Aramis Special Blend

I am a huge fan of the Aramis line of fragrances. They are almost always very high quality scents with good performance and reasonably priced. So when I spotted Aramis 'Special Blend' I was very excited and blind bought the fragrance right away. This is a modern take on the classic 'Aramis' by Aramis original scent, with slightly floral and fruity notes at the top, and a sweet whiskey and amber base. The opening smells very similar to Costume National Homme, so if you are a fan of that scent, you will absolutely love this. The middle of the scent settles into a warm, boozy masculine masterpiece, with solid projection that is present without being cloying or too loud. It performs well, and being an Eau de Parfum concentration, it is thick and digs into your skin and becomes your scent. It leaves a wonderful trail but is never offensive or irritating. The notes are very well blended and lay together is nearly perfect harmony. A base of woods, amber, and a bit of sweet tonka and what smells like the classic Aramis leather note is there and lasts for quite a while. This is the ideal fragrance for cold, winter days. You put this on with your scarf, leather jacket or winter coat and boots, and sip coffee by the fire with friends in a cafe full of stylish and attractive people. Performance is good as it usually is with Aramis fragrances. Longevity with ten sprays (neck, chest, wrists, shoulders) is about 7-10+ hours, with several days on clothes and fabrics. Projection and sillage is heavy within the first hour, then moderate for about four hours. It lingers as a soft trail at the six hour mark until it becomes a skin scent. It is not quite as strong as the original 'Aramis' by Aramis, more of a slightly subdued version. But by no means is this a weak scent. It just has softer projection from the original version. If you are a fan of the original 'Aramis' by Aramis or love Costume National Homme, this is a definitely must have. Powerhouse cologne lovers will also really enjoy this. This is for the mature, stylish and masculine gentleman who is 35+ years of age with confidence. Highly recommended.

I really try to not let reviews sway me,but this is the one time I agree. The guy who said Rum and Coke absolutely nailed it. Aramis and Tommy were my go to all through High School (Late 90s early 00s) so I know the Aramis DNA quite well. What they did was take the original scent and made it sweet and boozy with a little spice on the back end. Honestly I like it better than the original and I have heard horror stories that the Original has been reformulated and its terrible now. In a nutshell its a sweeter version of Bently Intenese/Bvlgari Man in Black. Its really REALLY boozy so if that's not your thing don't buy it. Its really strong so if you plan on wearing this in the warm months please go very easy on the sprays. My decant gave me about 10 sprays and I got 12 hours easy. I did that today and the warm humid temp and it was a little much. A lot of reviews say they found this for 20-30 bucks at retail discount stores and that seems fair. The 50 bucks that this goes for at online discounters is kinda pushing it so that's the top of the mark Id say especially when Bently is cheaper. Still Id grab a bottle if it ever comes back in stock. Please sample before you buy. The Boozy/Musky scent may be too much for some people

Lumberjack in a bottle. This smells as manly as you can get. It smells like you just chopped down a redwood while smoking a cigar then accidentally spilled whiskey on yourself. If that visual image doesn’t make sense then this smells like saw dust and dry earthy tobacco, with a boozy opening. The people that think this smells anything like the original Aramis must have Covid. There is zero leather, oak moss, patchouli, or aldehydes in this one. Its more like Jazz Club but more woody and not sweet. Performance is really good. With two sprays my tester bottle does 1-2 hours or STRONG projection then normal projection for several hours more. As I sit here 10 hours later it’s still noticeable in the air, obviously much weaker but still NOT a skin scent. For men (not boys) who wear flannel and steel toe boots

This is a Rum & Coke! I picked this up at TJ Maxx for about $25, which was an absolute steal. It’s cozy, sweet, slightly bitter and yet fun and mysterious all at once. Mysterious in the way that exploring a new city could be mysterious, or going back to your dates house after the 2nd date. There’s an edge to this fragrance that feels so sensual. It’s a snuggle scent for sure, and I can promise you you’ll receive positive attention for this one. The bitter quality gives it it’s masculinity, and the cashmere woods and cinnamon give it a dark creaminess that feels ever so inviting, one of my favorite in my collection. Performance is where it needs to be. If you’re lucky enough to find it as cheap as I did, grab it! 8/10

Legitimately, smells like a light, Irish Whiskey with a touch smooth Vanilla and greenness.

Magnifique! It has the Aramis OG DNA, but evolves into a separate scent altogether owing to the whiskey and cashmeran notes. A suit-up scent and for formal evenings out I would surmise. The only issue is it is light on projection. However owing to the cheap price you can easily indulge on the sprays. I've used Aramis OG, Havana, Tobacco Reserve and now this, and have never been disappointed. The first spray would allude to the typical barbershop vibe of the OG and then it spirals into a fragrant rendition of John Lee Hooker's "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" ! All seasonal scent? Heck yea, but strictly for evening IMO Unisex? An Aramis standard masculine scent Blind buy worthy? If you like a boozy scent with the Aramis OG DNA, definitely Performance? Longevity is good around 6 to 7 hours but the projection is quite soft, it becomes a skin scent in an hour or two. I sprayed it on a shirt, went out for jog/ brisk walk, wore the shirt the same day and could still smell it. Price? Cheap buy at 30 to 40 USD

If you liked original Aramis, you'll like this. Special Blend opens like a blast of the 80's, all powdery musk and oakmoss, with a dry (not sweet) booziness and slight spiciness, then it shifts into modern mode with tobacco-ish tonka and 'amber tonic', which seems to be a variant of ambroxan, in the heart. The soft woody notes and suede accord of the drydown are very soft indeed, sitting close to my skin, albeit for several hours. I haven't tried castor oil, overspraying or other tricks to bump up the rather unimpressive performance, but normal application (4-6 sprays) yields a polite nuage with not much trail. This is mature and nostalgic, comfortable and warm. I like it well enough to hang on to the 100 ml bottle.

It is interesting .. Not a fan of the original Aramis but I do respect it. This one has the DNA but possibly in a modern way .. currently I cant find an occasion for wearing it coz it will battle unmercifully with a bunch of Heroes standing-by on the shelves .. I don't dislike it but right on the edge of liking it and not care much about it .. had a similar scenario with Bentley intense but now I kinda like it but never wear it outside of home .. gotta have to wait and see. Update: Nope, way too sharp, chokes you, insanely intense .. Added to my super dislikes along with the Mega money waste of Mancera Red Tobacco despite of them both being beastly projecting monsters !

Aramis Gold Blend has all the characteristics and DNA of the original and classic Aramis but with a different twist. It smell very similar to the original but you scense that bottle bit of different from the original. This is a Pleasant smelling and long lasting fragrance that can last up to 12hrs or more. The projection is good too and for me an 8.5 out of 10 all the way. If you love the original clasic Aramis then you will this too!

Just got it. I'm not a "note" spotter in fragrance unless they are very obvious. Like in this case the first thing I noticed was the cinnamon and the a boozy note. Aramis managed to maintain the DNA of the original. The dry down pretty much is "the original Aramis + a pinch of cinnamon and little bit sweet(brown sugar sweet)". Overall: happy with the purchase.

Aramis Special Blend is Lauder's definitive attempt to bring their hallmark masculine into the 21st century, and the best boozy flanker this side of Pure Malt. The packaging is very nondescript; when I first saw the identical red-orange box and gold plaque label, I assumed it was a 30 year special edition of the original but no, its a completely distinct fragrance. It's scent profile is similar to the original Aramis, and at first blush it smells like you remember Aramis smelling. But after the initial blast a new scene unfolds: that of a summer night's bonfire with your family, where your mother has a citronella candle lit to keep the bugs away, your great uncle is smoking a nice cigar (away from the kids, of course) and you are drinking a glass of bourbon that your cousins from down south brought up for the weekend. This is Special Blend: a clinical citrus top, a great big whiskey heart and hints of cigar tobacco throughout, all wrapped up inside of a crackling bonfire. The impression is remarkable, and it would be right at home in the Margiela Replica line up. In fact, it smells strikingly like a mixture of By The Fireplace and Jazz Club. If you like either of those, consider this before commiting to a bottle of Margiela. Performance is not *bad* per se, but it doesn't have the notorious pervasiveness of the original and is definitely lighter than other boozy-woody-tobacco scents, capping out at around 6 hours with intimate projection to my nose. Being a new fragrance, ASB commands full sticker at retailers but already has a good discounter presence, going for about $55 for 110 mL. I found my bottle for $24.99 at TJMaxx, and for that its a steal. If you too have it in your hand and are frantically searching reviews, I would get it without a second thought. The lauded Lauder quality is all there, and the ingredients are a cut above other designers. If you are looking for a comforting addition to your Fall/Winter rotation, ASB is a great pick. Is it as good as the orignal Aramis? I don't think so, although I'd need more time with both to definitively answer that. However, if you're a committed follower of the Lauder brand, you will not be disappointed with Special Blend.

اسپشییال بلند آرامیس .آخرین ادکلن آرامیس من شخصا عاشق بوی مقتدر و مردونه و سکسیه آرامیس هستم . اسپشییال بلند روی همون دی ان ای آرامیس طلایی فرمول شده . انگار نخواستند ریسک کنند و فضای کلی رو عوض کنند . با این حال اسپشیال بلند نسخه مدرن شده آرامیس طلاییه که اون حس اوکموسی و گالبانومی و سبز و خاکی رو برده تو بستر کار و فضای چوبی بوزی و فلفلی رو جلوی صحنه به نمایش میگذاره . تو قلب عطر ته بوی چرب و چرمی هم حس میشه . ولی حس بوی فلفلی ( فلفل سیاه ) و اوکموس تو سرتاسر طول عمر ادکلن مشهوده . درای داون ادکلن شباهت بیشتری به جد محترمش پیدا می‌کنه . همون‌طور هربال و اوکموسی ... تو ترکیبات به دارچین اشاره شده . من با تست چندباره چیزی از دارچین دستگیرم نشد . شاید در خوش بینانه ترین حالت گفت ی آکورد نرم و اسپایسی و معطر از میخک و دارچین هم باشه ولی محسوس نیست . کومارین و امبرکسان فضای کلی مدرن کردند ولی آسیبی به چهارچوب بوی ادکلن اصلی نزدند قشنگ مشخصه با احتیاط و خیلی نرم فرمول رو بازسازی کردند. کیفییت ادکلن خیلی خوبه پخش بوی ملایم و ماندگاری خوبی داره اسپشییال بلند همچنان یک مرد بالغ و شیکه اما امروزی.

oh this is lovely! bernard chant is one of my perfume heroes, and i have variously worn original aramis, cabochard, aromatics elixir and aramis 900. this aramis special blend is respectful to his creation and amounts to an attractive twist on the original aramis, softening it up (a lot) and putting it on a bed of cinnamon with a sprig of mint (even though the latter is not in the pyramid, that's what i'm getting.) warm, easy to wear, and entirely unisex (whatever that is. i suppose i mean there's nothing stereotypically masculine about this fragrance as there is for the original aramis, for example.) caveat: there's a pronounced powdery note in the mid-and basenotes that take away a bit from my enjoyment. still, a really nice offering.

I saw this EDT in a shop recently. I like the classic Aramis fragrance, so I decided to try this. Unfortunately, this Special Blend was not a patch on the original. It has a similar fragrance and is instantly identifiable as Aramis. However, the scent was very weak and had almost completely faded within a very short time. Classic Aramis lasted me for most of the day. Sadly, this new fragrance did not. It was very expensive to buy in the shop, but I don't think that I'll be in any hurry to replace this when I have used it up. I think that I'll stick with the original, classic Aramis. This Special Blend fragrance is a mere pretender to the throne.

Aramis Special Blend is a fairly nice fragrance. It's a soft, cozy boozy woody scent. The booziness is most noticeable in the initial stages. I identified it as rum, I see it's actually listed as whiskey. This is listed as an EDP. It has great longevity for me but projection is on the lighter side. It's nowhere near as potent as the original Aramis. I like this scent but I like other boozy scents like John Varvatos Dark Rebel better. The bottle unfortunately has a cheapish sticker on it similar to the original Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme bottle that I was never a fan of.

I had been looking forward to it, but this smells nothing like the original Aramis to me. I'm a big fan of the original, and was wearing it for many years. This is dominated by, I suppose, the cashmere and tobacco and something dusty and woody. Ends up like some old man cologne, to me. I can maybe imagine why somebody might recognize a little bit of Aramis in it, but it certainly isn't the part I'm longing for.

Unique Spicy and retro scent. Pepper, Cinnamon bark, musk and woods. Very Masculine. The tonka bean and whiskey may give a tobacco feel but there is no tobacco note. A bit of a challenging scent. Performance is weak-average Try layering this with Michael by Michael Kors. Fall/Winter 30+

This is close to old havana by solstice scents. This is actually almost as sweet as old havana when it gets to the drydown. Both of them are strong likes.
