Aramis Bermuda Tonic

Not much that I need to add to some of the excellent and very true comments below, of which my pick are: "The drydown sparkles pure eucalyptus freshness." "If I smell it on my skin, I feel a bit nauseous." "It may smell a bit chemical or rubbery at first, but give this one a bit of time and a few wearings, and it will intrigue and grow on you." "It's in the drydown that this bad boy really flexes its muscle!!" "AND HOW COOL IS THAT BOTTLE!!!!!" My tuppence comment is that it's a mesmerising summer fragrance with a weird foody/chemically opening (initially off-putting almost like Licorice Allsorts mixed with green Fairy Washing Up Liquid!) that soon transforms itself into a wonderfully cool and refreshing long lasting scent. It definitely does evoke blue sunny tropical skies and fully lives up to its "tonic" label. Brilliant and well worth tracking down!

TrephineArtist below is a first class jurk who cannot be believed, because everything he say is absolute nonsense! I dont understand why people don't like this. At first I wasn't sure because the opening is very unique but I quickly came to love it. I've not smelt anything like this before and I'm a big Aramis fan and this is an excellent addition. I can see why it's not everyone's cup of tea but give it a chance and it will grow on you! I think it's great throughout and it's definitely a late Spring, Summer and early Autumn fragrance. Day or night is suitable for this one! I give it a 8.75 out of 10 👍🤗👌!

The best alternative to Creed's VIW! As mentioned it's very tropical and the performance is great! Up to 10 hours with sillage being above average for the duration of the scent. I get a Pina Colada vibe with a bit of woodiness to add depth and character. The only drawback is that at times it can be HTF. I see a couple online priced at under $60 and that is a steal. Once the summer hits it will be around the $100 range. I have had 3 bottles of this and might get a backup although I have about 75 ml's left. And oh yeah, if it's compliments that you want then this will satisfy you!

I must say again what an amazing fragrance this is. High quality and well worth tracking down. It smells 100% tropical and is all fun in the sun. I get the reference to burnt currants which I think is a good analogy for the first few minutes with this fragrance. Its initial plasticky mustiness (which I like by the way) might put you off at first, but stay with it longer and the smell morphs into something entirely different...and fresh...and special. Tons of character. It’s definitely one of the best fragrances I’ve ever had.

Aramis tried to make something different, something for the youth. But all the real man said no to this fragrance. Bermuda Tonic is something special, something for the hot weather, something that reminds you instantly of sun cream, palms and the beach. Aramis Bermuda Tonic is a creamy mixture that smells to me like a sun tanning lotion with just a bit of freshness. Some say it ́s the perfect coconut bubblegum. It ́s not woody and not auqatic in my mind. It ́s more an aromatic fragrance. Niche quality.

This is my all time favorite frag...it sucks they stopped making it and bottles are now close to $300 on ebay. This to me is the ultimate "island vacation sipping margaritas on the beach" scent...its just amazing and makes you feel like you are on the beach in the Caribbean or Fiji or something. Wish there was a clone of it somewhere. Oh well.

I agree with other reviewers...It's in the drydown that this bad boy really flexes it's muscle!! I get a refreshing lime coconut scent that lasts for hours and hours......and hours!!...one of my all time summer favorites! AND HOW COOL IS THAT BOTTLE!!!!!

Do I need to say much about the smell, its coconut, coconut, coconut. Maybe a little mango in there. A sexy fragrance for man. It reminds you always being on a beach. This can be worn at any temperature.

i was tempted once to Blind Buy this i am very happy i didn't since some months ago i found it at a store But they didn't have a tester so i was intrigued all the time aBout how this one smell, i was expecting a fresh pleasing scent with Booze oh how wrong i was, i convinced the SA today of letting me test it, this one is not fresh, it has a little Bit of that old school viBe of that original aramis, mixed with some herBs that guess its eucalyptus it really reminds you of a Beach, an island, a tropical place, But not in the way virgin island waters from creed does this scent it's exotic i must say, there's something here that makes me like the scent somehow, Bcus it stimulates me to think of an exotic place, hot and humid weather, the Beach it's close BRH has a point with his description "palm like, deserted island, tropical plants" i don't get the ruBBery viBe tho' this fragrance made me understand when reviewers say "i like it and appreciate it But i don't find it wearaBle" i mean i like the concept of the scent But i don't find it pleasant, mayBe it would Be pleasant to someBody else But not for me actually right now i asked to someBody else (female friend next to me) and she say she actually likes it can't understand it, she "eww" almost every scent i like

This one is nice, but takes a little time to grow on you. It's best during the drydown phase & also smells better when catching a whiff at a distance instead of close up. Overall I get a "rubbery" type note from the eucalyptus up top that drys down to a really nice watery, aquatic note (with the rubbery eucalyptus still mixed in a bit). It reminds me of a deserted island with lots of rubbery, palm like, tropical plants on a windy day in the cooler months of the year. I don't really get the tropical party vibe of something like Creed's Virgin Island Water with this one. Instead, Bermuda Tonic is a more natural beach smell. As I say, it may smell a bit chemical or rubbery at first, but give this one a bit of time and a few wearings, and it will intrigue and grow on you.

Not quite as nail-polishy as the new Lanvin Vetyver or Insense Ultramarine, but honestly very chemical. It's basically a dry, no-frills herbal aquatic scent with just a dash of coconut in the top. I really like the fact that it doesn't burden itself with unnecessary sweetness, but sometimes it's just so plastic and musty that I can't believe it. It reminds me of the dirty, offputting way that the raisins and fruit fragments get in a fruitcake when it's been burnt slightly, or old books that have that darker, slightly rotten smell rather than the lighter, grainy/strawlike smell that everyone loves. I wouldn't mind if the men's room floor smelled like this after being cleaned, but I don't see any reason why I need to smell like it.

I do not understand why this has a cult following and people charge 180 dollars a bottle now. This is is highly synthetic lime, lemon and maybe some coconut. It is loud and bold for 2 to 3 hours before slowly becoming a skins scent. It is linear and rather boring. I could forgive it's synthetic nature , like invictus, if it was pleasant, accessible, and not noticeable synthetic. This is chemical mess in my opinion and for those who want to get attention from people distances away on summer days at the beach. This cannot be worn indoors and there are better fragrances out there for 30 dollars. I am shocked at the price, popularity and poor quality.

First off I want to thank Chicago Tony for the 2 10ML decants he sent me in a swap.. When he told me this was available I was pumped to try it.. I’m wearing it today and I’m really disappointed in the smell.. I’m really glad it’s in my collection but there is no way I would buy a big bottle of this.. It is liquid sun screen with a pina colada vibe.. Nothing really interesting.. Rating 4.5/10

don't like this one at all,thought i'd get a fresh vibe like VIW, but all i get is some dark rum scent. eww

This is the kind of scent I generally dislike, I think because they tend to come across as a bunch of different parts that don't fit together, with at least one nasty aroma chemical dominating the affair. Here, though, everything seems to hold together! The scent is pleasant, and the balance is excellent. Unlike some other reviewers, I don't perceive this as a "dark rum" scent, nor does it feel especially "chemical." I would say the dihydromyrcenol in Cool Water and GIT makes those more "chemical" than Bermuda Tonic, for example! Isn't it more a matter of what chemicals a person doesn't like, and how much of those are used in a particular composition? Though it's not my "cup of tea," I certainly would wear this as a change of pace. I may decide to swap my bottle, though, since it's so rare and it's not something I view as "essential." I'll give it another wear before deciding. Good job, as usual, by the people who make these Aramis scents.

@richmilton 200$ really?! Haha I sold mine, I had only paid 10 euros or so for a full sealed bottle. I just didn't like it, I felt nauseous wearing it for some reason. It's interesting for sure but not a safe blind buy imo at 20 dollars let alone 200 (then again some folk have too much money I guess) lol! I ended up getting my money back and a few euros more at least but nothing like those silly prices some people are offering, haha.

I spray this one hoping for a perfect citrus for me. It was a nice surprise, the opening is clearly eucalyptus. It transports me back to a small town in Australia, where the fall chilly air smells of eucalyptus leaf. A little spices note can be detected, just a hint. The lemon-bergamot part is not so dominant, more lemon leaf than the fruit. Refreshing and not boring. A good scent for work. 01/18/09 09:41:35

I received this scent today. Overall impression: you may think somebody spilled on you pina colada, but it's not that simple. The rum and eucalyptus combo creates an accord reminiscent of coconut milk mixed with an alcoholic drink. The drydown sparkles pure eucalyptus freshness. If i smell it on my skin, i feel a bit nauseous.

Wow, what an odd fragrance. Still collecting my thoughts on this one but I personally don't like the smell! An immediate dislike but I think I can see what they were going for - sun block, but a particular, kind of balsamic kind which I remember they used to sell in brown bottles.

Hurry ebayers are selling this for just $200! Wow what a bargain lol! Joop Homme Wild is nearly identical but only cost in the $28 range online. Get that instead! Let someone else pay for the ebayers monthly car payment. Boom!
