Light

We had Light listed as a Citrus but I've adjusted its category to Citrus Aromatic, as there are quite a few green/herbal aspects to the fragrance as well. If you like what houses like Atelier Cologne are doing, with updated formulas and higher concentrations of fragrance components, you'll want to give Light a try. It's also good if you enjoy the classic refreshment of an eau de cologne, though it packs a bit more punch than the typical cologne or toilet water. You can see it in the fragrance's color and texture--most colognes look like yellow water but Light has a little more density. The cedrat is very strong in the opening. Light is really pure citrus for the first fifteen minutes or so. Very sharp, very tart. A green and herbal edge emerges about fifteen minutes into the fragrance's evolution. I can smell the juniper berry. (I admit, I'm unfamiliar with the scents of aglaia and broom in their purest forms and can't comment on them in the context of this scent.) The cedrat is still going strong well into the green heart. Frankincense is also quite noticeable by the time the heart notes appear and is the last note to leave the skin. The frankincense gives a warm, dry, slightly bitter aroma to the dry-down, which is a nice twist on the traditional eau de cologne formula but refreshing nonetheless. I consider eau de cologne unisex, so Light is unisex to me, too, but I know many people associate the traditional eau de cologne aroma with men. It's definitely a fragrance men will be comfortable wearing. Light has moderate sillage and lasts about three hours on my skin. (Which is longer than a traditional eau de cologne lasts on me, by the way.) Good choice for warm climates and hot summer days, or a nice pick-me-up on a dreary winter day, too.
