White Cotton

Hey, first review. I originally sampled it blind without looking at any of the notes, it's a truly photorealistic scent of putting your face in a freshly laundered cotton bath towel. Amazing, no notes. Well yeah, pun not intended I really don't get any of the notes listed—except for maybe a little lime-orange in the form of the detergent scent part of this frag—but I like it that way. Simplistic, natural/realistic, clean. I loooove. Now that I own it it's basically my signature scent, my easiest, stone-cold braindead reach... I love it because It's just so safe and comforting. Anyone who's lived in a hot humid climate knows the feeling of wanting to smell as clean as, well, fresh white cotton. It's perf for everyday wear, it's actually my school scent. Performance is fine, the pricing is nice!, and the bottle is pretty, stylish, cool glass with a curve to it, and the little glass marbles are cute (and make cute shiny noises when they clink as you move the bottle around). I do have some small warnings though: 1. This isn't some musky warm skin-and-laundry fragrance: You Will Smell Like A Towel. The musk just sort of sets the texture and plain towel scent, it really doesn't smell musky at all... just straight up bath towel. In this way, it is rather sterile, unnatural (a very non-natural, inhuman scent emanates from your skin), and a bit cold (emotionally). 2. The laundry-detergent smell is quite photorealistic, soapy in the truest sense of the word, balsamic, a little salty, and very noticeable, taking centre stage before the scent settles (like 15 or more mins, I dunno it depends). It really depends how much you spray but it can be a bit harsh on initial application, so I wouldn't recommend this fragrance to those who are headache-prone. But yeah, it’s kinda like the process of doing laundry: mostly laundry detergent at first, and then later from underneath, your clean fluffy bath towel will emerge, the scent of detergent lingering in the mesh of the fabric. These factors aren't problems for me at all, I like it like that... just things for you to consider. Update, here's my small anecdote: I reapplied this between classes and two girls walked in the bathroom before I left. One of them said "the bathrooms usually smell so crappy, but this one smells freshly cleaned." And the other girl agreed. It hadn't been freshly cleaned. Also by "reapplied" I mean I sprayed White Cotton on the back of my hands while standing inside a closed stall. Everybody stand up and clap in unison Thank you Aqua Savon I have always wanted to radiate cleanliness.

A very detergent, soapy-like scent; the citrus definitely comes off strong. On me, it dries down without amber, nor is the musk very noticeable. The impression it gives off is a nice, clean, freshly washed sheet hung out to dry. It's less powdery musk and more soapy aldehyde. It does not last very long on the skin, but I definitely recommend spraying it on clothes to make it last longer and to give it that extra laundered punch. If sprayed on clothing, I'll say it lasts about 3 hours. Aqua Savon's product line has a very Frutiger Aero vibe to it, from the clear marbles in the bottle to the sheer blue colour gradating into clear packaging. It's a slim and tall bottle, with subtle waves/curves in the glass that fit together perfectly with another.
