PARIS: She met him in secret

This is such an underrated perfume! I only discovered it at a boutique in Yellow Springs, Ohio last summer (2018) while traveling with my husband and son. It will forever be a special scent for me because it takes me back to a very happy time. I love leather and iris scents, and this one is a really soft version of those powerhouse notes. The violet leaf isn't too pushy here, and I don't find it obtrusive at all. I layered Diptique Eau Duelle recently and it was heavenly on top of this, just gives it an extra kick of herbal vanilla. But of course, this is also perfect on its own. I sprayed this yesterday afternoon and I still smell it the next morning, so I'm guessing those who say it doesn't last very long have their own body chemistry to blame (??) A good cousin to this perfume might be Valentino Donna for its leather (though it's got rose and vanilla). Donna is a much "stronger" perfume than Paris. For its airy nature, I'd say this is a safe leather to wear in the hotter months (not all leathers are). Too bad this is hard to find now!

I am really liking this! It's a lot warmer on drydown than I would expect from the notes listed - the leather is very warm and not harsh at all. It's very pleasant. in love with this scent but doesnt last AT ALL....i like perfumes that last 12 hours...as soon as i realized this doesnt last, i was online searching for an equivalent that WOULD last a long time...such an amazing scent so it's such a shame it doesnt last.

Perfectly pleasant. Do wish they had left out the violet leaf. Those grass tones are too wholesome for a sexy, secret rendezvous.

I did not know what to expect from "Paris". I was drawn to the packaging, though. Books are something that I've treasured since I was a child. This beautiful bottle came wrapped in a book, complete with a cover page and a story. The bottle had a metro ticket on it; and it did make me feel like I was somewhere else, perhaps in another time. Violet is not my favorite note in perfumes, and I often find it kind of cold and unwearable. However; I was actually pleasantly surprised by the scent of this one, and did not find it difficult to wear at all. Anthropologie stores are very unique, and contain everything from perfumes to sheets. When I enter this store; I think of people that are trendy, and yet also unique. They are chic, but individual. This perfume fits perfectly into that category. "Paris" is like nothing that you would find in a department store, however it's completely wearable. The violet and iris are prominent on me, but it's not cold. Instead; it's warmed by a very non-harsh leather note, and powdery amber. I had this on when I decided to go for a jog. The weather was warm and fairly dry. Surprisingly; this worked well, and the warm wind sent wafts of almost a fruity, ambery leather. This is love! I can see where Alexandra Monet was going with this one. It's dark and secretive, but still completely wearable and lovely. Thank you to Fragrantica for the giveaway.
