Simply Pink by Pink Sugar

I've been in love with pink sugar since it was released 10 years ago. I've had the real deal, samples, dupes, and smelt many things trying to impersonate it's character. Pink Sugar is really something else, I've noticed this silly little fragrance getting some growing respect over the years because as strange of a fragrance as it is, it really holds it's own. I didn't have high hopes for simply pink, simply because it was supposed to be less. Less for me usually doesn't mean better, especially with gourmands. I was still eager to try though and sprayed the top of one of my fingerless gloves. When I first smelled simply pink I was floored. Simply pink is just done right! The top notes delivered me a sugary punch of 3 of my favorite notes. Green leaves, almonds, and raspberry. Wow. That really shook up my senses in a pleasant way, just holding the simply pink bottle I was expecting that all too familiar licorice but it was just totally gone, poof! The floral heart is pretty and nice, imagine walking through trees filled with white petals showering on you. The bottom is really nice! A strawberry pink praline?! Unusual, still very sweet and lovely. The licorice vanilla helps the fragrance smell more like the old pink sugar at the dry down. Overall I was just sniff, sniff hooraying with my glove all the way home. Best of all my glove smelt like simply pink all the next day and it was the best smelling drives to school ever. The even better best of all you can still smell a bit of the top notes even till the end, and for me this was so important because the top notes are my very favorite! I encourage all pink sugar and non-pink sugar lovers to try. Simply pink is still somewhat similar to pink sugar but packing a lot less of a punch. Simply pink is simply pretty! I am head over heels for that green leaf, almond, raspberry combo. I've had a good run with pink sugar, 10 years of loyalty, but simply pink has me switching sides to try something different. Very pleased with aquolina once again.

I typically don't wear sweet fragrances given their capacity to induce migraines. This spring, sweet/fruity/floral scents are all I want to wear. If you already have Animale Love (which came out in 2012), you don't need to buy Simply Pink (came out in 2013), or vice versa. They're similar despite their different notes. Based on all the reviews I read, I'm glad I settled for Gold Sugar and Simply Pink and decided against Pink Sugar. I'm not crazy about the cotton candy note and prefer to not wear such a sugary fragrance. I absolutely love Simply Pink. I received it in the mail today and couldn't wait to try it. Unlike Animale Love, Simply Pink has berry, vanilla, and almond notes, so it opens juicy, sweet, and floral with soft citrusy notes. It also has a clean, sweet, creamy dry drown where the berry, almond, and vanilla notes dominate. The licorice note in Simply Pink is fortunately not that strong (for me) since I've never liked the licorice note. This is basically a very well balanced and pleasant fragrance. Longevity and sillage are moderate, so use a light hand to avoid the headaches that come with over-spraying sweet scents. The cylindrical perfume box looks and feels cheap (as is the case with Gold Sugar). The flanker itself is okay, nothing remarkable there. This is a safe blind-buy and I can tell I'll be reaching for it often. I can see myself wearing this (and Gold Sugar) throughout the year, not just in Spring and Summer. UPDATE I finally broke down and bought the original Pink Sugar. Contrary to my review above, I absolutely love it. More than any of the frags in this line and Animale. I plan to purchase the other frags in this line assuming they are still available.

A great dessert! Simply Pink by Pink Sugar Aquolina-Italian style-100ml. Wrap, refresh and heat! Choose Italian dessert and enjoy the sweetness and pamper your senses throughout the year. Be free and alluring! Another Aqoulin pearl, strong durability and unisex type. Blessed! yummy! EDIT.The enchanting and magical effect of this dessert begins after about 1 hour, and on the second day my scarf smelled even more where I can smell chocolates and vanilla. The smell is magical and enigmatic, the sweet smell with a hint of piquancy that gives the effect of sparkling and not bland, quite different from the sister Pink Sugar. <3 I feel very good in him. The type of beast as I left Sugar in the series. scent 9/10 very long lasting scent. Power!

Another blind buy which i'm glad i bought it yet i never regret and sure will repeat. A gorgeous scent in a simple pink frosted bottle. I bought it at fragranceX at very cheap price and it was a tester. I dont need the fancy box (though the box/canister seems so nice) since it is my own collection. So after 5 days waiting this gem delivered to me in Malaysia. Finally, the await is over. I bought 2 Aquolina Sugar range (that was the only stock they have at that time). I bought pink sugar and simply sugar (both are tester). The pink sugar, from the noz you already can smell the sweetness which is i loveeeeeeeeee so much. So i decided to try simply pink first bcoz i can't smell it from it's noz. I push the noz very tender and gentle... yeaahh i dont want to ruin this baby ahahaha since it is new unused tester unit. So i spritz 1 time. Then the fun started to begin... zesty, delicious, fresh, a bit citrusy in a nice way.. it is so berries flavor... then within an hour the floraly-sweet takes its role... you can smell sweet flavor but not to sugary... it is more vanilla... sweet but not to overpowering. And it stays for hours till reaches the dry down... super nice. I cant tell yet which one i prefer between pink sugar or simply pink. Since both has similiarities but different sensation. Later will update my review...

I'm very happy with this delicious fragrance! I tend to like all the Aquolina fragrance line and have loved Pink Sugar for years. This one, is very similar - but the differences are noteworthy. Anyone who likes Pink Sugar, but doesn't like that stronger 'burnt sugar' note are going to love this. It's like Pink Sugar, with the 'in your face' qualities removed. I especially wanted to try it because I love strawberry and raspberry in anything and this definitely doesn't disappoint! The fruitiness is great, but is well balanced by the other notes. From the composition, you might think it's only something teens could wear, but I think this could go for any age. It has a great sweetness, but doesn't feel overly young to me. A much better fragrance than something like 'Viva La Juicy' - which to me just screams 'young teenage girl'. Not as long-lasting as the original Pink Sugar - mostly because it's just a softer scent to begin with - but I got my bottle for $18.00 on Ebay - so at that price I can spray as often as I need to :)

Thank you sooo much to the review down below that said this is very similar to Animale Love 💕 AL is my fave and it's hard to find now and sellers have hiked up the price to ridiculous amounts that I refuse to ever pay. So I now have my replacement and it is identical to Animale Love. It's more floral than it is gourmand but better than regular pink sugar. I prefer sweet florals so a gourmand with florals that show themselves, is right up my alley. I will be stocking up on this! I love this strawberry shortcake land fragrance! It's so sweet and comforting. It reminds me of me, the person I was before I learned about the cruelties in the world. I must've had a doll that smelled like this back in the 80s. Oh and funny thing, before I discovered this, i purchased Creamy Sunshine and I fell in love with that one and my first thought was this is so ultra related to Animale Love they could be flankers! Then I discover Simply Pink and it is related to creamy sunshine! I love both of them! Far better than the original.

This is definitely without a doubt 100% better than the original Pink sugar. It is not as cloyingly sweet and has a nice pop of freshness provided by the green notes and an air of softness thanks to the almond. Licorice is still ever present in the initial spray, and still settles quite heavily on the skin, but for me the sillage is much softer and less spicy/offensive than the original. The praline accord replacing the caramel in the original is a nice touch as it gives the scent a bite of saltiness and feels more sensual. My mouth waters when I smell my wrists. This is what the original Pink Sugar should have smelled like! **UPDATE: I am absolutely in love with this version of Pink Sugar. It smells SO MUCH BETTER than the original. I would often get a burnt licorice note lingering on me for hours which made me end up hating the original Pink Sugar, but this flanker doesn't do that at all. I have been reaching for it more and more lately and for the $19 price tag I really am not complaining. Love!

Sweet Perfection! I love that I can detect the lovely white flowers beneath the raspberry!! The vanilla peeks through frequently, as well. Unlike many other people here, I do not smell licorice. Wheres the licorice?? That fact I can't detect any is a total plus for me. As much as I love licorice-and I really do, I do not want to smell of it!! I find "Simply Pink" much more versatile than Pink Sugar Original. Although I love the original, it has a heavy musk bottom to it that sometimes turns my stomach. Simply Pink smells fresher, crisper in a fashion that does not give me a head or tummyache!! I myself would wear this to work. It is youthful but I don't feel it is age defined. It has a free spirited soul that is perfect for sunny. outdoorsy days on the weekend. I had a dream I was wearing this in the city. When I lived in Boston, I would spend days out in the sunshine checking out book and thrift shops and going to Bon au Pain. Great for women and (men) with a heart of a child!!

I was very curious about this one and found it on ebay.de at a great price. When I first sprayed it on I found it almost identical to the original Pink Sugar, but when I sprayed the orignal on the other arm the difference was notable, especially as the scent developed. At first I noticed the familiar sweet top notes, but there are no burnt sugar, then I get a fizzy cherry note, despite cherry is not listed. As the scent settles a raspberry hard candy note appears and becomes prominent. After three hours the scent is almost gone, but on the other arm I still feel the sweet musk and caramel base notes of the original. Aquolina Simply Pink is all about the pink fruits, the liquorice and sugar from the original is toned down. It is true to its name - Simply Pink, this is Pink Sugar minus the sugar. A daytime version suitable for warmer days - harmless but pleasant. :)

You spray it and you think that this will disappear on you in 30 minutes, but, surprisingly, it gets more vibrant and prominent as it dries down. The scent itself is very nostalgic. I am quite sure it smells like something I used to wear in the past but cannot figure out what it was yet. This is a very delicate scent, yet feminine with character. It is not anything like sweet fruity tropical scents, more floral and a little bit tangy but in good way. You definitely smell the jasmine and raspberry but not in a syrupy synthetic manner, just fresh and natural raspberry. I would say the majority of women from all ages would enjoy this scent because it is not too much in any aspect, yet offers good projection and longevity. A very safe purchase and would recommend it to all girls out there looking for a summer fragrance.

So pleasantly surprised by this one - sweet and tart, delicious and almost edible. After trying the original Pink Sugar and being disappointed by its synthetic generic sweetness I took a spritz from this tacky-looking pink bottle with pretty much zero expectations, but it turned out to be so very nice. Lots of reviews say that it's almost identical to Pink Sugar, but I don't smell that. It's more of Escada DNA for me - sweet and fruity, but fresh and green at the same time. But if you try it you'll have to bear through the first 10 minutes of a little bit of tire-factory going on. I guess that's a signature trait of all Aquolina sugars. But the "tires" disappear quite fast and you're left with berry-praline-almond goodness that lasts.

I am a big fan of the original pink sugar and saw this version in a chemist while up in lismore,I ended up buying this and I love it,it definitely has the same base as pink sugar but it's has an added fruitiness to it which sometimes comes across as a bit on the strawberry jam side with the peppery spiciness and vanilla,like its predecessor it has good longevity and smells great on my skin,I was lucky I found this while in Lismore because I live in Sydney and I haven't seen this in any stores there at the moment,but overall I love the combination of the original pink sugar notes with the new jam like fruit notes within simply pink and think it's just as nice as the original pink sugar.

I wore this one yesterday. I had forgotten about it as I've preferred other frags over time and had somewhat forgotten about this one. I really like this. It's great for spring/summer. It has a definite fizzy quality, like club soda. It's not as tooth achingly sweet as the OG. Interesting reading the comments below...I see a few people that detect a slight hint of oud in this. I don't get that at all. I promise you that if I smelled even the slightest smidgen of oud in here, I'd be running for the hills to get away from this. Um, or I could just stay where I'm at and post it on Mercari. I hate oud. I don't smell it at all in here. But, smell is very subjective so YMMV. 🤷♀️

i adore Simply Pink! Probably that pink lemonade vibe. I often don't like lemon notes, but it fits here and that praline almond note is unexpected! I love anything with almond or praline. It is really unique. One of the best blind buys ever! It kind of reminds me of Hanae Mori in a way. That's more the night time or special occasion version and this the daytime/casual version. This will get a lot of use this summer and fresh out of the shower. Edit: There is some sourness in the opening that can be kind of a turn off at times, but it’s so unique and I really like sour drinks and candy so I’ll put up with it. That may explain some of the negative reviews.

Simply Pink is Pink Sugar's little sister. She wants to be all grown up like Pink, she sneaks into her room and tries on her perfume. But...you can still find her picking flowers, chasing the dog, chewing on raspberry twists and peeling the candy layers off liquorice allsorts. She still likes to climb trees and hides amongst the leaves whilst sneaking peeks at the boy next door. He used to be her best friend but now she can't stand him since he tried to kiss her but neither can she forget... Simply Pink is fun and it sparkles with the memories of youth. It is green, tangy, fruity and hidden in the depth as always, irresistible Pink Sugar.

This is the first perfume i bought and it will always remind me of university, being a girl trying to become an adult and navigating life, learning responsibility for the very first time. It is so sweet, but the soft spiciness holds it down. I dont like licorice most times but i can make an exception for this one i think its nice. Its very cozy, powdery, fruit candy like, and it feels just like autumn and you spilled red berry fruit punch on someone’s cashmere sweater right before they pull you in for a hug. a formative chapter of my life bottled. One caveat, It gives me a headache when i overspray so beware people, she’s strong!

I went to buy BS Fantasy Intimate Ed. and saw this. Didn't know it existed (The original is TOO sweet for me) so I tried them both. Now I have to pick one (BOO) and I went with this one but I will wear it a day or two and see what it does on my skin. I didn't like the initial spray of Fantasy I.E. but the dry down is pretty amazing (as I write this and it finally settles) so... I do like the licorice in Simply Pink but we'll see...

Oh I simply love this perfume. The dry down scent is calm and sweet. On the first spray I got lots of citrus but after a few moments the vanilla and pralines made their appearance. It's perfect for anytime of the day. So I've worn this a few times and I just love it. I sprayed some on a jacket the other day and the scent is still as sweet. It smells like a vanilla cupcake and cotton candy rolled into one.

I would say this is a lighter and fresher version of aquolina's original pink sugar. This is a much softer fragrance. To me this could be the summer version or day time version of the original. If you like the original then you will like this. I am a collector of the aquolina 'sugar' fragrances and I enjoy them all. A very affordable and great quality Italian brand of perfume.

This is so nice! Yes, pink sugar but not as intense with the sweet smell. I’m just glad I don’t smell burnt sugar in this like I did with PS. They are very alike, though. I’d recommend this over pink sugar... PS: this lasted 8+ hours on my skin! I could smell it a little the next day

I love Simply Pink, just got it yesterday. Exactly the scent I was hoping for : sweet but not too "sugary" like Pink Sugar. Fresher and more fruity. Surprinsingly, it's kind of long lasting (4-5 hours, I was expecting less, based on reviews here), and it's great on my skin.

Just purchased this as a blind buy as the edt was on clearance at a great price. I really love it. It's very sweet and light . Smells like fresh baked sugar cookies. I find you can generously spray this fragrance on and it's not overpowering. Great for warm weather.

As much as all my friends love this smell, they always think it's too strong but I don't care i love this perfume so much that there is no way to explain it. And it doest have a sweet smell I think it's bitter and I like that.

Sweet. Reminds me of apple juice, or blueberry waffles. Love this since I first smelled it at Ulta. Long lasting. Does not smell like the OG. Sweet, but a different kind of sweet. A fruitier, less vanilla-ish sweet.

This is a keeper! Smooth and creamy love it...the dry down is my fave but I do enjoy the beginning to end which is not the case for me in most perfumes that don't cost a ton. This one is perfect for my tastes.

A very nice, slightly fruity version of the original pink sugar. But they smell actually so alike, and since the original one is stronger and better in terms of longevity, I will stick to that one...

It is a lighter and more fruity version of Pink sugar. The cotton candy is there even if it is not listed.

Simply Pink- Pink sugar Aquolina - The box was outside when it was -14c out with wind chill. The perfumes were cold. I don't know if that would make a difference. The liquid is in a roller ball vial and was very thick when I first tried it, so it might have frozen. Still, after a few hours, it's thick, so maybe the roller ball is a different formula than the spray? I'm really disappointed by this one. At first, it smells like a citrus cleaner (almost like a porta-potty) with some sweetness, not nice for a body. It's cheap smelling. I find the OG pink sugar smalls amazingly warm and sweet, but not cheap. It smells like it is a flanker once it settles after an hour or so.I thought the raspberry and almond would be more prominent, but they're not. The praline is probably what makes it smell sweet and dessert-like. Luckily the licorice isn't really detectable, as I don't like it in perfumes (think Lolita Lempita yuck). It's mostly a soft fruity scent, I don't get much spice if any. I am hoping that I try it again I'll like it. I would NOT keep it if gifted. It's just okay I think I'd be better in the daytime during cooler months BC it is a bit heavy smelling, it could be day or night, it's femme. Overall just an okay scent. I can understand how people like it though. I don't think it would last long. It's a nice bottle; frosted gradient pink to yellow. It's a bit young smelling at maybe 15-20 years old. It's a bit overpriced at $45 for 100ml. You can easily get the OG 100ml for $20. It's hard to find, likely BC the short longevity made it fiscally unreasonable to keep making.edit: months later and it still has a thick consistency, so maybe a regular spray would be better than the roller ball.

Delicious cake! I was taken aback with how much I like this. ''Pink Lemonade'' opening & ''Strawberry Shortcake Barbie'' dry-down is the PERFECT way to sum up 'Simply Pink'. On my skin the opening is very tart, super-citrusy, green raspberries...like lime or lemons. So refreshing, like you opened a can of chilled, fizzy lemonade on a hot summer's day! Within 5 minutes it gets sweeter...and my nose picks up a slightly-sweet, juicy strawberry...then the fragrance slowly develops into almond playdough / retro 80s-90s dollhead that is reminiscent of 'Love' by Killian, but not fully. It's like almond cake!!! 'Simply Pink' never loses the citrus or juicy fruit facets, quite scrumptious! This is oddly satisfying and gives me hardcore nostalgia whenever I spritz. This lacks the heavy, cloying and burnt characteristics of the original without losing the DNA. 'Simply Pink' is actually MORE gourmand than the original. YUMMY! Side note: 'Creamy Sunshine' is #1 for me due to how multifaceted and surprisingly complex it gets in the dry-down :)

I was excited to find this at Ulta today, I was wondering if it would ever be available for sniffing in my area! I am a Huge fan of the original Pink Sugar, it is what I wear nine days out of ten. I took a sniff of the bottle liked what I smelled and immediately sprayed it on my wrist. This is strait up "Pink Sugar lite" on me, seriously nothing much is different except it smells lighter. I like it but can't see the point in buying it as it is so similar to Pink Sugar. The sillage is a bit less than PS on me but the longevity is just as good (8 hours plus!). Maybe I will get a small bottle as I own all of the other PS incarnations, it will round out my collection! ;0) As a huge plus, Ulta had the illusive Pink Sugar hair perfume!! I havn't seen it at Sephora for ages and it was great to see that Ulta carries it, I bought the last bottle they had until their shipment comes in on Monday.

I have mixed feelings on this little gem. I sometimes crave it and at first the HEAVY strawberry and raspberry mixed together satisfy my craving immediately. After a few minutes, however, it begins to remind me of cough syrup. Or maybe even a Strawberry Shortcake doll I owned back in the 80's, fresh out of the box. It may be a heavy vanilla note that comes on too strong for me...but it's still a lovely scent if you like the signature strong Aquolina fragrances. I'm a HUGE fan of Pink Sugar and though most say they'd wear Simply Pink in the warmer months I think it would smell amazing in the fall and colder months of the year. If you're going for summer months then go VERY sparingly. Aquolina is known for going on strong and lasting forever...SP is no exception.

Raspberry Torte (Strawberry Shortcake Doll) in a bottle! This perfume is different, a little odd IMO but still fun and yummy. It absolutely does NOT smell like Pink Sugar (IMO) ... the bergamot note makes this fragrance tart - cutting the sweetness. It's a light scent, something I wear when I'm feeling nostalgic (80's kid, Tinkerbell lipstick scent) and don't want to commit to a fragrance because it doesn't last. I love Pink Sugar and figured this one would be a winner too ... but no. I don't wear this fragrance often but when I do it is during the cooler months since it tends to go sour on me. Would I buy it again ...? No, but I hardly wear it so, I'll probably have it forever.

The only similarity I smell in this is the sweetness. This is not cotton candy, burnt sugar or any of the notes that make Pink Sugar. This is juicy red and pink berries to me. Fresh, fun and uplifting. The almond adds traditional sugary sweetness in a very authentic, natural way. I don't smell any powdery vibes or creaminess that almond often adds to fragrances, which is a good thing! The praline adds depth to the sweetness of this perfume. I wouldn't recommend this in hot temps as it could become cloying. I like this a lot and would repurchase. I understand the dislike from those who were expecting a Pink Sugar flanker. This give me more Escada vibes than Pink Sugar.

Where Pink Sugar is cotton candy/caramel sugary, Simply Pink is almondy fizzy sweet. Not as sugary as PS but still yummy smelling. Picture autumn and desserts and that's what Simply Pink is to me. It's a little younger but very easy to wear for everyday. Lasting power isn't super strong which I like because I won't overwhelm anyone with it. It's kind of a "just follows you around lightly all day" type of scent. I prefer this to Pink Sugar because it's less popular. Its a really cute pinky scent.

More of a fruity sweet scent with the DNA of Pink Sugar. Although it is not one of the notes but I also detect musk and is a lot more powdery than I expected.The licorice note seems to overpower the fruitier notes and the vanilla is noted in the background. Projection strong and longevity is actually quite good with 6 hours plus. This is slightly more grownup than Pink Sugar but not my favourite of the Pink Sugar line.

I blind-bought this for fun, following a recommendation on one of the Forum games here. I prefer this to the original Pink Sugar - this is a bit softer and easier to wear, and I love the almond note. Made me smile receiving this today in the post, because the scent reminded me of the little tulle bags of sugared almonds on tables at weddings (including mine, just over 16 years ago!). A great springtime pick-me-up!🌸

I could never decide if I liked the original Pink Sugar. Part of me liked it, but it seemed too strong and I didn't like that burnt smell. I rarely wear it because of these things. HOWEVER, I think this new version, Simply Pink, has the best features of the original Pink Sugar but it's softer and no burnt smell. It is all of the original Pink Sugar I like, without the parts I don't like. Very happy!

It really depends on the weather at my skin. During winter it smells like vanilla and then it lasts at about 2 hours. During spring it lasts more than 8 hours and I can smell the almonds, vanilla and licorice along with a hit of rasberry. I really like it. Altough its scent it is more autumny or wintery, I have to wear it at spring or on a warmer day, so its full potential and longevity comes out.

If Pink Sugar had a younger sister Simply Pink would be it. She wants to be all grown up like Pink, she sneaks into her room and tries on her perfume. But...she still wants to play It's a little fruitier and fizzier than the original and it includes two of my favorite notes...raspberry and strawberry. Lasts for ages and projection is good too.

Lovely, I smell a lot when it's first sprayed versus when it's dried down. At first, It smelt like the blueberry muffin doll I had when I was little, once it started to dry down it smelt like lemonade but with a hint of the og pink sugar in the background. So overall, I like it and will wear it sooner or during the spring :)

It's the airy chiffon whipped topping on the Pink Sugar cake. You can still taste the cake, but Simply Pink is lighter and more airy, with more raspberry and less heavy, heavy cream. I love a good gourmand but Pink Sugar was too much for me. Simply Pink is just right.

I blind bought it. It's quite close to Pink sugar, indeed. It has the same attitude, the burnt rubber sensation, but this one is lacking caramel. It's replaced by some bitter almonds and fruits. I enjoy it and it lasts acceptably long, but I prefer the original :)

To me, Simply Pink is literally the simple version of the original Pink Sugar. It's fresh, playful, berrylicious, and still so very "pink." It lacks the alluring warmth of the original, which I prefer. It's a sweet, fun, youthful fragrance.

Just purchased this, and found that it is perfect to pair with philosophy’s “unconditional love!” They complement and enhance each other beautifully. So glad the licorice note is very understated. An excellent buy!

A nice daywear fragrance! Sweet but not too much. I can smell candy-like red fruits with some sugar (yeah, a hard candy, sweet and sour), and, I dare to say it...leather?!?

I really enjoyed this scent because it provoked memories of eating raspberry Laffy Taffys as a child. If you want to smell like a candy shop, then this is the way to go.

Pink lemonade! I love it. Again, just as with Black Sugar, the notes are a bit deceiving imo. Lighter, fruity-citrus version of the OG Pink Sugar.

Pink lemonade & pralines. Decent performance, but comes across kinda cloying after a while.
