Spleen

I bought this on my first day in Florence at the Aqua Flor store. I was definitely over excited to arrive in florence for 4 days of smelling fragrances and probably bought this on impulse. But I love it! I don't reach for it that often, but when Im in the mood for it, its a beautiful, sophisticated blend and a unique, fresh fragrance. very very pretty. What an odd name though. @alfarom I laughed so hard at your 'incense and salad' reference because I totally get what you mean! But somehow I smell the same thing in a good way, with a ton of other good elements. It reminds me a smidge of acqua di gio, probably due to the absinthe note which is the airy fresh and slightly minty vibe (probably where alfarom gets the salad vibe?!). It's a great summer scent, very pretty, airy, clean and fresh with a depth of sophistication. I'm very happy to have it on my shelf.

Absinthe is very obvious on initial spray then goes away pretty quickly, drying into a sweet and resinous incensey smell. I don't get anything especially green after the absinthe accord fades, but it is good, and for something this incense-forward it doesn't come off as too heavy and I agree it could be worn in the Summer. Nice, underappreciated scent. Edit: Performance-wise, projection was light with a moderately detectable sillage for about 2 hours, and it made it to around the 7 hour mark as a skin scent before becoming effectively undetectable.

Spleen, inspired by Baudelaire, is supposed to smell like absinthe, incense and guaiac wood. It sounds incredibly interesting on paper but I'm afraid it ends up smelling like a bitter combo of incense and salad. Seriously, incense and salad. Weird but not in a good way. Rating: 4/10
