Anouk

My sister ́s signature scent and a cheap classic from the 80 ́s. Unlike other fragances from the 80 ́s, this one is light, soapy and smells of clean white flowers with an ambery-musky bottom. Light sillage and moderate longevity. Unobtrusive and discrete. Something you can wear in every season and in every time of the day without bothering others and for only 8€-10€ 200ml. I prefer the newer flanker Anouk D ́amour, a flowery citrus with a bit of wood, musk, lilies and jazmin wich is as light and unobtrusive as the original Anouk but a bit more longevous and reminds me of Pivoine by Yves Rocher but much lighter and perfect for hot days. Edit: Recently I bought one bottle of Aire de Sevilla: Primavera and it reminds me of Anouk just more "modern", less soapy and without the powder notes and a little bit of sandalwood. Sweet not in a sickenly sugary way but in a fresh, white flowers way and a bit citric. It shares the same ambery notes, the white flores and the "clean" freshness. Perfect for an everyday, unobtrusive EDT for hot weather and only 10-12€.

The previous version (fluted glass) is a woody tangerine with lotus and clean soapy notes. More interesting than the notes pyramid suggests. Don't be fooled, fruity notes does not mean contemporary sweetness. There's a very soft leather note supporting the woods in the background. So subtle that it's taken me years to spot. I wear Anouk in the Spring. It's really special, I haven't smelled anything like it and it's always held a place in my collection. It's amazing to find something this good at this price point. In the name of stocking up I bought the new bottle (smooth glass). I tested both on different arms. It's a weaker more transparent version, far less longevity but it will be better than nothing.

I had a whiff of this on my friend from Spain in the early 90s and was instantly hooked. It's a bright, happy, scent with real body to it and I couldn't wait to buy it for myself. Unfortunately the newer version does not smell the same as the original. Was such brilliant value. It's unusual for a supermarket type brand to be this good.
