I loved the corporate identity of the brand and for this reason I had a lot of expectation about fragrances. I can surely confirm that they are special. Azul is an ozonic woody fragrance and the wood used in the essence is of a local plant, the cryptomeria. The scent is delicate but persistent, which is why I use it indistinctly in the evening and during the day. The thing I love most about this fragrance is the use of high quality and natural raw materials. I absolutely recommend it.

Tested this by spraying on my wrist in a store. I got a lot of marine and salty, briny notes with hints of wood and seaweed. Unisex, leaning slightly more masculine. Decent longevity - lasted several hours all the way until I washed it off. A fresh and pleasant smell of the ocean after a storm, but so realistic that I'm not sure if I wanna smell like this myself.

Azul Eau de Parfum was the name chosen for one of the fragrances launched by the brand Aqua dos Açores in 2019. The creative concept speaks of the smell that comes from the winds that cross the intense blue oceans, and from the woods of old sailing ships, floating in the sea, steeped in salt and storms. Azul Eau de Parfum’s fragrance is produced in Italy and carries ozonic notes, marine accord, and bergamot, at the start. In the body, notes of clary sage, woods, bourbon geranium, lentisk, and jasmine. In the bottom, notes of ambergris, woods, davana, cryptomeria, and opoponax. ** Aqua dos Açores guarantees that the composition has natural essences of the following ingredients: cryptomeria, geranium, sage, lentisk, bergamot, davana, and opoponax. Before commenting on skin performance, it is worth clarifying a few points. Lentisk, also known as mastic, is the gum obtained from the tree of the genus Pistacia Lentiscus (of the pistachio family) and its smell is balsamic and fresh. Cryptomeria, on the other hand, is a tree with a dark, orange-brown bark, flowering between the months of September and October and is also known as Japanese cedar, but make no mistake, as it belongs to the cypress family, not cedar. Visually, everything enchants and denotes a simplicity of great taste. On the skin, the fragrance of Azul Eau de Parfum behaves like aquatic-woody and its drying has a slightly oily aspect. The starting point is very refreshing and brings light floral nuances, in addition to a subtle fruity tone of melon. Sometimes it seems like a seaweed smell tries to come out, but it doesn't sustain itself. From the beginning, the presence of woods is quite evident, and I feel a great volume of Iso E Super, with its velvety facets and light woods, like cedar. However, I may be mistaken, since there is nothing officially stated about the use of such a molecule. Azul Eau de Parfum ends up not having much evolution on my skin and this disappoints me a little, since the composition is promising, with balsamic and sweet notes of sweet myrrh (opoponax) and all the aromatic content of davana. And while innovation is not a pre-requisite for fragrances within the independent or niche segment – a common mistake many make –, I still envisioned a fresher, more mineral composition. In the end, Azul Eau de Parfum seems to me to be a kind of hybrid fragrance, a combination of some Summer edition by Issey Miyake with Molecule 01, by Escentric Molecules. But calm down! I'm not saying this in a derogatory way. I just want to try to draw an idea that will make it easier for those reading this review now. Even because, both brands mentioned are very successful in the fragrance business. Finally, a tip: Azul Eau de Parfum seems like the ideal perfume for sunny days and extreme heat, but it's not, because the natural content quickly disappears. The best results I got were on cloudy and muggy days when the duration was much longer.

Very herbaceous, sharp at the beginning, with lots of Ambroxan (synthetic ambergris) in the base. It does lack a slight sweetness on top to balance it out, and I am not sure but there is nothing here that reminds me of any sea notes or that would evoke those places for me.
