Fakhar Al Oud

A nice woody balsamic Oriental, with a warm/spicy drydown. Powerful, unusual, very, very woody. Like a woodworking shop next door to an Egyptian spice market. Saffron & balsamic woodiness with warm spices and a subtle overtone of healing oils. It opens with saffron & nutmeg, then you get papyrus, and a nice herbal-cola vibe that transitions to a heart of rich, slightly-sweet woods with light florals. Later it becomes sweeter and slightly ambery in a drydown of tonka/vanilla/oud. The oud here is light and very civilized, neither animalic nor dominant. But the central element throughout is the woodiness. I find the progression pretty dynamic, especially for something in this price range. Part of the nonlinear magic is that (on my skin, at least) the heart notes linger, behaving almost like a first stage of base. Later, sweetness develops further as the true base notes come more to the front. An unusual frag, and somewhat unique in my collection - yet not at all garish or outré. Certainly it's an individualistic scent, rather than a run of the mill crowd-pleaser. Even so, this isn't a 'statement' fragrance - it doesn't present as radical, alien or jarring. Simply a differently-balanced expression of familiar notes. Not a loud voice; it speaks with quiet authority. Confident and independent without being iconoclastic. On my skin I get an honest six hours endurance with modest arm's length projection for 11⁄2. After six or seven hours nothing's left but ambery afterglow. Frankly, I can't think of anything it closely resembles.* Something here reminds me just a bit of Mohra (which is said to resemble Halfeti). But that's just an overlap of certain notes; as overall fragrances they aren't really similar. This is said to have been discontinued; I suspect it didn't sell well, probably because it's pretty atypical. Still, as of April 2026 it's still listed on Amazon & eBay, and at very reasonable prices. I have owned and liked this fragrance since October 2024. Saffron in the opening was a bit harsh at first, but it settled nicely after a month or so. IMO this is a real sleeper. Underappreciated, and it punches well above its weight. I'd say lovers of Oriental woods might want to grab a bottle while it's still available. *After revisiting Oud Lail Maleki from Lattafa, I find the two do resemble each other a bit, yet feel quite different. The Lattafa is noticeably sweeter and fruitier, with more prominent florals over a musky base (and without any oud note that I could detect). This one is wood, wood, wood, and spice with a warm drydown.

I am here to call it first. This fragrance is going to be talked about a lot. It is great stuff, and the presentation is over the top—a very nice woody-spicy ambery fragrance. The price is way too low for what I have expected. Some brands could sell the same juice for $300.

I quite like this although not for everyone I imagine. Smells similar to Acqua di parma colonia Intensa oud as others said. Nice cheap oud scent that performs well but more for your own pleasure so maybe don't wear in a confined space if working beside other people.

I smell safron, leather, nutmeg and woods but not oud. The name is misleading, but i liked it anyway, good scent and performance.

This is a nice woody spicy perfume. It is in general very woody, almost to the point that it feels a bit overdone. It opens with dark woody scent and nutmeg citrusy spicy note that is very similar to oud for glory/oud for greatness, but darker and less sweet, and with some cocacola vibes to it. Then it dries down into a nice combination of sweet woods and patchouli with some pepper and leans a bit more fresh. the cola vibe still stays in the dry down. The mid has a slight bug spray vibe to it because of the saffron, but not in an offensive way. It is suitable for any season/any occasion. It doesn't project far, but its whiffs are very nice. The performance is very good. It's in general very potent and very oily, and lasts on skin for 8+ hours and for days on clothes. The packaging is identical to oud for glory and the bottle is very nice to hold. The box itself has some wood chips that are inaccessible, so it gives an idea of what to expect, a woody scent. For its cheap price, it's a good bargain.

First off, there's not much, if at all, that smells similar to this on the market. I'll have to check out the Guerlain which was voted above. Secondly, this is a saffron and gurjun bomb, which, when mixed with other leathery aroma chemicals (probably isobutyl quinoline) makes for a potent, new fabric/textile mill aroma. This newly upholstered fabric smell, which honestly is not bad at all, stays for the life of the fragrance. It smells high class, as if it should be an expensive Tom Ford offering. But on the far drydown, the copious amounts of saffron, gurun, and whatever kind of ambroxan they're using gives me a headache. It's so unique that I don't want to sell it-- that and it's hard to find where I am. Alas, it shall be sold in my workplace auction.

Not my favorite scent. Bought this as a blind buy and would not recommend doing so. It’s very strong, lasts forever and projects like a beast. I live in the Middle East and there are better creations of Oud, patchouli, woody fragrances. Don’t do more than 2 sprays, it can induce an intense headache and should be worn in very cold weather. Definitely not a date night fragrance, nor a party scent. I can’t really place this one and it is definitely my least favourite fragrance in my collection. Rating: 2.5/5

As you can tell by other reviews this is NOT a safe blind buy so smell it first before buying it. To me, the opening smells like bug spray and gasoline like smelling, very intoxicating but I do like it.

I cant decide if i love this or hate it for me it starts quite woody then dries down into a sweeter wood its more on the masculine side imo

On me, smells are quite woody. It last around 6 hours.

This is an unusual one. First, it's tremendously strong. A really high concentration for something so inexpensive. It performs well. As for the fragrance, it's a bit of an odd combination to me. The cypriol, oud, and nutmeg are apparent but the jasmine is kind of stealing it for me and rather than a more lifelike jasmine, I detect a rather outsized helping of hedione. It's 80% of what I can smell and it overtakes the other notes. I've been wearing it for about half an hour and it hasn't changed at all, I'm wondering if it will ever die back and let other notes in but hedione is not known for being demure. So if you like hedione, I guess it's good, but if you wanted to smell anything else, maybe not.

I've got this as a gift from a guy whom I sold one of my perfumes. It's a bit hard to decide if I liked this or not. To me it starts with a vinegar-y smell (probably the saffron in this). This lasts for like 20-30 minutes then it starts to get better! As it dries down it turns woody with a slight hint of sweetness from the amber and vanilla. On the other hand it also smells very much of the balsam and I'm not that big of a fan of that. At the end when the fragrance becomes a skin scent it turns sweet with the vanilla and amber. That part is really nice. The performance is not bad. The smell is just not for me.

This smells like bug spray. Performance is too good for how bad it smells. I tried to wash it and it still smelled.

This is a classic middle eastern arabian scent and definitely one for the masjid for Jummu'ah and Ramadan taraweeh..........a luxuriously beautiful arabian, rich, warm, deep, overtly masculine special occasion scent. Fantastic. The notes listed here seem completely wrong. To me, this is dense incense, amber and tonka and loads of smoky wood and a nutty orange/mandarin with a prominently potent saffron on top. Simple but effective. I love this . Strong but respectful of others, the price is amazing too for the quality of this scent. I don't get why more people don't know about it and love it? Maybe its not marketed well? Maybe its too muslim/arab/alien/cheap for the average customer? Good bottle, apallingly bad box though, who thought bits of loose woodchips floating around a pointlessly oversized 1970s gold gilt design might be a good idea? UPDATE...I've had this about a year and a half now and tragically, its changed and performance has fallen off a cliff. Its nowhere near as strong or as complex and beautiful as it was the first few months. Its developed a softness to it and now lasts only about 5 hours maximum and just really doesn't smell as good anymore. I'm sad because i loved this when new out the box and first few months. Its still OK and i still like it, but preferred it when new. Maceration changed this one pretty drastically. Please be notified. 7/10 from me

I got this for £15 off ebay uk. I wouldn't pay more than that for it, but for what it is, it clearly is at an EDP concentration (ard al zaafaran can often perform less well than lattafa in this regard) with good performance, scent throw and longevity. Having clones from perfume parlour of instant crush by mancera and oud for glory, its a 50/50 hybrid of the two. Nice

I've been bamboozled! The notes here aren't right at all! This is very fruity, smells quite similar to Oud Lail Maleki. Notes that actually fit: Top Notes Plum, Saffron, Bergamot Heart Notes Osmanthus, Praline, Rose Base Notes Oud, Amber XtremeTM, Moss

Not beast on me but it lasts. A nice saffron suede and I see the reference to Ganymede as it has a salty Ozonic dry down

Almost identical as lattafa oud lail maleki. Same performance. More feminin vibe, aprox. 60%.

I like this. Smells like Acqua di parma colonia Intensa oud.
