Received it today and I love it more than my expectations,I can name it a very successful blindbuy I can get sweet orange and coconut from the first whiff and this sweet orange stays all through the development but even if you hate citruses don't be worried.it's not sour or sharp and appears in a veryyy creamy,milky,warm and sweet base,very delicious Whipped cream,cream brulee,coconut milk and sandalwood ground Orange and produce a very delightful and yummy orange-coconut cream.it's bright,warm and lovely and not a watery,faint scent.it's totally gourmand,very creamy and if you're looking for an orange-coconut flavoured creme I believe you can't find anything better I also love it's golden bottle Gold sugar is my third aquolina perfume(pink sugar and chocolover were first and second) and I love all these three.they're all foody gourmands,multi faceted,original,memorable and potent.I'd love to try other aquolinas it's shame they're unavailable where I live Edit:you should put it upside down in it's box.if you put it right,you can't take it out of box.I did so and had no choice but cut it's box with seasors.and it's bottle can be scratched easily.it's golden color becomes ruined with stains.now I'm very sad because I loved it's bottle and now I feel it has scars :( 2nd edit: if you'd like to try a gold sugar without orange,give beyonce heat wild orchid a go.I find them very similar but orange is replaced with a touch of berry like fruits in wild orchid ❤❤❤❤ Edit: Now I have used it enough to talk about it's development in time First phase is orange-coconut flavoured whipped creme.it's pretty potent in this stage and people around will notice you with a very yummy scent which some will find strange for a perfume,many will guess you're carrying a dessert not that you're wearing a perfume.after noticing that it's actually a perfume many people are going to ask it's name This stage lasts for 1-2 hours on me.gradually orange fades away and in second stage you're left with a coconut-creme brulee.this stage is also very foody and yummy but warmer and softer in sillage.I sometimes can detect a touch of burnt sugar sprinkled on top of it and sometimes not.though first stage is more unique and has some orangey freshness, I prefer second stage because sometimes I feel orange doesn't go well with coconut After some time,something perfumey/not foody starts hoovering in the background which seems to be floral-musk-sandalwood combo. I start to pickup orange flower which blends beautifully with creamy gourmand notes.it becomes a bit less coconuty.this stage is my favorite,it smells heavenly to my nose .well I enjoy it all through it's life but if it lasted as that buttery,100% foody orange-coconut of the opening it would become nauseating,like eating a sweet and delicious dessert for hours which would feel gagging instead of enjoyable but luckily it develops on skin.in it's lovely drydown I can also feel a soft touch of powder.this is what lasts on your skin until it fades but in last hour I feel right out of the shower and beachy vibe at the same time.like stepping out of shower(and probably washing your hair or body with an orangey shampoo)and then wearing a coconuty sunscreen lotion.it doesn't feel foody anymore.it more feels clean/shampooyee/sun tan lotiony All in all I believe it's truely original and interesting but it's also something that I can wear just when I'm in it's mood. I can't even think of wearing it often(maybe I could if it didn't take 3 hours to reach it's drydown) but for a sunny day on beach or when you want to wear something different and fun it's very suitable If you dislike coconut or dislike foody gourmands stay far away n th edit :D Boy I LOVE it so much now that I'm sure I can't live without it! Maybe because I'm craving coconut a lot these days.this is my best coconut perfume.when I first bought it,I felt there's lots of orange in it all through it's life and orange-coconut combo feels kind of wierd sometimes;but now orange doesn't last long.it stands in shadow after less than 20mins and leaves me in a coconut-whipped cream-creme brulee heaven.soooo yummy in a creamy,milky way.there's nothing sharp or scratchy.and yes,it's sweet and totally gourmand but it's not sickly sweet IMO,maybe because still a hint of orange freshness,or maybe because it's clean,there's a hint of clean powder mingling with this yummy cream It's also great for layering purposes.if you want to add a sweet,delicious and creamy undertone to your other perfumes,gold sugar is what you need Now I can easily detect orange flower-neroli-musk in it's dry down.t may seem a very simple gourmand,like pink sugar,but actually it's not.there's more going on here. did previously review this, but wanted to write an updated one in hopes of describing it better Sweet, lactonic, citrusy, vanilla, coconut, woody, vibrant, radiant, feminine, sensual, seductive, flirty, charming, whimsical, dreamy, delightful, alluring, tempting, delicious, addictive, inviting, cozy, comforting This is deliciously sweet, creamy, and citrusy vanilla with a soft woody base.it’s rich and decadent, but also fluffy and airy. Gold Sugar opens very citrusy with the orange notes, and with a slightly green and floral freshness from the neroli. It has a The crème brûlée brings a rich caramelized sweetness and the whipped cream brings a creamy/lactonic vibe, and there’s just a sprinkle of coconut flakes adding to the sweetness. The dry down is really beautiful with the sweet and airy whipped cream, creamy woody scent of sandalwood, and a very soft musk which balance out the citrusy notes. I’m a big fan of the Pink Sugar line even after 20 years, and currently being in my late 30s. This is my favorite out of the whole line! I also own Pink Sugar, Pink Sugar Berry Blast, Pink Sugar Sensual, and Pink Sugar Creamy Sunshine. It’s such a shame that this one was discontinued as I’m sure it would be quite popular if it was readily available. There aren’t many fragrances that I find particularly similar to Gold Sugar. However, in the last year I added Phlur Heavy Cream to my collection, and realized that it’s by far the most similar fragrance that I’ve come across to Gold Sugar. They both share a similar sweet, lactonic, and citrusy scent profile with a touch of coconut. Although, Heavy Cream is much less citrusy as well as a good bit more creamy/lactonic. As far as similarities go, There are more vague similarities to fragrances like Versace Crystal Noir EDT, D&G Devotion, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold, and Nest Golden Nectar, but none of them are overly close. This feels feminine to me, and it does have a youthful feel to it, although I still very much enjoy wearing it at 38. I personally prefer this for the colder weather of fall and winter, but it wouldn’t become cloying in warmer weather. This feels most suitable for casual occasions, date nights, for work and/or school. It's so funny how a smell can ignite a long forgotten memory. This one reminded me of the first time I had creme brulee, not judging a book by it's cover, and (almost) meeting Ella Fitzgerald. Long ago, I was on a date with a very handsome young man who had had a crush on me for quite some time. He was not the type of guy I usually dated, but I decided that I should not judge a book by the cover and just go and enjoy myself. Brian took me to a candlelight dinner at a tiny restaurant in Malibu to hear his best friend, David, play the piano. He was the perfect date and it was a magical night. He ordered creme brulee for me for desert because I said I had never had it before. At the same moment the creme brulee came to the table, David began to play the piano. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I've never tasted anything so good, nor heard any music so beautiful. You know when you are in the presence of true talent when the music seems to make time stop. He played with such passion and intensity. It was pure genius but filled with sadness. I felt each note had meaning. When David finished his set, he came to the table and sat with us. I learned that he had played with Ella Fitzgerald and was taking care of her on her deathbed. He said that each night he played he thought of her and that sadness and genius came through the music. He said that if she hadn't been so sick, he would have loved to introduce us to her later that night because being around young people made her happy and she would have loved the story of how my date and I met. Instead, we sent her some creme brulee to enjoy from us with a little note that said we wished her well and hoped to meet her in the near future. We never got that chance because she passed soon after. But to this day, I think of her when I have creme brulee; her voice is as rich and smooth as creme brulee and now I always associate the two. Today was the first day I wore this fragrance and this is exactly what this perfume reminded me of. A magical night with a handsome date, beautiful piano music and Miss Ella Fitzgerald and her friend and fellow musician David, the man who loved her to the very end.

Dead sexy on a man! I own all the 'Pink Sugar' line except Blue Sugar (simply because it's by far the priciest) and Gold Sugar is my favorite...because my man wears it and pulls it off spectacularly. This IS a unisex fragrance, despite being 'sweet'. It's the sandalwood and musk, I guess; I doubt Pink Sugar would work on him. But the Pink-Sugar-y parts of Gold Sugar are NOT too feminine to work on a guy, even a manly-man. He is a big guy, ex-footballer, business owner, ex sports TV producer, blah blah, and this is the scent he reaches for more than any other. It's not just for my benefit either; he takes it when he travels and I stay home. So. He applies in the morning, but it's still recognizably there in the evening, though more creme brûlée-musky than creme brûlée-citrusy. So lasting power is at least ten hours on him. Sillage is moderate; I can smell him in the bathroom from the bedroom for like ten minutes, then from 3-5 feet away for 2-3 hours, and for the rest of the ten hours, it's a scent you smell when you go to shake hands or hug scent, which is fine for me. I'd rather not blast people six cubicles down anyway, but I suppose you MIGHT be able to if you apply differently ( he does two sprays at most, under his shirt, nothing else). I'm telling you, it's HOT. Scents sold for women are not off limits for confident men. Sean Connery is a fan of Jicky, for Pete's sake, which was also worn by Jackie O. Does he strike anyone as girly in the LEAST?? Mm-mm, nope. If you despise gourmand no matter HOW adult it is (like if you even loathe Black Opium and Shalimar, etc because they're too sweet and sugary and girly for you) then I guess give this a pass. ( this is much sweeter than any of those, I'm just saying it's much moodier than Pink Sugar). But if you like a dark, naughty gourmand, or if you WANT to like Pink Sugar but it's just too unrelentingly 'happy' and ‘basic’ for you, try this. If you fit the above description and you are looking for something for your man, try this or Steel Sugar (or Blue, I guess, but that goes for a hundred a bottle while you can easily get this for thirty or less). Mm.

My favorite of the Pink Sugar Collection so far (Pink Sugar, Pink Sugar Sensual, Pink Sugar Berry Blast, and Gold Sugar), and one of my all time favorite fragrances! Seriously probably in my top 5 ever, as well as one of my signature scents! I have been wearing this since its launch (2012?), so about 10 years and I have yet to tire of it! It’s one of the few in my collection that I always try to keep a backup bottle of! An absolutely gorgeous gourmand that is definitely sweet, but not as sweet as the original Pink Sugar! It also has truly excellent performance for me just as the original does! I get seriously incredibly longevity (I can still smell it on me the best morning!) and silage with it! Definitely a 10/10 for everything with Gold Sugar for me! As for the scent itself I get a sweet and creamy sugary vanilla! I pick up on the whipped cream, Crème Brûlée, Sandalwood, orange blossom, orange the most! I also notice the coconut, musk, and neroli a little bit, but to me they aren’t very forward notes, but more of just a hint in the scent. I’m not a big fan of citruses, so this is a plus for me! I do love coconut and beachy fragrances, but I don’t get that vibe from this beautiful fragrance, which is a good thing considering I was expecting more of a warm, sweet, vanilla gourmand! Even with the coconut note I do tend to typically wear this during the fall and winter! I haven’t been able to find anything that’s a dupe for it yet, but I do think that Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Gold and Nest Golden Nectar are somewhat similar to it, but they’re still fairly different too. I did get Dolce & Gabbana Devotion partly since I saw that quite a few people find that it reminds them of Gold Sugar. Personally I don’t think it’s similar, I get a lot of sugared lemon and boozy vanilla with some orange blossom. The closest one I’ve found so far is Versace Crystal Noir EDT (not the EDP) which is pretty similar imo!

I'm not sure what I was expecting with Gold Sugar. Pink Sugar was completely rancid and incinerated cotton candy to me, and I was really put off by it. Aquolina is known for their sweet, sweet perfumes. I was somehow expecting this to be along the same sweetness as, say, Hypnotic Poison. Gold Sugar is definitely very sweet, and can definitely be cloying. However, this is a VAST improvement from Pink Sugar IMO. The ethyl maltol overdose is cranked down to a more reasonable level, though it is, again, still very sweet. That vague rancid, screechy sour note in Pink Sugar is completely eliminated. While the scent is still very young at heart, Gold Sugar's target audience is definitely wider than PS. Even though all the notes put together seem juvenile, I strangely get classy vibes from Gold Sugar. After the strong alcohol fumes in the initial spray, it opens with bright citrus fruit and flowers with milk. Honestly, my first thought that came to mind was "orange blossom creamsicle". After that the citrus dissipates, and is replaced by coconut creme brulee--freshly torched, of course. It basically stays like that and it settles down into a milky, vanillic sweet musk. As with all of Aquolina fragrances, Gold Sugar has great sillage. This stuff smells EDIBLE, 100%, from start to finish. It doesn't smell like "oh, that's perfume!", but more like haute dessert! The bad thing about this is that it makes me hungry, lol. It's completely delicious. I can see how others find this could be masculine, but in my opinion this is more unisex since dessert knows no gender. I probably won't be wearing this one on a daily basis, but I don't regret purchasing it because it was such a fun fragrance with a cheap price. It does have a synthetic quality to it, but I was never expecting niche-type quality for this price point--we have to be reasonable! I'm going to keep it around during the winter for a pick-me-up.

This is an excellent sweet-creamy-comforting and long lasting scent.I decided to make the review just now after having 2 bottles of Gold Sugar for the past 5-6 months because after all these time of wearing it,and it being in the peak of winter and harbouring tons of compliments for this fragrance. Scent:The initial blast smells strongly of alcohol and something citrusy that is indeed quite similar to a car air freshener like what other reviewers say which kinda lasts between 20-30 minutes and the coconut note as well (Oh how I wish this stage would dissipate ASAP).That stage might worsen during warm temperatures and might give you a huge headache.As it develops further,somewhere in the BG is a creamy dessert which I would assume,the Creme Brulee. The dry down on my skin smells soooo much like a lemon cupcake muffin which I love.Still,the creaminess lingers. Longevity:This stays on my skin til I shower the next day.I spray this at 12 pm after showering and it still lingers til 12-1 pm the next day as stays on may hair quite well too and so does on clothes. Sillage:Not until yesterday til I found out how potent this shit is.At first during my morning work at school where a student told me "I knew you were here because your scent fills up the room".And second,at my afternoon to evening shift when the clients we had which were twins(male) blurted out of how great I smelt and even asked what perfume I was wearing and I was a few feet away from them. As a guy at 19 wearing this,I can totally say that this might be my signature winter perfume for it is such an amazing scent and a compliment getter plus a head turner for both sexes.I love it so much and will stock up after finishing 2 of my bottles.

I unfortunately and by mistake smashed my bottle bought in TJMaxx back in 2018 (or 2017). It was a blind buy but I am risky with my perfumes so did not mind. I have a lot of them and I rotate usually but with the pandemic in place I have not been going much at all for 2+ years so the juices of some will have inevitably gone bad. If you are a lover of gourmand perfumes that can take you from spring to summer to fall and winter, look no further. It does not contain vanilla but it sure smells sweet because of the creme brulee that is in it. To me it smells a lot like MAC Hue: MV2, must be because MV2 has heliotrope and vanilla but both perfumes have a honey smell to them. For me honeysuckle is such a comforting, childhood smell from my garden and the opening notes of citrus that Gold Sugar has are just that: comforting, enveloping "feel-good" citrus notes. The drydown smells like vanilla to me and the overall longevity of this perfume is eternal! It has been almost two weeks that the bottle slipped from my bathroom cabinet and broke and the perfume still lingers whenever I enter the bathroom! I would wear this all year around as it is still "warm" enough to be worn in winter but not so cloying that you cannot wear it in the summer, provided you do not overspray. Such a shame it is discontinued. The price of under $20 for a 30 ml bottle is still a steal because this perfume lasts a long time! I wish I had used it all in time before a third of it adorned my bathroom tiles. Such a shame it is discontinued!

Since this was a blind-buy, I was trying to decide between Pink and Gold Sugar.I've never cared for cotton candy (I despised it in another fragrance) and it sounded like Pink is cloyingly sweet. I decided to go with Gold (30 ml, which is a fairly small bottle). I couldn't be happier and wish I'd bought a larger flanker. I literally just received it today and it's the only one (out of my three orders) that I tried directly on my skin as opposed to a piece of paper. I hate the bottle and don't care for the packaging-- they are both cheap-looking. This is a sweet, creamy, warm scent that is perfect for colder/cooler weather. I doubt I would wear this in the hot summer months as I'm sure my body chemistry would transform it into something screechy and unpleasant. The great thing is, this isn't sickeningly/cloyingly sweet. The coconut note can be a little tricky when not mixed well with other notes. It's very well blended in Gold Sugar. That crème brule, coconut, and creamy accord are what give this frag a warm, sensual, and creamy dry-down. It does open a little strong, that's the citrus and neroli, but it settles very quickly. Sadly, the sillage and longevity are nothing to write home about, which means re-applying it. I don't mind since I plan to buy another flanker when this is done. There's an advantage to buying a small flanker since you can easily carry it in your bag. This is a safe blind-buy.

When I tested this for the first time, I was a bit scared. I knew the original Aquolina Pink Sugar very well and I hated the burnt-tyres-undertones it had on my skin. So you can imagine my surprise when I was greeted by fragrant oranges dipped in vanilla cream! Gold Sugar quickly became a love for me. It is the epitome of "cozy scent" - so warm and sweet without being cloying at any moment. It opens up with tangy oranges and vanilla cream. The oranges are so tart in the beginning, that they kind of remind me of yogurt mixed with marmelade. However, the sourness goes away soon and I am left with a decadent creme brulee, on which someone sprinkled freshly-picked orange flowers. This dry-down is heavenly and so ridiculously good when you consider how cheap this perfume is! Another great thing about Gold Sugar is that you can wear it in most seasons - the gourmand notes make it perfect for the colder months of the year, while the zesty citruses keep it from getting cloying and make it a good fit for the warmer months as well. The perfume lasts about 8-9 hours on my skin, but it only projects for the first two hours. If I want more sillage, I have to re-apply, which I don't mind. I am so glad I discovered this gem! I got it from a blind-swap - possibly my most successful blind-swap to date.

I prefer this over Pink Sugar. It took a couple of tries before I got any of the sweet whipped cream, but I did smell it. It is a pleasant, sweet scent. My mom remarked, oh you want to smell like a dessert! And in a joking way like to attract men. Not really, I just love sweet scents and want to smell it for myself, not for men or anything. Lol. I'm single and plan to stay that way a while. I felt a little embarrassed about it, not thinking much about how others may perceive dessert scents. I just happen to love sweets. I would accept any nice compliments but that's as far as it goes, haha. So, my perfume is for me to enjoy. And I like to smell generally nice when around people. I like anything that is not very loud or offensive to others. Gold Sugar could possibly be too strong if over sprayed. But it is much lighter than Pink Sugar, and much less noticeable. My canister was sealed and new from Amazon, but the cellophane was dirty when I got it, and the cardboard was dented, so I threw the canister away and kept the bottle. I also had a hard time removing the bottle like others have said. I probably should have bought a back up bottle when I found it on sale. Instead, I bought two Pink Sugars, and ended up liking Gold more!!

I swore I would never try another Aquolina scent after the disappointements I had with Pink Sugar, Pink Sugar Sensual and Simply Pink. I could not stand any of them. Too artificial, too sugary, too cloying etc. Then I saw this at such a bargain price online and decided to give Aquolina one more chance. I couldn't be more happier that I did! This is a really delicious scent, especially suitable for colder months/winter time. Somehow I also manage to get a sligtly Christmassy vibe out of this. I get a lot of orangy coconut cake in this or orange flavoured coconut cookies with cream. Not exactly crème brule but that is a good thing since the association with crème brule originally kept me from buying this, since it made me think this would be too sweet and sugary, but this is not. Instead this is so delicious that I keep wishing this was edible. I can also detect a hint of neroli here and it blends in beautifully. This is one that you do not have to overspray. One tiny spray and you are good to go for hours. Not a tropical coconut scent this one, but a real find for gourmand lovers, especially if you happen to love coconut blended with oranges, like I do.

I found this buried in a bin in my closet and pulled it out because I remembered it was coconutty and yes! I am definitely wearing this this summer. It’s a less cloying Pink Sugar without that burnt caramel note but they thru in some lemons and citrus, a little sunscreen action if you like that kind of thing, WHICH I DO. and wa la! A Pink Sugar you can wear in the hot weather. Actually this is the best one I’ve smelled. The original is too sweet for where I live. Florida. And the Sensual smells like a baby prostitute. The sunshine one was not much different to the original so I never checked out the other new ones. But this one is good! I alway wanted to try Choco Lovers because I heard it was amazing but I never found it. So this is the best one imo. Longevity really good. I have almost a full bottle which I’m glad because it’s sadly discontinued. Isn’t that always the way? :/

It took me a while to remember what this reminds me of.. but this is like opening a bag of Brandt cocos rusk. It's the perfect cookie season scent, so cozy and delightful. I don't detect any citrusy Orange or Mandarin, maybe because of the cold weather? It's just very sweet coconut biscuit and creamy goodness with a lot of Sandalwood from the start. The cocos is strong, but it doesn't bother me so much as it does in many other scents. Not even remotely related to the cotton candy scent of Pink Sugar, which I wear often. Also not much in common with peachy Lolitaland, on me Gold Sugar is missing all fruityness. I will love Gold Sugar all winter, I'm sure. And then it will eventually become something else in summer.

My favorite Aquolina! I'm devastated that this was discontinued. It was the perfect rich Crème Brûlée edible coconut dessert scent with just the right amount of neroli and orange zest to keep it a little bright and fresh. Powerful sillage and suitable all year round. I couldn't believe it when I looked for a dupe and came up with nothing, there is nothing out there cheap or pricey that smells like this little gourmand masterpiece. Aquolina's newer Creamy Sunshine is not nearly as good. I have a 100ml bottle from 2013 that has aged beautifully but I'm searching for an unwanted cap (for any size bottle). Even a pink sugar cap would work if you have one you no longer need, please send me a pm! Thanks very much 💛

I have had two bottles of this lovely scent and I noticed something kinda weird. The first one I bought from an online fragrance store and it was a creamy sweet coconut scent and I loved it. The second one I bought from an eBay retailer and that bottle didn't have the soft creaminess of the first. It was sharper, more sugary and less coconutty. My guess is that the first one was fresher ( I didn't know about check fresh at the time) , that's why it was more enjoyable. I would recommend it because it's a great scent when you get a bottle in good condition, but be careful where you buy it from. I'd ask for the batch code before purchasing, now that I know better.. I may even buy another bottle.

My goodness this is good stuff! I'm a gourmand addict, hence the name, and this fits the bill perfectly! I just want to lick my arm when smelling it! The creme brulee and coconut...what a heavenly combo! The only slight criticism is that i get a slight Britney Fantasy vibe from this, but I can live with that as it's so nice! I do think that this could be used in any season as the coconut gives it a tropical vibe for summer, but the creme brulee gives it a warm vibe for winter, so a winner all round. It's quite strong, and I do love my powerhouses, had it on a few hours and still going strong. I recommend this if you love your sweet gourmands like me, you won't be disappointed!

GS opens with bright, zesty oranges 🍊 and mandarins. I can also smell the fresh and slightly bitter neroli and orange blossoms; they help render some sophistication to this gourmand composition. Next we are introduced to the anticipated crème brûlée. It is silky smooth, orange-flavored, mildly sweet and with a swirl of whipped cream on top. As it melts in your mouth, you can smell the torched sugar and the toasted coconut on its surface. Just beautiful. If the original Pink Sugar was too much for you, I think that you will find Gold Sugar, more versatile year-round with a little more class. The performance is however weaker than PS.

But really, go get some Gold Sugar. Got a large bottle you were gonna throw away? Hit me up. Seriously, PM me. I'm not too proud to leave a diamond in the street; I'll take a castoff! OR...don't throw it away, take it to your local women's shelter (or man's) and donate it. Lots of people are down on their luck and become homeless or had to leave an abuser with no notice, leaving all their stuff behind...I bet it would be appreciated if they had a few nice things so they don't feel like a piece of rubbish no one cares about, or to spruce up for a job interview, etc. Thanks Aquolina for Gold Sugar! I just finished trying out this fragrance...I hate the opening. It is orange and bitter neroli for about 20 minutes. After it dries down, the whipped cream came through! It went from bitter to SWEET & I'm so glad it did! It lasts a long time on the skin too. At least 8 hrs. Overall I'd describe it as a whipped cream with orange in the background. Good for layering as well. I bought a dupe from Andromeda's Moon. Edit: I have the "Indulge Me" mist by TPH as well and although they're similar, they are NOT dupes. Gold Sugar is sweeter with the whipped cream, while the "Indulge Me" Mist is mainly tuberose and vanilla.
