amalgamation in the same style as Bel Ami. Aristocratic, and a bit old fashioned but overall, very refined, smooth and welcoming. However, I'd like to add that this isn't a tobacco focused fragrance, but more of a lavender, hay and dusty sandalwood collaboration with nuances of styrax, tobacco, and leather. I also find the sandalwood similar to the likes of Santal Noble. An enjoyable masculine scent that won't garner compliments but will add character and sophistication to an already established gentleman. Best for fall and winter.

Absolute art. I think it's rare to smell a fragrance whose notes are this balanced and suave. Just sweet enough to be inviting, just enough leather to smell a little expensive, all the edges smudged by the aromatics and just a touch of an animalic accord from the hay and musk. I don't typically choose amber-leathers (I like them stinkier >:)) but this one is undeniable. Ferrero is one of the GOATs. I agree with another review linking this to Fougère Bengale. This is less dusty and a little denser from the amber, but in the same ballpark. If you like one you'll like the other.

Hay, tobacco, tarragon, & styrax... One of the "For Him" labelled blends that i would def go for. That hay tough touch is bringing this blend to life with the help of tobacco, styrax, and a touch of tarragon. It whiffs between lavender breeze and hay styrax roughness. I get also patchouli tuned down, with sandalwood powder, vetiver, labdanum, & musk. A beautiful blend indeed that comes to life when it cooled down. Beautiful.

Woody & balsamic, suggesting fougére, tobacco leaf, hay, expensive leather, and with some added sweetness. It recalls Or Black by Morabito.

A fougerie in an amber haze. Opens moist with hay, then bomb lavender, leather, tobacco, immortelle, herbal licorice, styrax balsamic, anise, sweet tonka and chamomile. It evolves into a fine, starched then sweet, dusty, clean and ironed texture with the identifiable carnation. I also get sandalwood and a sweet labdanum omnipresent in the composition. Rather SWEET, mature but discreet, with a classic flavor, more wintery with tobacco, lavender, labdanum that fill the scene.

Old-fashioned fougere that smells like oil. For a decadent heavy smoker in the autumn cold. Nah.

With a rough but stimulating opening, the top crackles like Pop Rocks for the nose, Par Amour tingles in its top notes tingle, smelling at first like Dr. Pepper but soon thereafter, revealing the smell of fresh tarragon leaves and a dry hay accord, quite coumarinic, sweetly agrestic. No sooner than I detect the hay does a tobacco come through on my skin, and I am immediately reminded of SL Chergui. The addition of a styrax-dominant leather does steer this in a different direction than Chergui, which I do appreciate a great deal. It is something I could wear on the first frosty day in late November, as I begin to wear sweaters and hunker down for winter. It has this granular texture; it has the feel of a Seurat landscape painting, pointillist perfume. This is one I'd definitely like to dedicate more time to.

I picked this up in a dish of carded samples in my local fragrance boutique. It was in a Seringa Blanc box, so I was surprised to see this in it. I am a woman and I really like this, it reminds me of Chergui which is one of my favorites. I get mostly the leather, tobacco and hay, but the tonka, sandalwood and musk soften it up enough for me to wear it without smelling like a man. What a pleasant surprise.

The references in the reviews to the 1981 version of Or Black are quite apt. The top and some of the middle notes are very much in the same wheelhouse. This is the black oil note that is often cited as "dangerous". While this turns into an original concoction that took some bravery to publish in this enlightened era, there isn't a world in which I would choose this over Or Black.

Super Dry Leather fragrance. After a blast of clean "white patchouli" to me it smells like leather shoes, and shoe wax, and shoe racks with glade lavender gel déodorant into it... I don't know if I returned the image. Not my kind of leather fragrance
