Amiri

In a nutshell, it smells like an amalgamation of Dunhill Icon (OG) and Cartier Declaration Essence, two of my all time favourite cardamom scents! Strangely there is no cardamom listed..... This is a gentleman's scent, suave, debonair, luscious smelling, one of the best releases from the House of Arabian Oud. Amiri cannot be construed to be a fresh scent simply, it is much more complex than that. An evolving fragrance which starts off with a fresh burst of pink pepper, tangerine and bergamot and slowly meshes into the woody and patchouli notes. Most of the AO releases have musk and vanilla in the drydown and this one is no different. This a thick oily scent which sticks close the skin, but is a progressive journey of olfactory notes throughout. My only gripe is that, three of AO releases have more or less the same drydown, Al Fareed, Diwan and Amiri, makes you wonder why..... All seasonal scent? for sure, for sure, works in any weather and any time of the day Unisex? Completely masculine IMO Blind buy worthy? If you like Dunhill Icon and Cartier Declaration, hell yeah! Performance? Longevity is easily 7 to 8 hours on skin, with moderate projection Price? Steeply priced at around USD 170, be sure to get it in the 45 - 50% sale, which occurs like four times an year, which is what I usually do :) A very heavy bottle, can be used as a weapon later on! The packaging and box would make it an ideal gift also. If Arabian Oud are to start releasing testers, the price would fall by half !

I've had this for over two years now, along with Al Fareed and Sultani (or the better part of two years for the latter.) There are similarities between the three, particularly the use of pink pepper, bergamot, and a variation of a few other notes, but they typically differ in their late stages. Al Fareed has a noticeable ambergris note whereas Sultani turns into a dry sandalwood prominent base and Amiri a creamy amber. All three are distinguished, classy scents though I would say Amiri may be the most versatile. While the review below notes Sultani is a light floral rose and oud (it's not, it's sandalwood) fragrance, I'd point out that it, too, has bergamot, pink pepper, and tangerine in the top notes. Nevertheless, despite the similarities at the start, they do go on very different journeys.

Amiri is a Middle Eastern take on Freshie. This Fragrance is truly a masterpiece. It smells regal. The bottle and the package weights around 5 KG. This is a heavy bottle. Magnetic top. Everything about this fragrance from the bottle to the packaging to the smell is absolute Royal. Beware dont drop this bottle on your foot. You would end up with a fracture. Silage on this is enormous. Room filling but not in your face. When you spray this everyone around you would smell you. Its silage and projection is so sophisticated. Joy Amin reviewed this and i totally agréé with him . This is created for Prince.

This exudes mature alpha male. A fantastic opening, smells rich and confident and bright. Projects well. Hours 2 to 6 it fades to a lovely smooth masculine musk, with some citric brightness and spiciness in the background. Still wafts well at this stage. Then fades to a skin scent for a few more hours. It's beautifully made, but there's something familiar about it... It's a kind of a cross between sauvage and tygar, but smoother and classier than that sounds. I bought a bottle after wearing it a few times. Genuinely love it.

The best citrus frag I ever smelled. Shame it does not last long or project heavily like the rest of Arabian Oud bottles. It's sweet creamy and very well balanced. It has a bit of chocolate pudding vibe to it from patchouli. Creamy powdery sandalwood, white musk, and great sweet amber elevates it beautifully. It leans masculine but I think middle age ladies can rock this easily. Also it has a great pressurized atomizer. Year-round, date night, office safe scent. I would say it smells super high quality perfection.

Sorry guys Nothing in this fragrance reminds me of blue Chanel or any other blue bottled fragrance on earth. This is very regal scent, remind me a lot of Amouage jubilation without the incense note & replaced berries with tangerines. This is my real interpretation as I have both, but my gut tells me that, it is inspired by dunhil icon based on the metal cap shape. (Never tried icon) This is solid 8/10 , the only downside is the excessive packaging, wish it had more juice rather than the heavy packaging.

So let me Start by saying it's very underrated as all the fragrances from Arabian oud! I've never seen a scent that is done this smoothly! longevity is 8-10 hours, projection is not very loud on this one but within an arm, don't you worry you'll be noticed by people If you want the most simplistic complex fragrance(you'll understand this once you try it;) that works for day and night also for all seasons, You need to give this one a try And by the way it's a great compliment getter!

This is my first review and I had to do it because this fragrance deserves it. I'm no fragrance connoisseur and I won't be able to talk about the fancy notes. I can only tell how this feels to me and that's "Rich". You put this on and you'll fell like a Million bucks, no pun intended and no this doesn't smell like BDC or Sauvage or anything that I've come across. This one gets you noticed in the good way, with amazing silage and performance. Worth a blind buy IMO.

@BAYEZID61....did you give it a chance to macerate? I have several arabian oud frags. As high quality as they are, they are sometimes night and day from first spray and several weeks of maceration. I was not that impressed with thie one when I first tried either. But after trying it after 1 mo. Then 3 mo. and roughly 6 mo after, it is one of my go to scents now. But there could be reformulation as a culprit too. My bottle is from 2024.

I agree with the reviewer below me, this smells NOTHING like Mefisto lol. It does smell like something I've smelled before, but I can't quite figure out what. What I do know is this smells really good. Actually, it does remind me of a cross between LNDL and the new Barcelona by City Rhythm. Not a bad combo at all, this is pretty good. But the longevity does not seem to be there, which is unfortunately is what others have said.

This is by far the BEST fresh/elegant fragrance in my entire colection. It is truly STUNNING, it's like L immensite by LV but like in a NICHE STYLED version. It's has a lot of body, a lot character. this a SAFE BLIND BUY, there is no way you go wrong with this MASTERPIECE. Very pleased by the price and premium packaging. This bottle literally weighs 2 kilos with a super premium feeling. TOTALLY in LOVE.

Just got this a few days ago and it has a lovely scent but I must agree that it is very close to the skin. Not a great performer. Presentation and quality of the juice are top notch. 11/30 - Update: Have been getting a bit of Dior Sauvage Elixir vibes due to the nutmeg. Loving this scent and longevity has improved. Projection still moderate at best but at arms length people will smell you.

How can people say this underperforms! This is one of the best performing fragrances in my 150+ collection. Spray it on in the morning and on a summer day this lasts till well into the evening. It just gets better and better. One of my top three fragrances. But I'd like a little less heavy bottle, please. It's such a hassle to bring on holidays :-)

This cedar and nutmeg combination rocks. This reminds me of Clive Christian 150th Anniversary Contemporary because of that cedar and nutmeg combination. Amiri is what that fragrance wishes it was. Amiri is more complex with a fresh kick of citrus at the top. This fragrance is immaculate, very strong and masculine with an aromatic freshness.

Citrusy and fresh blast of cardamom. Poor performace, especially for the comparatively high price point and amazing packaging -- full metal, magnetic cap, great atomizer and all that. (Dont use lotioned hands to pick up the perfume, it might slip and fall off lmao) Update : it lasts an eternity now, I take all that back.

This is the best fragrance that I own. It is not a regular wear fragrance. Would not recommend wearing this during the heat. Suitable for special occasions. Apply after the sun goes down for better projection. I recommend everyone to give this a try. You will not regret it, trust me. A masterpiece from Arabian Oud

Luxury at its best, very well blended fragrance and one of the smoothest nicest i ever came across. Performancewise its above average for sure and a superb daily driver for office or regular days. Gatekeeper? Yep! For those seeking a stinky beast, keep searching, strong performers often lacks of the nice smell.

This is a really well-rounded fragrance! Amiri starts off bright and citrusy with the tangerine and bergamot, then mellows into this warm, spicy amber and vanilla scent. The sandalwood adds a touch of creaminess, and it lasts all day on my skin. I get compliments on it all the time!

I felt the opening almost smelled like penhaligon's blennom boutique. That might be the tangerine, pink pepper, patchouli. Definitely a masculine but very smooth, well-blended fragrence. I blind bought this and it's a keeper. I cant stop smelling this. Very nice and worth the wait.

I really don’t want to overcomplicate this, so I’m just going to hipfire. The first thing I thought of what I sprayed it was “oh, a citrus version of Tom ford oud wood” - that might help give you the vibe. Most fragrances I buy these days are catch and release. This is a keeper.

Just buy it, one of the best frangraces period and the best of this house by far! Smells regal and one of my most complimented! Nothing like it! Among my "will always own list" which includes many Boadiceas ! Enought said 10/10 and very few deserve that ranking.

Projection at first is strong then dies out over time. But is an amazing everyday fragrance. Good for formal occasions, gatherings, work... pretty much anywhere and anytime. Diwan may be a better option but I find the scent here to be a bit more mass appealing.

UPDATED REVIEW: The more Amiri stays on the shelf it projects more and becomes longer lasting. Mine has been staying on the shelf around 5 months. I can get the smell on my skin for more than 15 hours. Phenomenal perfumery. Amiri definitely worths to try.

Classy, versatile, easy to wear, inoffensive... Nothing to hate about. Blended to perfection. You can wear this day & night in all seasons. Longevity and projection is disappointing but still worth it if you can get it on discount.

Imagine the most opulent and luxurious bed linen with a citrus and smooth vanilla. As someone who doesn't like overpriced, fresh and moderate projecting perfumes.....this is a must in my collection. Worth every single cent.

This is by far one of the best fragrances I've ever smelled period. An upscale classy dumb reach with a faint middle eastern touch. If I ever run out of this juice I will be beyond pissed.

Smells lovely but quickly becomes a skin scent. If it performed better I'd recommend it to anyone, as it is, you should definitely try before you buy.

This is a 98% clone of Rituals Nuit d'azar. The difference is that this one is one level up in performance. It can be worn all seasons. A must try!

Nice ambery musk...dries and settles down way better than the opening. Won't fill a room, but who wants to do that anyways?

Amiri is a fragrance you have to be patient with in two ways, and if you can be patient it'll be worth it. I encourage people who are thinking of buying to read this review because I have felt a lot of the ways people below felt. While I am sure many of the recent 5-10 reviews are honest to their experiences, I'm not sure they paint a full picture. So here's a robust review that may or may not help fill in the blanks. To start: #1: The fragrance you get when you first buy it, is not the true fragrance. You need to spray it 4/5 of times to either clear the atomiser, or get some air in the bottle, and then let it sit for a few weeks or a month. It takes this process for all of the notes to eventually open up. (I don't want to use the term maceration because while I understand what it means, I don't want to pretend I know the ins and outs of perfumery and chemistry, or act as if I know for a fact that is what happened to my bottle.) But I do know this process to be true because I had *two* bottles, bought at the same time. When I first sprayed my main bottle, I was VERY disappointed. It didn't smell rich, luxurious, classy and as smooth and sweet as reviews I had read and watched said. It was supposed to be this absolute killer, high-end smelling fragrance that you could imagine a "prince" wearing (hence the name "Amiri" = Prince), and it wasn't. It was... kind of a mess. Peppery, woody and honestly, not very nice. Stale is the word I would use. It smelled STALE. I was more than disappointed. For the price I paid I was frankly pissed off. But I put my bottle with the rest of my collection and tried to forget about it so it didn't feel like a waste of money. Then a few weeks later... I smell the Amiri atomiser, and I could smell things I didn't smell in the first 4 or 5 sprays... I could smell the tangerine. I could smell some vanilla. It smelled sweet... smooth... the COMPLETE opposite of my initial sprays. So I sprayed it on skin and BAM... I understood what the "hype" was. Amiri smelled and smells fantastic. So I thought, "let me get the backup bottle". I opened the box and smelled the atomiser of the 2nd bottle, and what did I smell? A stale, peppery, almost bitter mess that I immediately recognised as my disappointing first impression. So the first tip - if you get a newer bottle (my batch is May '23), don't think the initial sprays represent the true fragrance. Wait until it settles and breathes and then decide whether its for you or not. On to the second tip... #2: In terms of longevity and projection/sillage - I can only speak on the most recent batches; this is not a beast in terms of projection. I can't speak on older batches because I've never tried them. But I will say this: It is a very high concentration fragrance in regards to fragrance oils. When you spray this on skin, you will have an oily sheen on you that is very visible for quite a long time. Well over an hour of shine. It is a high concentration fragrance, but not a "powerful" concentration fragrance. It lasts a long time because of those oils, but does not jump off of your skin for that same reason. Because the oils are present on your skin, it's a heavier composition, so it is more about sillage than projection. Moving around, or the breeze catching parts of your body or clothes that you sprayed are going to carry the fragrance, and not the typical projection from "beast mode" fragrances that jump off your skin and fill a space with their aroma chemicals and molecules. This is more of a comfortable, consistent scent-bubble around you fragrance, and one that will waft behind and around you pleasantly as you move, not one that fills a room you walk into, or one that announces your presence before you've even entered type, like OFG or BR540. I'm sure if I sprayed it a lot more, it'd be closer to 'strong' in terms of projection, but in my first experiences with a fragrance I tend to underspray and work my way up to find the sweet spot. Longevity (on skin): Long-lasting, easily. Projection: Moderate Sillage: A little above average Do I wish it was a little stronger? Especially in terms of projection? Yes I do. I'd be lying if I said I didn't. But I also understand that for this scent style, and this scent-profile, it makes sense that it isn't a beast. This is a respectful, subtle yet statement making fragrance, and the way it smells matches the performance style. It is not an indoor/outdoor, party-boy beast. This isn't a "boss" scent. It's not a finance-bro, loud, flashy "look at me, notice me" fragrance. This is more understated but impactful. It smells more like somebody you only see once or twice a month and then you ask who they are and it turns out they own the building, and not the person you see everyday who feels the need to tell you he's in charge every time he speaks. Amiri is the Prince who is actually a decent guy, and not the Prince who everybody thinks is an a**hole. Arabian Oud often has sales - I would recommend waiting for a sale before buying it. If it was a beastly projector, it would be worth full retail, but because it is just a long-lasting but moderate performer sillage/projection-wise, I'd say buy it on sale. I think it's a 9/10 fragrance. Very close to a 10. It smells absolutely incredible, and should absolutely be tried or sampled.

UPDATE REVIEW: You can scroll down a little to see my previous review (05/25/24), which is long, detailed, and touches partially on what this updated review is about - projection and sillage. My bottle is a May 2023 batch, so it is now 1 year and 4 months old. In my previous review I stated that the projection and sillage of Amiri is "moderate". Whether it is because time has passed and my juice is changing, or because I am becoming more patient with the fragrance itself, but I would now say that on the Fragrantica scale it is somewhere between "moderate" and "strong", and closer to "strong". This is a *very* sneaky fragrance in terms of sillage and projection... the definition of anosmic. If you keep smelling it up close and bury your face in the places you've sprayed it your brain will completely block it out, almost immediately. But if you spray it and let the scent come to you, you won't be able to stop smelling it. It is not heavy and overwhelming fragrance - it is an Arab take on a freshie - so it doesn't have heavy, oud-y, pungent or striking notes to it. Because of that I think it is easy to go nose blind to, and easy to not realise that you are smelling it all around you, or filling a room. But while it is not heavy, it is *very* present. As I type this I have two sprays on the back of my left hand. I do not have to wave my hand close to my nose, or even move my hand. But every 10-15 seconds, when I'm not thinking about the fragrance - BAM - I catch it. And this is happening constantly. It keeps coming back over and over again, radiating off of my hand and releasing wafts of amber-y, lightly musky, nutmeg, and citric-vanillic sweetness into the air.

Amiri by Arabian Oud is a paradox of a fragrance that has me feeling ambivalent. The notes shouldn't work together but they do. It somehow smells basic and familiar yet unique and different at the simultaneously. It's like that “suicide” soda we mixed as kids at the soda fountain where you combine all the sodas together and you'd think that they shouldn’t work together but somehow did. It’s fun, memorable, and hits in the moment. But like that childhood mix, I could see this fragrance having its time, leaving behind a fond memory, rather than standing forever as a timeless classic or daily staple. But I'm in my Amiri phase and for the moment, I am enjoying it. One thing I have noticed though is that there is a sharpness in the citrus similar to that in Sospiro Vibrato. I am not a perfumer but it seems consistent to have that sharpness in any citrus-heavy fragrance with decent longevity. Because of that I could see it being a bit screechy for some and I'd recommend spraying on skin and not on clothes. It seems to smell better on my skin and hold on to too much of that sour part of the citrus on clothes. While I think it does smell nice overall I do not get the "rich" "opulent" "luxury" or "money" vibes from this that a lot of people seem to associate with this fragrance. I have only had it for about a week and a half so I will continue to wear and see if my opinion changes or if it grows on me.

It's a well-done, unmistakeably male, relatively unremarkable fragrance. It smells good but it lacks that WOW factor making it great for everyday use - work and casual outings. Very good atomiser with well-distributed mist and an absolute brick of a bottle. My bottle opens with a slightly sour citrus and a strong peppery note transitioning into a musky, spiicy and amber scent in the drydown. There's next to no sweetness here despite the presence of tangerine and vanilla in the note breakdown. Probably best for spring as exposure to humid summer heat all but eliminated it within 3hrs of application. Lasted for up to 6hrs when utilised in cooler environment. Projected well for 1st hour and then dropped to moderate projection for another hour before becoming skin scent. In summary, good quality daily driver fragrance with sour citrus, pepper, musk, spices and amber as the most prominent notes. Better for air-conditioned environments or spring.

I do enjoy this but unfortunately, I'm joining the underperformance chorus. I take care of my skin, use lotion, just to quickly qualify. It does smell great, but really only projects for about 3 hours before becoming a skin scent. I would be willing to forgive the performance if the scent profile matched. This is a BOSS scent: Masculine, confident, rich, bold. This isn't wallflower vibes, this should be pushing out. Not every fragrance needs to be beast mode but this is subpar. Definitely sample first. If you love it and can find it close to $100-120, may be worth it. Great packaging and bottle!

I’ve had this for a couple years and just pulled it out tonite after a shower. Opening always has a bright, citrusy-sweet blast and musk. The atomizer is amazing. You can literally paint your entire arm with one squeeze. The longer I own this, the more I find it leans toward a younger audience. I now only wear 4 sprays (it can be loud if oversprayed) while wearing jeans/white t-shirt for running errands - anytime I can move and won’t stick around too long. Very crowd pleasing. Best for Spring.

I only got a sample of it and upon the first few hours it kept bringing back memories of my Jubilation XXV. The luscious musk, amber and vanilla/patchouli combo surrounding the syrupy fruit (like plum) is causing this recollection. Granted, I sold my Jub. XXV a few years ago, so take my memory trigger with a grain of salt. As far as performance, it's constantly making itself present, so I think sillage is good.

One spray... that's all you need. This stuff is rich and sophisticated. It screams money. The presentation is top tier. The only problem I have is that its hard to properly apply so little. I like to do wrists, neck, and shirt. Thats a problem when you only need one spray.

I think its definitely a well rounded fragrance. There’s nothing standing out, but nothing wrong with it. Could use for variety of occasions, casual/dining. Definitely a solid.
