Majestic Special Oud

An exceptional fragrance by Arabian Oud. Majestic Special Oud displays an ingenious balance between the "barnyard" smelling oud and the "medicinal" type. Both odours seem to coexist in harmony interchanging their dominance throughout the perfumes's lifespan. This may be due to the blending of 2 oils or perhaps it is the typical behaviour of a particular type. A beautiful spicy rose note with a hint of saffron, is elegantly intertwined with the oud(s), establishing this concoction as a consummate woody oriental creation. Majestic Special Oud retains its alluring rosy-oudy character till its far drydown. Despite the short list of notes, a variety of nuances can be detected during its evolution but I am guessing that this may simply be due to the complex odour profile of good quality oud. After several hours of solid oriental bliss, the rose gradually starts to fade and MSO becomes drier & darker, revealing a smooth captivating musky vibe and a slightly sweet aroma of aging smoky woods that envelop the wearer with an exotic & sensual aura of seductive masculinity. A very sophisticated & distinctive creation. 9/10 P.S. Although I fully respect this fragrance, I cannot resist making a few comments on the similarity I perceive it has to Woody Intense. It seems that Arabian Oud has developed a particular formula of success that incorporates just a few basic ingredients (oud, rose, saffron, etc), the fine tuning of which (less rose, more oud, etc) determines the final outcome. Add to that the (more than) obvious difference in the presentation along with a "majestic" title and a (much) higher price is easily justified. I guess creating perfumes is one thing and doing business is another. I fully respect that too.

Benchmark of traditional rose-oud 🌹🪵 Oud / agarwood as an ingredient has been long admired for its complexity that also gives substantial depth to fragrances. Different type of oud has its own signature scent depending of the origin just like other natural ingredients grown in different places are varied. Ranging from pure woody to strong barnyard, animalic, skanky, or fecal smells and some has hints of fruity nuance. Strong oud has been long heritage in middle eastern perfumery. Of course this type of fragrance is not for the faint of heart but definitely will satisfy people with bold preferences. Majestic Special Oud has strong animalic facet right from the beginning but still very much approachable by the novice nose imo 🙏. It has an alluring smells that will draw you in to inhale deeper for its addictive charm. After a while beautiful jammy rose accompanied with saffron that is spicy, bittersweet and leathery develop in a very majestic manner. The oud, rose and saffron combination are blended smoothly in perfection. This fragrance is luxurious in a very traditional middle eastern way and also feels sensual whilst retaining its versatility. It will impress people around for your great taste of high quality fragrances. The sensual aspect reminds me a bit of ROJA Musk Aoud that can only be worn in intimate situation, but this one is more on the versatile side. As time progress the strong and bold heart notes slowly mellowed down and then very soft woody note along with musky and unsweetened vanilla fill the composition. This one leans a bit masculine but for everyone wanting to explore on oud-rose fragrance I highly recommend starting with this one as a benchmark. #vscentorientreview

Advice first: Consider wearing this on fabric rather than skin. The oud will then shine more brightly and its longevity will be extended so as not to be overshadowed too quickly by rose. I stumbled upon Majestic Special Oud during a trip to D.C. in which I decided to hop across the border to Virginia and visit the Arabian Oud shop, which coincidentally was having an independence day sale (how could I possibly resist making a purchase or several?). I mentioned to the staff that I sought an Oud/Rose combination (so trite, you can judge me), and was directed to a couple of traditionally masculine scents before finally stumbling upon Majestic Special Oud, which was precisely what I was dreaming of, it was a prayer answered. The oud introduction is quite potent yet clean enough for typical western tastes. Oud quickly subsides - as oud is inclined to do - while orange blossom, herbs, and powerful damascan rose form the warm and generous heart of this gorgeous presentation. Sandalwood, amber, the most delicate hint of vanilla, and some dry dusty mineral-oud remnants serve as the base notes. This well executed potion and suitable for gentleman or lady alike. Although the ratings suggest Majestic Special Oud is not structured for summer, I received several compliments wearing it in the humid July heat of D.C., which is a place where people are quite prone to modesty and not typically inclined to sing praise. Majestic Special Oud thawed a few frigid hearts there, so give it a try if you can get your hands on a decant or a bottle.

This is just so beautiful and exhilarating. Never has a fragrance had such a potent effect on me. It’s powerful and refreshing. There is a definite resinous, balsamic character to this fragrance. It’s completely unisex. The initial burst is as though there are beams of nectar rushing through your veins. It’s certainly addictive and compels you to return for a repeat experience. It lights up something in my heart that I can almost visualise a golden light radiating. I love how raw and unapologetic this fragrance is. I receive so many compliments from this and people often want to try a bottle themselves. This house is severely underrated. Some people have an adversity towards Oud because it’s associated with being too “animalic” or obnoxious. But really if you get past that social inhibition of wearing something that isn’t magnolia white flowers and bergamot, then this is a real treasure. Majestic Special Oud is completely unisex, it’s beyond gender. This is another level in the fragrance game. Opulent, heavy, beautiful perfume. The sillage is huge, after a few hours it settles to radiate within a three foot parameter. 10/10

Such amazing presentation. It came inside it's own shopping bag, outside wrapping, large heavy leather topped casket, and very heavy bottle. I wore it last night and this morning so far. It does have a hefty dose of medicinal oud. Far from fecal and nothing to worry about for those that don't like the stinky ouds. It also has some woods and a touch of sweetness, more so in sillage than up close. Fans of medicinal oud fragrances without a lot of filler should give this a try. UPDATE: After a couple wearings, I feel like this scent has more layers than I previously picked up on. I am getting the rose now it its sillage. Not a large dose but noticeable. Odd. The sweetness of this scent comes and goes and does add a little more versatility to the fragrance.

I just received my bottle and am wearing it. Opening to me smelled of Indian oud, slightly in your face, slightly skanky, medicinal. That seems to mellow in minutes. I do get a rose, definitely, it's not sweet nor heavy, a nice light rose over the oudy wood. Funny thing trying to find some reviews of this, the notes listed on most sites are Oud Oud Oud and another site lists Rose and musk yet the Arabian Oud site where I purchased lists only this: “”Rosemary, musk, and Sandalwood mixed together with a rich layer of Vanilla”” with no mention of Oud, well except for the namesake. This reminds me a lot of Rasasi Faqat Lil Rijal, it has that fermented grape smell which I love. This smells very nice after a few minutes.

This is one of the best oud fragrances in my opinion. I tested many ouds while in the Middle East recently and purchased a bottle of this. It smells smooth and sophisticated with the emphasis on oud while there are hints of rose and amber and possibly other notes as well. The oud is very smooth and has nothing of the cow dung or blue cheese smell that you can find in some ouds, thus this is my kind of oud. It is long lasting, and you can smell a bit of various notes during the development, though oud is always at the centre. Unisex I suppose, as most ouds are. I like oud, but am not an oud fan who collects oud oils. so I will stick with this - my perfect oud.

Of my oud fragrances, this one smells most of real oud oil -- not the synthetic accords found in most others. Mmmmm. It reminds me of my introduction to oud oils nearly fifteen years ago when I gifted myself a selection from Ensar's Oriescent. Only with a dash of a lovely rose. Another fortuitous find at a thrift store for a song and I'm giddy with delight. Truly lovely from the start -- no need to brace yourself for the initial blast of what passes for oud from other perfumers.

This is piece of art, expensive, and smell expensive, from arabian manufactur where nothing is banned, a dominant of oud with a hint of rose, sharp taifi rose smell, after 2 hours its will start evolving, becoming softer when the rose and musk start appearing, till 12 hours later when the table flips, becoming very soft with the musk being the dominant and feeling just a hint of oud and rose existing within it. its just magical experience

This is the best oud rose scent in my collection. I've been on an "oud" crave in fragrances and Arabian Oud has taught me what is real oud. Majestic Oud is a skanky middle eastern oud during the opening. The magic (majectic) blends of rose, sandalwood, musk with some sweet vanilla starts about one hour later. Opulent and sensual fragrance. Projection and longevity is excellent.

Arabian Oud perfumes in general seem to be very powerful and not for the feint hearted. This one is no exception. I get a Cambodian oud vibe but I think it could be coming from the saffron. It’s an absolutely beautiful fragrance and the packaging is superior to most niche fragrances. Arabs have a way of making fragrances in a way no one else does. 9.5/10

I’m not getting Taif rose, guess it is European red/pink roses, the difference is Taif rose has a distinctive grassy note, while the rose here doesn’t have that. The silage & performance are strong The oud here is the supporting note not the main as the name suggests. Luckily I don’t get any synthetic aromas .

Perfect perfume.... Wild... animalic... pure... strong... fresh clean and dirty!!! The most beautiful perfume from Arabian oud!!!

Did you smell woody or woody intense? This is the same DNA but more oud and less sweet roses.

I want to add something, I don’t get taif rose here, it is bright red/pink rose.

i love this smell...very nice, soft but deep oud

This is the perfect scent to spray on and around you before meditating, especially if you love rose. The rose in here is beautiful and blended nicely with everything else. I have the 2018 stock and it projects a lot and have gotten remarks when wearing it out. I don't think its fleeting too fast on me, it seems to last longer than I need it to and on par for an essential oil based perfume or fragrance. I'm not expecting western petrochemical nuclear performance from an essential oil based fragrance like other reviews I'm seeing. It is a very centering incense type scent in a perfume bottle. The oud in here smells real to me, though not quite as expensive and beautiful oud as their Royal Oud. It is hard to wear this now after buying Royal Oud Maliki honestly. My nose craves the woody sesquiterpenes in the Royal Oud over this. It is a good other option to change things up with oud without dipping into a total headache inducing petrochemical western scent bomb. I tend to like this one the most as a fabric scent while meditating as it sets an atmosphere without suffocating myself or have to worry about candles or incense. I'm not sure if sandalwood needs to be in it quite as much, it takes over the oud half of the time and get more of a nutty wood note from the sandalwood when I wish I was still smelling the oud. It does help to break up the oud so the oud isn't overbearing in drydown as well as lengthen it, so its probably there for a reason. The saffron, vanilla and musk scents do linger into drydown into a musky and powdery spicey vibe. I can tell the oud is still there but sort of weaves in and out of the sandalwood once it dries down. This is a really good one if you want sandalwood/oud/rose/musk/spices combo that smells like an oil attar you can spray.

Yes authentic oud tend to be a little fecal in the opening, but calling it dog shit is a little harsh (and this is only a tip of the iceberg) lol To me this is a very simple fragrance, but made with quality ingredients; I wouldn't say it's the best rose-oud ever, but definitely beats some big-name western offerings.

Powdery rosy fruity oud Pear, red fruits and rose atop powdery woody oud. Not challenging oud The rose is the primary note I pick up, its a sweet jammy pink rose. Somewhat middling performance with good sillage. Like not a love

I made my pilgrimage to the Arabian Oud store on Oxford Street just to try this after reading rave reviews. Against my female skin it smells too masculine with raisiny sweet leather. I get no rose.
