Le Jardinier

The Victorian garden... Although i'm not a fan of lilies, but i guess the jasmines are making the lilies blooms! the grass, and the honeysuckle are adding the luxurious effect making this Victorian garden shines with beauty. I recently grew a love relationship with floral specially the white animalic ones and this blend is satisfying my thrusts. The perfumer wrote "The morning after Marie-Antoinette’s big party - the royal gardener tends to the flowers and the aftermath in the Petit Trianon. ānti depicts the scent of ingénue lilies bathing in champagne buckets, and the sharpness of freshly-cut grass. An ode to the care-free decadence, and evanescent memories of last night’s soirée." I believe i can see that scene somehow. Beauty in a bottle.

the opening spray of this is an ode to 4711 cologne and as it quickly dissipates it’s already grabbed me by the heart strings, by doing a small (almost) historically accurate nod to the perfumes of the late 1700s era this one is inspired by ! this dries down into a subtle green scent slightly sweetened by the honeysuckle. if one were to smell too hard it might almost be a bit sickening, it oscillates between not quite yet ripened and bursting with odors. something about this reminds me of toiling in a garden on a hot spring day. the suggestion of moist tilled soil, pollen and nectar, dew cooking off fresh blades of grass. as always, i love corticchiatto’s touch

The "lily stems" from the notes list actually have quite a bit of lily still attached to them. These bewitching flowers, so difficult to capture in perfumery, are conjured up in all their velvety voluptuousness here. There is less sweetness though, magnolia and a vague aldehydic/soapy feeling give a lot of freshness. The greenery is less literal here than in some of the perfumer's other works. Very nice, definitely recommended for people who like crisp green florals.

Masterpiece, fresh cold green lillies. Nothing feminine other than flowers, unisex.

Honeysuckle, magnolia, lilly, sweetness. Delish fragrance. Not for me because too feminine, but would be great on a woman.

How weird or how beautiful it is to wear a green Spring scent during Advent, I let my beloved reade decide. The story of Marie-Antoinette and her jardinier lover is not the images that this perfume conjures up to me. There is such an innocence in it like the primtemps of a young lady. An expanse of green, a meadow dotted with small fragrant honeysuckles. A green-galbanum infused perfume that is not oppressive, nor cold, nor aggressive ( I would not expect less from MAC); this is engenteled by an ensemble of flowers that works well with the sweet, floral, heady, fresh, nectar-like, rich, intoxicating, and nectar-infused honeysuckle. An abstract suggestion of a lys, opalescent; "l[a fleur] que tu croyais surprendre Battit de l'aile et s'envola" A magnolia accord, that reminds me quite a bit of Un Bel Amour d'Eté, spring back and forth between the green freshness of basil and the very subtle floracy of lavender. There should be nettle absolute in there and I am wondering how this differs from that one used in Mal Aimé. As for similarities, I ddo not get Synthetic Nature (former Syntetic Jungle) where the watery stagnant note are very much more accentuated. Staying within Malle, I would say it is far closer to Flechier's Lys Mediterraneé minus the salty-sea breeze. Or even more, this reminds me of Santa Maria Novella's Caprifoglio (Honeysuckle), at least for the floral part. Mnd you that the latter is built around a cyphre construction. Corticchiato proved to be a master of lentisque and its complex, fresh, earthy, and woody olfactory profile. Yet, I am still waiting (desperately) for a realist scent centered on the evanescent purity of white lily and I count on less than a handful of people that can make my dream come true. Another beautiful perfume from Marc Antoine Corticchiato. A green meadow pointed with wild flowers, a wonderful recreation of the honeysuckle Accord so, of you love the scent of honeysuckle, you night want to wear this romantic, carefree composition. The green notes are not sharp at all, so I do not really get the comparison with Synthetic Jungle, and It doesn't have the floral headiness of Lutens' Un Lys. If I was to compare Le Jardinier to another perfume, I would pick "La haie Fleuri du hameau" (L'Artisan Parfumeur) or a lighter version of Diptyque's Olene, so I suspect Corticchiato might have used Narcissus as well in this One. Really delightful 💛💚

I couldn't place it at first and then bam- Floret by Antonia's Flowers. Closest dupe I've come across. If you're looking for a close second to that iconic and discontinued fragrance, this hits the mark. Has that "flower shop refrigerator" photorealism. I don't love it, but I don't like cold florals, and not a big fan of lily, which this for me is the most prominent floral along with magnolia. I find them both to be cold white florals, the resins and the grass add to the coldness. I'm wearing it currently working in my yard at sunrise, it seems appropriate.

A beautiful hesperidic cologne freshness leads into a heart of exhuberant honeysuckle and galbanum and cut grass. Fresh, cut grass, covered in dew and with a cool breeze laden with the smell of fragrant white florals. The best honeysuckle this side of Goutal’s Camille & Patou’s sadly lamented Eau de Patou. But without the chypric mossy ending of the latter, this one just sings and soars like a hummingbird. Exceptionally beautiful.

Gorgeous! This is a very natural smelling bouquet of fresh flowers in a sunny day. Magnolia and honeysuckle are the main notes I can perceive, they are supported by dewy grass/herbal touches. This is lovely! I want a full bottle.

Smells exactly like a flower shop! Cut stems and white flowers. I love the opening, but the dry down is too floral for me. Unfortunate, I really wanted to love this scent! Quite feminine.
