Vanilla, Bourbon & Mandarin

I want to drown in this stuff. On opening, its like the freshest, most luscious mandarine orange has just been sliced, and even before the drops of sweet citrus juice can land, a cloud of sweet creamy vanilla envelopes the fruit and forms a delightful marriage of orange/vanilla..but not in a creamsicle way. While I'm not getting much of the bourbon on my skin, there definitely IS something else there to keep it from being creamsicle... maybe cinnamon ... honey, not sure but wish there was more of it. My only complaint is the longevity is so poor. I literally walk around the house with the bottle because I want to keep this beautiful scent going 24/7 but have to reapply pretty much every hour. I call this my Poor Girl's Zirjoff "Lira" or "Love and Crime". it has that same vibe at a fraction of the cost... but alas the longevity.

I blind bought this, which was pretty crazy considering I'm not really into fruit-y scents. But the concoction sounded delicious & I was intrigued. This is wonderful! Opens with the orange & bourbon. Light but still substantial. The orange settles down & the bourbon gets its turn, not too loud though. Finally I get the vanilla- a VERY GOOD vanilla. And it gets to play with the orange/bourbon coctail. The fragrance is very strong at first, but fades quickly. Practically disappears on my skin after just a couple hours. I find it lasts longer on clothes- and this was surprising- I get a little spice in the dry down on clothes that it didn't have on my skin! I don't find it heavy, or dark. While it's certainly not fresh. It's inviting, SULTRY is a good word! Yes... "Come play with me" it says, with bedroom eyes. Mmmmmmm!

I love the scent of vanilla, bourbon and mandarin oranges, so I was very excited about getting this. This fragrance has the vanilla and bourbon in abundance, however the mandarin is very faint, at least in my batch, that I can't define it at all. But I still love this fragrance and wear it often. It is warm, delicious and inviting. It is long lasting for me and I can smell it throughout the day, so my noise does not get numb to it as it does with other fragrances. It's too bad that Antica Farmacista has been out of the perfume for several months now (end of 2018 beginning of 2019) because I'm almost out of it.

The citrus went away almost immediately though I felt like an orange creamsicle initially. Now that it has settled, there is a seductive smoky and peete smell. I feel like I’m in a dark and jazzy speakeasy drinking an old fashioned. I love that the smokiness gives the vanilla more depth and maturity since I don’t love vanilla as a strong base. I think this could be layered with a little cedar as well. I didn’t expect to live his so much.

From a guys point of a view I see why this is not popular and wonder why it is not more popular in the same breath. Some folks say they prefer naturals ONLY but then complain that naturals don't last as long as synthetics. Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. This is my first time sampling this. It's from a dab on vial not a sprayer and I would honestly say that performance is moderate. I can smell it after 5 hours as it has a light scent bubble. I would say up to 1 foot. Also I can say that it is more geared towards women than men as it has a carnival type of fun vibe to it. Energetic and lively gourmand with a faint hint of citrus. This can be an everyday/signature scent for the right woman easily as it is not overwhelming. I'm not saying that it's a must have but it's a must sample if you want a discreet gourmand that is versatile.

I found this to be a warm spicy darker vanilla bourbon; it is a linear scent yes, with the top of citrus that begins the scent off in a happy way then stays in an orange flavoured delicious vanilla bourbon. Longevity was about 4 hours for me about arms length.

This is the best mix of Vanilla Bourbon and tangerine I've ever smelled, so inspiring, yet comforting and warm. Longevity is awesome and loves all seasons. On my want again!

This scent is like a decadent orange almond cake, sweet and boozy to begin with, laced with bourbon and vanilla beans. . Heaven! It smells so naughty I just want more but unfortunately doesn't evolve and fades away after a couple of hours. It's a fun little spritzer, here for a good time not for a long time.

Bourbon Vanilla doesn't contain any bourbon, people. It's called that because it's from an island (once French-owned) in Madagascar, called Bourbon Island. That being said, it does tend to have delicious layered richness in perfumery that can SUGGEST booze. Just FYI.

The sample I had went on like it’s a bit off but as it dried down I ended up with a wonderful incense-y vanilla richness that I really like. Might have to find more. A good grown up vanilla.
