Ray Of Light

Aweee, this is a nice one. Opens bright fresh citrus, not too much, just the right amount that makes you inhale deeply and smile. The galbanum is prevalent in the middle and base rendering that natural green slightly aquatic note with a hint of mint rounding it out. It vaguely resembles the brightness of natural version of 7 Up in the opening- the lemon and lime are so juicy and vibrant. The middle is still that lightly sweetened but not sharp ( which I find interesting and quite enjoy it is a smooth citrus) that blends well into the galbanum. It is all anchored into the grounding effect of a mild tobacco at the end. The contrast here is a delight, it brings forth the feeling of the saying" Keep your eyes on the stars and feet on the ground" What a happy scent for summer :) Ps Wrt the "sour " listed above, it wasn't my experience. I asked around, too, you can think of light refreshing and very juicy mojito but remains transparent and grounded in confidence boosting smooth tobacco.

195 I love this, but wish it lasted longer. It’s an amazing citrus and mint blend. So natural smelling, like real citrus skin, flesh and juice. It’s intensely tart, fresh, and minty and well balanced. I liked this better than herba fresca because it’s more realistic smelling. Also, as it dries down, the citrus notes do not become metallic smelling. The quality of the essential oils can be smelled because it’s so vibrant. I’ve smelled brand name, “spa” type, and simple homemade citrus eo scents, and Ray of Light is extremely well done for a citrus fragrance. Opens with a punch and is great for about an hour on fabric. IMO, these kinds of citrus EO scents(also, rose orange) shine and last best in hair. 9/10-Excellent intense citrus with mint made with high quality essential oils.

Where is the vetiver note picture? In the article here on site, Elena gives the perfumer's breakdown of the scent in her words... And since I'm osmagining its integral to the overall green "aura" that inspired the perfume, it would be nice to actually be able to vote on how salient it presents in the fragrance... Please amend above. Thanks

Ray of Light is as dark as a citrus based fragrance can be. When I smell it I always think of the dust you see when the sun is about to set. I like it but is a bit too lemony for my taste.

Hesperidic: Like a lemon tree in Italy. The natural fragrance combines all conceivable citrus notes. This includes not only the scent of lemons, but also bergamot, lime and grapefruit. In addition, there are waves of spicy mint reaching my nose, which almost completely push all the spicy and tobacco-like base notes into the background. Very refreshing, it lifts the mood even more in golden October. Fragrance: 8/10, Longevity: 8/10, Sillage: 7/10.

Must be the tobacco, so energetic and fresh--but something lurking in the base that takes the whole creation down a notch

Lemon. Lemon, lemon, and more lemon. There is a moment as it is drying that it smells like lemon pledge to me. When it is fully dry after an hour or so I can get the Mint noteTobacco not so much. Really does not last too long, and didn’t leap off the skin for me.

Wow - blind buy gone wrong. Reviews misled. It’s instances like this where I’m convinced people are paid to review or only get a little sample spray in a boutique or just fudge the review... Awesome opening of super oily bitter tart lemon rind with woody body and a smidge of mint on top turns after 40 minutes gradually into what smells like a saw dust cedar. Way too overrated. If you like this Houbigant Duc De Vervein Extreme is very similar but with a better price and 18 hour performance...

Some might like this for summer, I am finding it perfect for this darkest part of the winter when the mornings don't brighten until 9-10 am. Perfect with morning coffee. A true mood brightener. Seems like the concentrated fresh grated peels of every strong citrus imaginable, over a base of green, galbanum and mint, green brightening it more but still very light, anchored by a whisper of tobacco. Srsly, a mood elevator in perfume form for those most sensitive to olfactory intervention. Elegantly made, not your usual citrus. A little on the intoxicating side when in it's initial phases.

Every note I love in a fragrance wrapped up in one delicious bottle. It is light and ethereal with the citric notes and at the same time grounded by the earthy tobacco and vetiver. A really beautifully blended perfume. It is a barefoot stroll through a lush lemon tree orchard way up in the hills of central California. Your feet leave imprints in the dirt. Your nose breathes in the clean fruit and the sun shines down on your straw hat.

I am getting the most refreshing ice cold mojito on a summers day when I smell this. About half way through I do get something reminiscent of 7 up sweet lemon lime mentioned earlier--I find the galbanum keeps it transparent and light though. This is a little more playful than my taste but it is still a fresh summer beauty for sure!

Citrus BLAST... this is a lime, lemon, grapefruit cocktail in summertime with some mint maybe and slight tiny bit of dust.

A bright and zesty lemon fragrance remniscent of Profumum Roma's Acqua Viva.
