Blue Sugar

There are some male perfumes that I like to wear myself but I don't.lets say I didn't I have three aquolina perfumes,pink sugar,gold sugar and chocolover.I love all three so I decided to collect others Unfortunately aquolina perfumes aren't popular in my country and they're not available in shops or sites.but I saw blue sugar in a perfume shop and from that day I'm dreaming about it.I know it's for men but look at the notes.cotton candy,licorice,staranise,tonka and lavender are my favorite notes and lots of reviews said that it's wearable for women too.also I heard it's discontinued so it was a bargain(a 100mil unsealed bottle for 40$)so I ordered it When I first sprayed it I felt sick.it was one of the worst and most disgusting smells I've ever experienced.maybe it had changed because I can't believe a perfume to be this much bad smelling.it was like a sticky mixture of sour and sweet rotten fruits(mostly rotten grape to be specific) and dirty patchouli doused in alcohol that was shadowing the real scent and it's not a matter of skin chemistry,it's like that when sprayed on clothes too I'm proud of myself because of being very brave for tolerating those 30 minutes.that disgusting smell starts fading so that after another 15 minutes most of it is gone.now I can smell licorice,staranise,tonka and lavender.it's a heaven of dark powder,reminds me drydown of Lolita lempicka.I really don't find it very sweet,maybe because I can't detect any cotton candy yet,but I agree blue sugar can be considered unisex I passionately hate it's initial phase also love it's drydown so I don't know what's my feelings about this blindbuy.unfortunately initial phase makes ny stomach turn and I have difficulty trying not to scrub on the other hand it's drydown is a licorice,powder heaven and seems to be addictive.longevity and sillage are both very good I wish something changes after some time Edit: I gave it to my husband and things seem to be very different smelling it on someone else Now I thing there's nothing horrible here and it also hadn't turned I always have difficulty handling presence of syrupy sourish notes in sweet, heavy fumes (I have such a problem with manifesto, lancome la vie edp, ungaro fruit gold) First phase of blue sugar that bothers me is a combination of bergamot and mandarin orange with patchouli and sweet notes and a dash of coriander.these citrus notes seem to be not prominent for others but to my nose They rule over first hour of application and I can't Tolerate their presence though I can stand it on my husband We both think that this is a very unique and complex scent for men and not overly sweet.I don't know anything similar branded for men so if you're looking for an interesting combination of sweet and spicy notes with some citruses and powder give it a try It's very potent.longlastinh and great projection

Review from a Female/31y.old... I got interested in buying this, because of the similarities with Loverdose from Diesel. I ́ve always wanted to try Loverdose since the day it came out, but I haven ́t had a chance yet. So I bought this from Ebay Germany for only 6,90€ / 50ml !!! When I first spray it, I get licorice! Alot of licorice. As if you open a bag of real strong licorice and take a big sniff. After some minutes the Anis kicks in, but the licorice is still dominant. Then the sweetness comes and I can defenetly smell some manly Cedar Notes (or is it Coreander???) The licorice calms down after a while and blends perfectly with the Anis and the sweet candy notes. In my oppinion this is a Unisex Fragrance. The manly notes are not dominant. It is harsher than Pink Sugar, but there are alot similarities, you can smell that they ́re from the same family. It ́s a sexy mens fragrance, girls would love it! But it ́s also a sultry, kind of oriental, candy-ish womens fragrance. (Especially if you like Licorice!!!!) I also find that it ́s a scent that "grows" on me. The more I use it, the more I sniff my wrists, the more notes I can identify. It changes during the time you wear it. The longer you wear it, the more it settles down and fits to your body chemistry. I like it alot and I am kind of falling in love with it the more I wear it.

I found BLUE SUGAR in search for any masculine Cotton Candy frags. I definitely was not disappointed with this one. It is a great find. I don't know why Aquolina has discontinued this frag.. it seems to have a following for sure. I think it is because Cotton Candy is rarely ever used in mens perfumery, and it is done great here. Upon the opening I get the bergamot citrus with a definite cotton candy accord that never really goes away throughout the life of the frag (which I love). The mid the licorice/anise come out, and then the dry-down is very vanillic (probably from the Tonka). I found it quite similar to the womens version PINK SUGAR, but because of the Patchouli in BLUE SUGAR it makes it just a bit more darker (masculine). But don't be totally fooled. Upon comparing side by side. I actually find BLUE SUGAR more of a syrupy sweetness, and PINK SUGAR more of a vanillic sweetness. So in this case.. the mens version of this scent is even more sweet than the womens. Very interesting. Love this frag..if it was not discontinued.. I would wear it way more often. Very innovative especially for a mans fragrance wardrobe. I think this is one of the sweetest designer men's frags ever!

I love this perfume but I don't get why it never smells the same on me. When I first bought it, all I got was sweet cotton candy. I loved it! Then a month later I wore it and all I got was pure licorice. Nice, but not as nice as before. Then I wore it to school one day and I was horrified to find I smelled like pure cedar the whole day! It's kinda funny how this changes on my skin. I still really like the scent, but for me it's unpredictable. I really want to try it out on my hubby to see how he smells! Still glad I bought it, but I don't wear it that often. And to comment on the man vs woman aspect, I have to say when I first tried it, I thought, what kind of man wears cotton candy?? But as the scent has evolved over the last few months, I find I get a lot more cedar and I do find the scent more manly now. I guess my perception of it has changed. I haven't smelled it on a man, but I do think it would make him quite yummy without smelling too girly.

I just got this, I managed to find an ebay seller from Italy that sold this for 66 Euros. And the product is still sealed and I think mine is legit. This is for me a totally licorice-ish perfume, and I can detect the anise and coriander as well, but the most prominent note for me is licorice. To be honest this phase doesn't impress me that much, because this is the smell of a candy that my late-grandfather used to give me when he was still around (Black Hacks Candy, anyone could relate?). And this phase stays very long, like 3-4 hours or so. And then the cotton candy blooms, with tonka beans and cedar, this is my favorite part, a candy gourmand, sweet and warm, the licorice is now only serves as a backdrop for the whole composition. And thank God, it stays this way for the next 4 hours or so. I don't think this is the dupe of Bond No. 9 New Haarlem. New Haarlem smells like maple syrup, and this is licorice-cotton candy.

He smells like caramels," one woman says. "It's cotton candy," says another woman. Andie MacDowell responds, "No. It's cookies. He smells like cookies. And the smell gets stronger when he's in heat." Blue Sugar is that exact smell. It's sweet and charming, but with a sly devilish grin. Anise, which is usually a note I detest, is actually pleasant here. It is used in tandem with licorice to cut through the intense sugariness of Blue Sugar. Make no mistake, this fragrance is not particularly sophisticated or nuanced. It doesn't smell very expensive, and the name is ridiculous. But I cant help myself from liking it. It's fun and easy to wear. It's truly unisex, although I think such a sweet scent is much more surprising and unexpected on a man.

BAM!!! This one hit me hard the first time I smelled it. Honestly, it reminded me of when I would pass through the pipe tobacco aisle at Sav-on when I was a kid. But ya know -- I kinda liked how that aisle smelled!!! I know it doesn't have any tobacco in it, but the overtone is there. But it is mixed with so many sweet and licorice-like layers that it just blends into something wonderful after a few intense moments after spraying. I go LIGHT on this one and it still holds well for hours and gets softer and more subtle as the day goes on. A DAZZLER. It has a special place in my gallery, and I may go 2 or 3 weeks without wearing it, yet when I do, I just adore it. Also, this is one of the best bang-for-buck fragrances out there. Very reasonably priced whenever I have purchased it. It's nice not to feel ripped-off for a change, but heck, I'd pay more for it if I had to!!!

Have to write another review for sure I hated blue sugar when I first tried it so I gave it to my husband.each time he wore it I thought about that how much this smells good on him.finally I decided to give it another try on my skin and now I loooove it I don't what was the reason of that first impression but I also disliked pink sugar in first tests and now I adore it.I believe they are so complex that my nose needed time to analyze their beauty Blue sugar is a masterpiece.a super uni gourmand perfume for men which is also wearable by women.very potent and almost a sillage monster.I can smell all the notes listed now but most dominant on me is something chocolate like and licorice.doesnt smell really like cotton candy as pink sugar does but this one is darker,even more complex and more sexy Please re-release this masterpiece ❤❤❤❤❤

blue sugar is a truly intoxicating scent and it can suit also woman. the licorice is really strong in this in the first minutes but then it mingels very well with the other accords and the patchouli is calming down the sweetness. it's really delicious and sexy, sweet but not girlish. ok, the cotton candy is actually waving trough the compo, but it's subtle and not to sweet. blue sugar lasts forever with a few drops. the base with cedar, tonka and staranaise is to die for. i can really recommend this to a selfconfident man who dares to be sexy to bite. it can maybe even become a hilarious scent when worn by the wrong type of man. it remembers me a lot to diesel fuel unlimited, less the powdery white flowers, lavender and coriander make this more unisex than diesel fuel unlimited which is obviousely suitet to woman.

It's weird to me how people that love Amen.... can hate Blue sugar. The reason is, to me, the (only) good things of Amen (dry down, sillage, longevity), are all present in Blue Sugar from the mid notes on. I don't like the opening of Blue Sugar...is too...well... sugary. The rest is very good and very impressive for the price!. On my skin, it keeps smelling like smoky caramel, which by the way, gets me compliments every time! My conclusion is, some people don't like it because it's not expensive, therefore, many others may get it and wear it. Now, I don't know about you, but my mother taught that is the definition of being selfish...or for those of you who love Chanel...the definition of being Egoiste.

ok now i read Mr.Mookies comment on me and i thought i should give blue sugar another try !! because since the first time (you can read my first comment under mr.mookies comment) i never sprayed again. I said to myself i will sell it away. "but and now the but comes " i am glad i didnt do that because Mr. Mookie is completely right today i didnt smell an unpleasant burned sugar , no!! i smelled a yummy sugar that is even not burned ! Really this one can grown on everyone just give the fragrance a chance and time to develope itself _________________________ My Advice : 1.buy it 2.spray one time and dont smell it!! 3. and 1 week later spray on you 4. you start to love ________________________

This is a great scent. Now let me quantify that. This is not for everyone. If you don't like sweet scents, stay away! If you like 80's power bombs, stay away! This is very sweet but to me the anise, licorice, and coriander make this wearable for men. I also get a pimento note even though none exist in the note break down. This is sweet up top but in the mid the spicy notes come in and this fragrance becomes much more wearable. Longevity and projection are also excellent. I ultimately get a sweet, spicy, cotton candy and anise/licorice smell. I really like this one and picked up a couple bottles before it became expensive. I think women will like this more than men as well.

Im deffinatly in love with the sweet fumes for sure, and have always adored pink sugar. I was looking for something equivalent but not as cotton candy sweet, and read the reviews for this. Yes, suppose to be for men, but manmy women on here relly like it too and own it for thier use... so, thanks to the great website I was able to get a 100ml bottle for under 20 bucks! I have to admit there is a wierdness about it when first sprayed.. but i actually really liked it, sometimes as others have done, I mix it with PS as well.. The best part is that my hubby sprays himself every morn.. and when he comes home he is still smelling so yummy!!! really suits him too!!

Coffee, toffee, caramelized sugar, vanilla, cotton candy, and LICORICE. I usually dislike fragrances with a prominent licorice note; however, this is blended so nicely. This smells like yellow cake batter in the drydown, and EVERYONE will want to stand next to you. I love that this fragrance is not a projection monster (though it does leave a pretty good scent trail) and I get 8 - 9 hours out of it. Blue Sugar should be worn by anyone who craves a delicious gourmand. Update: Layered with Rochas man, these two create the most relaxing, edible scent out there. 1 spray each to separate sides of your neck and 1 spray each to the lower abdomen.

This frag is absolutely delicious, and it's not just for the boys! In small doses I get more of a sweet cotton candy with a hint of licorice/anise, but in large doses, I find that the licorice and anise are much more prominent than the cotton candy and kind of overshadow it. I prefer to use this frag sparingly so I can get more of the cotton candy (even though I do like licorice and anise). I guess I could see this on a man, but personally I picture this more on a woman since it's such a yummy, candy smell. Even my husband likes it on me. He said I smell delicious! Women, don't be afraid! Give this one a try. It's soooo yummy!

I am SHOCKED that people are paying that much for this! As previous posters stated, I got mine for like $15! I'm soooo glad I got it when I did. I actually swapped this away and then bought it again a few months later (in like 2013). It's such an amazing scent! All the discontinued Aquolina scents (esp. Blue Sugar, Chocolovers) were under-appreciated in their time and now people are realizing how awesome they were! I love that this scent is so unisex. On me it starts off as licorice cotton candy, and then the cedar is VERY prominent in the drydown (although present from the beginning in some amount). It smells sooo good!

Considering everyone I know doesn't categorize their food to men and women, it'd be kind of ridiculous to do so with scents. :P This is the perfect 'male' cotton candy fragrance, but no scent realistically has a gender associated with it. If you spray it on fresh after a shower, you'll get the more prominent cotton candy notes. If you spray it on after being out a few hours/later at night it might give off more of the star anise/licorice smell. Lightly misting also gives more of a cotton candy effect. Either way, it's perfect if you want a more 'mature' sweet spun sugar fragrance.

I have to admit, when I first smelled this one I didn't like it. Mind you I own Angel Men and Rochas Man, so I enjoy a sweet gourmand. But for some reason this one was different and I wasn't too convinced. I did however give it a second try and sprayed it on myself like I would normally spray a cologne rather than on my hand and that's when I REALLY enjoyed it. I could smell hints of it the next day on my sweater and it smelled so good. Hints of it here and there. For the price, it's not bad to throw in your collection. Definitly try it out before you buy.

I got my hands on this back in 2012 when it was around 18$ I see as of now the price has went up on this bad boy I'm glad I got 2 bottles and out of all the colonges I got in my collection this one stands out on my skin at first in get a cotton candy smell and then it dries down into a birthday cake smell with the cotton candy in the background its a great night out scent I put this as my most daring scent I have received complements for this cologne needless to say this is gonna stay in my collection for a very long time I love this cologne.

Actually i wore lolita lempicka and flowerbomb and i got a near replica of blue sugar. It s a gorgeous fragrance, a lushful of patchouli with a bowl of sugar topped up with a powerful grind of anise. This is potent, rivalling the designer houses like dior and chanel. However it can be headache inducing with all it s creamy sugary goodness, i suggest applying not more than 2 sprays below waist down. Dont get me wrong it isn't an infantile fragrance, it s full of sex and sophistication when worn right in my opinion.

it really smells like licorice/anise.. It is sweet smelling but not bad.. It lasts a long time also.. I sprayed on me at like 9pm.. Wore a sweatshirt all night and can still smell it 10 hours later on my arm after taking the sweatshirt off.. Definitely not a business or blue colar work site scent.. I wear this when I go to a Columbian Bakery by my house to buy a coffee.. I get tons of compliments from the ladies.. For play and maybe while you and your Lady have fun together.. 7-10 for scent 10-10 for longevity

This is an outstanding sweet fragrance that can be purchased very cheaply. The sweetness complements the liquorice very well, making it seem like a 'stripped-down' version of a Thierry Mugler fragrance. It has great sillage and longevity. This, to me is vastly superior to Lolita Lempicka pour Homme, which has similar notes, but which is much weaker. I could easily see a woman wearing this fragrance as it so sweet, but at the same time it is not so feminine that men cannot wear it.

Opens with a sour and fruity note, Blue Sugar quickly turns into a sweet caramel scent, I smell burn sugar and a lot of licorice in the first hour then it dies down into a sweet and yummy scent that closes to the skin. Very cute and beautiful scent, not mention cheap. Apparently unisex to my nose, more complex than its sister Pink Sugar which smells a bit cheap to me. On second/third wearing, I notice the scent gets very similar to condense milk.

received it yesterday ! i bought it very cheap 16 bucks for 50ml online Really i want to love it but i cant unfortunately :( its really a love or hate scent!! Dont know where but i read here or at another forum a comment on this perfume "smells like burned sugar" and this is exactly the same thing which came to my mind when i first smelled it. but i am curious about other people opinions when i am wearing it, i will ask for sure some friends

Sweet, delicious, cotton candy - licorice mix. Lasts very long time, sillage is incredible (and my skin eats fragrance). I just love this smell, perfect for anything casual or cuddling at home. I stopped at walgreens today about 2 hours after application and the 3 girls behind the counter kept saying how great I smelled :) Very unisex as others have stated a girl could wear this easily, great stuff will always have a place in my wardrobe

I , too, got the heavy, sugar syrup scent the first two times I sprayed it. That dissipated quickly, and left a yummy, sweet, baked goods smell. The next day, the heavy smell was gone , and the spray came out good the first try. I also stocked up for less than $7USD a bottle. I'm female, and this scent is quite unisex. I think it works on me because of the patchouli, especially. My skin makes something very good-smelling with patchouli.

I love blue sugar and I agree with Blueberry when she quotes Dalida's song "Caramel, bonbons et chocolat..." because it's a very sweet frag! A few time ago, I wore A men by Mugler, that is not far from this sweet scent. I think blue sugar is more "ludique", less serious, that's why it's the perfect one for free time, vacations...Two time spraying is enough for a day! Dedicated to men and women who want to smile...

thats PURE cotton candy but also all other ingredients like the liqueur, etc.love to wear that one at office with everybody telling me how sweet and youthful my fragance is,in some skins probably goes too strong, but in mine is just perfect,its also ok, in 1 single spray, for gym times although I guess now when summer comes this wont be suitable anymore, cheap and chic, I,d say, and so glad I discovered that one

I have Chocolovers and have tried Pink Sugar.I broke down and bought a sample of Blue Sugar off ebay and opened up the vial today. Very nice -bottle worthy(multiple bottle actually my Dad likes it too-after making sure it IS a men's fragrance-He's picky)Dad tried it (he's 56).He said it smelled yummy like cookie dough. Blue Sugar smells almost exactly like Lolita Lempicka's L minus the salt & immortelle.

I’ve owned this fragrance 5 times, both 50 and 100ml. This is a genuine licorice perfume, so if that’s what’s you’re looking for here you have it. I consider this one of my top fragrances but due to discontinuation the bottle has sky rocketed in price. I once bought a 100ml for 33 euros new and now they go for around 150 euros. Way overpriced these days but a truly unique fragrance.

I have a few tester vials if this and the initial application is spicy. Straight anise. I didnt even know the notes when i tried it. But the drydown is the smoothest cotton candy with hints of spicy. Its not as sharp as pink sugar and I dont get the citrus with BS that i get with PS. Wish it wasnt discontinued. I think i prefer this to PS which I've owned 4 times in 100ml

This is sweet, but not cloyingly so, and a bit spicy and aromatic. I love anise, and so I'm really enjoying this. It reminds me of a cross between A*men and El Born by Carner Barcelona (but not as lactonic as that one), with a little Lolita Lempicka thrown in. I got the big 300 ml refill and am decanting it into smaller atomizers.

I have to say, I am impressed!. On me, this one starts with a burnt sugar, then it becomes pure caramel, and at the end (8-10 hours later), it becomes very "sweet smoke", don't know from what or why, but that is exactly how it finishes on my skin. Out of 10; Sillage - 8 Longevity - 10 Compliments - 9 Seems to be a winner!

I ordered a sample and just received it today.I LOVE it!!it reminds me of something sensual and lost in this world.I get a bit of anise and a defined cotton candy sweet ending with an earl grey filled musky veil.it is an excellent scent and i will wear it even though it says its for men.p.s.i cant stop sniffing my wrist!

One word. Beautiful! The licorice in this is fantastic. Along with the vanilla to make it almost caramel like. Guys, don't let the cotton candy note turn you off. Although its different than your ordinary men's cologne it is very gourmand but it doesn't smell like those tramps that walk around the hallways in school.

Love this stuff but had a funny reaction from a friend's girlfriend. They picked me up to go to dinner and the girlfriend immediately asked me why I smelled like a female "stripper". I scoffed and asked why she said that. She replied you smell like sex and dirty cotton candy! I thought that was kinda cool :)

I love this fragrance, it smells so unique and I used to get many, many compliments while wearing it. Perfect for a night out as long as you don’t get too trigger happy. If anyone has a reliable source for getting this, or even a dupe that smells close to this, please, please PLEASE let a brother know.

I highy recommend this perfume to any man. It smells edible (a delicious mixture of caramel, licorice, cotton candy, and musk) - which is, believe me, what you want when you're around a lady. Just make sure that you're okay with possibly being bitten! ;o)

Very sweet,sugar,cofee,caramel scent,very beautiful smell...it's little like Amen T.M. but with more caramel,and less patchouli....long lasting,good sillage,great price..no mistakes with this...big thumbs up from me :))

It's joke when a women said "Blue Sugar is for women". No, it's not. I think it's a unisex scent. I love to wear it when I want my lover to eat me up (hahaha)cause it's sweet. Finally, Love it, Love it and Love it.

I like it because its sugary but with bite. I don't like licorice, but it works wonderfully here. It vaguely reminds me of ginger snap cookies. Its pleasantly sweet,not cloying. Definitely for men and women.

Hey, Blue Sugar Lovers- look into designer type fragrance oils. I have 4 oz of an exquisite Blue Sugar dupe. The maker's oils are at least as good as the originals. I agree, it's for both sexes.

This is a great, potent, playful gourmand, but not for 220-250 dollars for a 100ml bottle. Don't blind buy it. You are NOT missing that much. And I LOVE gourmands. Sorry e bay inflators...

Wow,this fragrance is extreme!Extremely sweet,extremely performant,and extremely sexy for hitting on girls....Licorice,cotton candy,vanille,maybe a bit of caramel....What a treat!

What??? Blue Sugar is no more. I purchased a bottle for $12, now a bottle is $89.00. Now I will never let this out of my site. Such a nice fragrance. Very sweet and seductive.

This might sound weird to say, it smells like burnt candy. I mean that in the best way possible. It smells awesome and I can’t stop smelling it every time I spray it!

I just got a 3.4oz for 30$ from a seller on eBay. Great fragrance,I tend not to like licorice fragrances but there is something special about this one.

I love this fragrance! It's so sweet and sexy with the longest lasting. This isn't an average parfume, this is a masterpiece! Love that!
