Gharam

I bought this thinking it was a men's cologne. Based on the scent it could definetly be considered unisex. The main accords in this perfume are, in order: 1. Citrus 2. Aromatic 3. Musky & Floral (tied) You can really smell a strong citrus scent right off the bat, however one can also detect a light floral scent in the background that mingles with a slight musk and a touch of spice (likely the nutmeg). The floral gets fainter and fainter as time goes on, however this is replaced with an increasingly noticeable musky aroma. Citrus stays in control until the scent wears off after just over an hour and a half/two hours. This is a VERY light scent and is one that would serve as a great choice if one would be in tight proximity with someone you're romantically involved with. If you're 6 feet away, you won't notice Gharam. If you're an arms length away, you'll barely get a whiff. If you're cuddled up to someone wearing this, it will hit you just right. Overall, this is a great scent that opens really nicely. However, it does start to smell a bit synthetic within a half hour of wearing it (some people think this is good, for others not so much). But that doesn't change the fact that it's very soothing and would definitely be used a lot more by me if its sillage and longevity was more pronounced.

Fruit trees in orchards that just about to bloom! You can smell those pink and white fragrant petals of apricots, peach, plum and apple blossom all over yourself, fresh, sweet and flowery. This fragrance makes me think of Van Gogh - for him flowering trees were representing hope and awakening and were very special. In 1883 he had written of the symbolism of the flowering tree, seeing the evidence of rebirth like the "man who finally produces something poignant as the blossom of a hard, difficult life, is a wonder, like the black hawthorn, or better still the gnarled old apple tree which at certain moments bears blossoms which are among the most delicate and virginal things under the sun." This fragrance in spray version doesn't smell Eastern to me, it is fresh-blossoming floral and great for spring time. "Gharam" means "binding love" as far as I get the context. The bottle in shape of heart is stunning.

I got gifted this I must say the bottle is so absolutely gorgeous it is like a mystical love potion bottle , heavy and ornate, I really love it . The smell in my opinion is very “rustic” like discordant in a horse stable , some kind of fresh cut wood and wet rotting leaves , i don’t get floral really. It feels like a bronze sharp leather at the start, it’s really traditional masculine smelling to me . The spice doesn’t necessarily feel fresh , but i get alot of star anise and clove and a hint of black pepper . I also get a dose of what I think is Indole? A stinky jasmine feeling but it feels like dirty moss . Overall I didn't enjoy this juice much , but it is not my usual taste anyway . I appreciate the light freesia note that lingers the longest with the leather but overall it’s not wearable to me and it does not layer well with other frags .

I just bought the perfume oil version of Gharam and I must say, God what a bottle, actually 2 bottles, one of 25 ml and a smaller pendant bottle of about 5-10 ml. The package is aristocratic. I must say that Arabian Oud perfumes are made for royals. To the notes now. I think the above mentioned notes, according to the users' votes, are very accurate. It starts with an insisting passion fruit, acompanied by lemon and fresia. Short after, lotus and hibiscus arrise. When settling down, nutmeg emerges to put its oriental note. In the end, I detect rosemary and a touch of vetiver. I do not smell the rose at all. All that, comes in an airy way, eventhough it is well projected. Bravo Arabian Oud!!!
