Zinnia is an affordable workhorse for hot and humid summer days. It is nothing groundbreaking but it definitely is worth a try if you like citruses. It has some interesting sweetness and spiciness compared to many citrus scents out there.

I was expecting a citrusy chypre however herbal, rakı/ouzo, watery-floral, animalic, retro and chypre are the keywords keep flashing in my mind testing it every day for a week on skin. While most reviewers mention citrus, I think this is a green/herbal-first fragrance. It's impossible to skip the initial (and persistent throughout) explosion of of anethole (anise) or estragole (tarragon) accompanied with green bitterness that if I had to guess, would say coriander seed and fatty aldehydes. Then you have the citruses, bergamot perhaps, not like zesty citrus rind but more like the floral aspects of bergamot. The contrast with watery florals, namely cyclamen aldehyde is also evident. And something rose-y or geranium. This floral-herbal contrast is what makes it peculiar to me, and smells quite unique. It's like drinking rakı in a Turkish "meyhane" and you got this citrus fruit salad on the table alongside an ornament of pink florals. All this on top of the classic retro chypre profile. Everything together is Zinnia, and I can understand how this was memorable. The combination is distinctive.

A generic, fresh daily EDT very similar to Eau de Rochas, but much cheaper. Not exactly a dupe but very similar. An oldie but still very popular and sold everywhere. Not something I would wear as a daily EDT but very long lasting for its price and wearable in the hottest weather. Some of my friends are fanatics of this stuff but I find it boring and too generic. It does not bother others and it ́s easily forgettable. Excellent for crowded places where you don ́t want to suffocate others with your perfume.

where,s the very similar in style FARALA by GAL? about zinnia typical supermarket eau de toilette of late 80s and early 90s, not bad but too generic, fresh for daily use mostly at working time
