Pink Sugar Red Velvet

Something about this one smells 2x better than the OG Cotton Candy Pink Sugar. Although this smells similar to pink sugar by a lot this one smells much more softer and less annoying. The red velvet Pink sugar has a little strawberry/cherry scent as well and when it sit on the skin after a while it starts to smell creamy and warm which I like. The best I can describe this scent is like a creamy strawberry/cherry coughdrop or those hard strawberry candies your grandma would give you. I bought this one to give to my mom since I heard it smells less childlike but my mom likes the original pink sugar more so I gave her that one instead. I actually like this one more so I’m glad she took the other one lol. I will say that when I spray it on my clothes it smells much stronger like the original pink sugar but when I spray it on my skin it smells like creamy strawberries and soft. So my chemistry must go with this one more. I would say spray it on your clothes if you want it to last longer. Having two at the same time isn’t necessary, I would just say test them both out and keep the one you like more because they are different but somewhat the same. I also get a lot of compliments wearing this one.

This beautiful fragrance smells about 90% the same as the original Pink Sugar except it is even *sweeter*, which I never thought was possible, and the base is a bit creamier, more ice cream-like. Besides the aforementioned, the difference lies in the strawberry opening note which fades just way too quickly. It would be fair to mention this flanker smells more artificial/plasticky as well, especially so in the opening. It's never bothered me about Pink Sugar, but for this one reason I wouldn't necessarily consider it an improvement over the original. The rest is practically identical, it even has the same polarizing licorice/burnt sugar DNA I personally can't get enough of. For someone looking for novelty within the PS line this is a pass - but for those wishing to take the sweetness up a notch or just to collect them all, this is great value for money. Performance-wise they're both stellar, potent and lasting as perfume should be, and both are delightful in equal measure. Acquiring the original Pink Sugar brought me a lot of joy back in the day, comparable only to finding my signature scent and now also this flanker. I'm glad it exists.

This flanker of the original Pink Sugar Aquolina has the same strong vanilla. similar to the original, but the differences are in the finer details. I agree with the reviewer below that it's a lot like the OG Pink Sugar + Red Velvet Calgon. The overall effect for me at the start is the icing of a red velvet cupcake, but as it dries down you get the cake a bit more. I was wondering if I would get a faint hint of the chocolate/cocoa powder that's in a red velvet cake (even though it's not listed), but not so much. There may be a faint milk-chocolate quality to the vanilla however, and the ambrettolide in the dry down has a slight roughness that resembles the crumb of a cake. If you enjoy the original, you would probably enjoy this too. It has good performance on me - similar to the original. It's also great for layering with other scents, and the possibilities here are endless. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Out of Pink Sugar and the other flankers I've tried so far (Berry Blast & Creamy Sunshine), this one is my favorite! To my nose it's Pink Sugar with a little artificial grape and a touch of animalic fur (like from a clean cat or rabbit). An interesting combination, but something about it is very addictive. I've never gone through a bottle of anything faster in my life! Still, I can understand why it might not appeal to everyone, and I wouldn't consider this or any Pink Sugar fragrance to be blind safe buy. The OG Pink Sugar is right behind this in my rankings followed by, Berry Blast, then Creamy Sunshine in last place. I want to try ALL of the ones that are still available if I get the chance, and find them at an affordable price. I really enjoy these, but I'm not willing to splurge to get them or go out of my way to find them.

I have the original and upon first spritz into the air I was like OMG no it smells like grape cough syrup what did I do......but then I stopped myself and I was like OK... spray it on your skin before making a final decision here. I'm quite glad I did. So, I actually like this better than the original. This smells like cake batter once it dries down but the first initial spray is almost a strawberry synthetic candy. My coworker hates it on herself it stays very syrup grapey on her, where as on myself I get straight cake/whipped cream &strawverry/ powder sugar. Try on your skin before blind smelling lol, my initial reaction was ew but I love it. This just to me has something the original lacks, the original just never felt like it lived up to what I hoped it almost fell flat, this is a better version if you ask me.

I don't know why I'd never reviewed this seeing as I've been wearing it for 4 years. It consistently is one of the fragrances that gets me the most compliments and can be considered better than the original. I've had someone asking me "were you baking cookies?" from this smell and someone who sat next to me at a dinner party (mind you, I'd sprayed this hours prior) ask: "why does it smell like pancakes?" This is a fantastic sweet smell and likely the most comforting one I've ever tried that also projects beastly and lasts for over 12 hours. It's edible, moreso than the original pink sugar. This is a true and real gourmand. I find it super cosy and appropriate for chilly days during both day and night. It's not necessarily the sexiest kind of sweetness, but it's definitely the most comforting and delicious.

PSA: this is available on Nordstrom Rack again! Mine is on the way to me and I'm super excited because I love Pink Sugar and sweet scents! Will update with a review after I get it. Edit: So here are my thoughts after wearing this a few times. I love it!! The opening is pretty strong but once that settles I get this yummy cake smell and it's delicious!! I only spray two sprays because Red Velvet has quite some ooomph. Longevity is amazing and when I use this after I shower at night (I layer it with Bath and Body Works Peach Prosecco Macaron body cream, yummy!!) I can still smell it when I wake up in the morning. I smell like a yummy dessert! I am SO glad that this popped back up on Nordstrom Rack and that I have the big bottle (3.4 ounce) because I love this perfumes and it's now one of my go-tos!

The opening is a lot similar to the OG Pink Sugar without the burnt sugar/caramelly scent that I wasn't a fan of. I love Red Velvet when it dries down, it becomes more subdued and smells a lot more like a dessert. My boyfriend actually smelled the drydown and he told me it smells like milk. I can smell that whipped cream base note, too on my clothes after wearing it for a while. Just a reminder that this is a Pink Sugar flanker so it does smell like it a lot with few minor differences. It is strongly sweet (especially on the opening) and could get cloying especially if you live in a tropical climate. However, if you wait for a few hours it becomes more subtle and becomes a yummy whipped cream scent. Overall, I love this fragrance. I've gotten compliments for it and I personally love the scent.

Like every other Pink Sugar perfume, this flanker's scent changes dramatically with the wearer. Luckily, Red Velvet and my body chemistry go well together. This is may be my all-time favorite fragrance. At first, it's strawberry galore, sweet and synthetic but in a good way, before it evolves into delicious, comforting strawberry cream pastry. When I wear this at work, my clients visibly take long, deep, deep breaths in my presence. It's hilarious and flattering at the same time. The original Pink Sugar also gets me tons and tons of compliments all the time, from friends to strangers, men to women, children to the elderly. So surprised that so many don't get along with the Pink Sugar line. The only one I didn't really love was Creamy Sugar.

It smells a lot like playdough on the bottle, but smells less like playdough and a little more chocolaty on my skin. It's easily mistakable as the original Pink Sugar, but if you smell closely there's a tinge of whipped cream and coco, and a little more strawberry. All things considered I'd say it's nice if it mixes with your chemistry, I just wish it was more like red velvet cake. Red velvet is not a chocolate cake dyed red, but it does have coco in it, and this fragrance could have leaned into the coco a lot more. The best red velvet fragrance I've smelled is the Red Velvet Cupcake body mist by GooseCreek (Yes far better than Calgon too). I just wish more eau de toilettes or eau de parfums could do it just as good.

🫧 omg I love this perfume! it smells exactly like pink sugar except sweeter, no licorice, no caramel, and more strawberry! 🫧 this perfume smells like strawberry candy! it's so sweet and it's like a strawberry dipped in Cool Whip. 🫧 this perfume has the original pink sugar DNA. but I think it the better than the original. the original pink sugar is more candy-like, gourmand and the pink sugar red velvet is more fruity (strawberry) and creamy, like Cool Whip. 🫧 it doesn't smell like red velvet cake but I can see where the resemblance. it's so good and creamy and yummy and lasts ALL day! I love it! 🫧 I pair it with Britney Spears fantasy. this is better than the original pink sugar in my opinion! 🫶🏾

Wearing this today as a sweet topper for a full-body wear of "Hafez 1984". This, not only, lasts for hours... But it gives a warm creamy sweet 🍓 berry wrap to anything you layer it onto. I actually prefer this to my "Burberry - Her" and my "Lush - American Creme"...not because it's newest to my collection, but because the Sweetness, Creaminess and Fruitiness are perfectly balanced!! The longevity on this is through the ceiling and the projection is moderate. Sillage trail is phenomenal though, I'm touching noses and turning heads everywhere i walk and leave a trail. If i can layer this perfectly with at least two or three of my other burly fragrances... I'll pick up a backup bottle.

This is sweeter/warmer than the original. The original has a fresher/minty note in the background that I and other people around me can smell. It’s still sweet but not in a headache way. This one has a warm strawberry cake scent to it. The PS dna is still in it don’t get me wrong, but they are different enough to me to where I’d say you can get both. I’ve had my mom and brother smell both and they agree this one is sweeter, the original one has a “spicy freshness” to it. Funny enough, my mom said this one smells more like cotton candy, it’s very sugary to her. I wouldn’t pay full price for this (any perfume really) but it’s a great price at Nordstrom Rack, I got it for $22

I absolutely LOVE this, I've been a fan of the OG for decades and I've repurchased so many times but the licorice note has always bothered me a bit. I find this to be less projecting than the original but the drydown smells better in my opinion, I finally smell that custard kind of smell that I've never been able to detect in the regular one due to the licorice. I also smell white chocolate in the drydown. IN LOVE. ETA (Dec. 2024) Now that I've had it for over a year I can say that the dna of the OG is there but Red Velvet smells quite different. More like strawberry gummy candies. This creates a warm sweet bubble which smells divine.

This is gorgeous, and a wonderful surprise. I bought a 100ml bottle for a niece that loves Pink Sugar and a 50ml gift set for me because I was too curious, and I just ordered another 100 ml for me. It is the only flanker that is better than the original and any of the flankers of those I have tried. It is very similar to the original, but the burnt note is gone, and there is a strawberry, but not the obnoxious artificial kind, and whipped cream note. You know that white & red striped candy that is strawberry and whipped cream (or milk) flavored? That is it. It is finer, prettier and more wearable than the OG. Love it.

i like the original pink sugar well enough but red velvet is definitely my favorite out of the flankers!! between this one, berry blast, and the OG, they all have that same very sugary cotton candy dna but red velvet opens with sweet strawberry (and no licorice!) and dries down to that cotton candy smell with an added cake-like note. while all the pink sugars do have slight differences, they dry down to be almost identical so it’s probably redundant to own more than one. the cakey scent i get from red velvet is what makes this one a love for me

I’m shocked by how good this one is. I was a little afraid based on so many negative reviews of it saying to stick to the original. Personally I think this one and berry blast are way better than the original. I don’t get any of that burnt plastic nonsense with this one that the original pink sugar gives me as it’s drying down. This is fruity and cakey and delightful. I can see what people are saying about the medicinal quality of this perfume but I don’t find it overwhelming or off-putting at all, in fact I kind of enjoy it.

The Red Velvet Edition has 95% similarity to the original Pink Sugar on first spray. Yet, on the drydown I believe it is a bit less sweet (but still very sweet). I smell red velvet cake or chocolate as it settles into the last stages, which is beautifully executed. A true chocolate seems difficult to create well in fragrance. It lasts a very long time without being overbearing. I love this to pieces and prefer it to the original Pink Sugar, which has a place in my heart as one of my first fragrances.

OMG this is sooooo good. I’ve smelt berry blast and pink sugar too but hands down this one is the best out of all them. It literally smells like a sweet red velvet cupcake with some frosting on top. You can also smell the strawberry in this. Red Velvet doesn’t smell artificial at all or medicinal. It’s such a very nice gourmand scent. If you don’t like the licorice smell in the original pink sugar DNA and u want something that smells even better then get this! Score 10/10 🤩🤩 🍓🍰🧁

Oh my God people.Forget all the notes listed, this has one yummy gorgeous note throughout: bubblegum. And I absolutely love it. It is an absolutely aromatic bubblegum, so fresh and playful, it just lifts your mood instantly. It is gourmand but it isn’t overlynsweet, it doesn’t hurt your teeth and it doesn’t become astringent (like some perfumes trying to represent bubblegum or strawberry do). I love it and I will get at least one backup bottle 😍😍😍
