I Am The King

Im not sure what all the negative reviews are about other than just hate. Or maybe its because its a suavage clone. This is an amazing fragrance for less than 20 bucks. If you love dior sauvage, any version, and you want a cheaper alternative . This is it. Im not a fan of the name, as its too long and too close to Sean Jean I am king, but the fragrance itself is amazing. It lasts 12 plus hours. It punches waaaay above its weight when it comes to almost everything in comparison to sauvage. Its a fraction of the cost. It lasts longer than current bottles of suavage ive experimented with. It is made with quality ingredients and does not smell cheap. The dry down is a little darker and peppery. Almost like it has argwood/oud in it . I personally like darker fragrances that are smoky or contain incense. Though I am the king doest contain oud or incense the dry down gives a similar vibe, at least as it sits close to the skin. Im not sure about in the air as ive never smelled it while someone else wore it. Regardless of my opinion or anyone else's, fragrances are subjective, and divisive. Its all about personal perception and preference. Bottom line, if you are looking for a suavage clone for a fraction of the cost, this is a great alternative. As with many middle Eastern fragrances, maturation is almost always a requirement. Open your fragrance, spray it 10 or 12 times, leave the cap off and forget about it for a few months. When you come back to it, it will be ready to go. I know many think maturation is a myth but its absolutely not. Fragrances need time for their ingredients to mix and bind with each other. Its a process very similar to aging alcohol.

I Am The King Ard Al Zaafaran (overspray on right arm/hand/shirt) Sauvage EDP Dior (overspray on left arm/hand) I've recently got my hands on very well received and highly rated I Am The King Ard Al Zaafaran and open it to test today. It opens exactly like Sauvage EDT, spicier and more pepperish compared to a more citrusy Sauvage EDP opening. However the Sauvage Dna and comparison, it's literally a 1 to 1 no less than 95% closeness to the Edt on my nose. On very matured and experienced noses with Sauvage, the og of both Edt and Edp probably is smoother but not by a whole lot, because seriously to be honest I can't tell much apart from I am King. This is even closer than the highly rated Afnan's Modest Pour Homme Une or the well rated Armaf Ventana. With my Sauvage Edt sitting at home, I'm smelling a difference with I am King and Sauvage Edp as the opening goes away, I am King definitely sits closer to the Edt. I went to have a look at the notes breakdown and was surprised it's almost a 1 to 1 similar notes for both Edt and I am King. The projection is there, Silage is there just like the Edp but I reckon Sauvage Edt definitely projects better as an Edt. Longevity should be at least 6hrs and more since I oversprayed. I've yet to reach the drydown for I am King so I'll need to update this review later. For the cost of sgd$22/usd$16 this is a no brainer for someone looking for a Sauvage 1 to 1 alternative. You just can't beat the price. The only drawback is the cheaply designed bottle and cap, sprayer is decent thou. Another cheap and quality alternative by AAZ.

I Am the King is a noteworthy find, offering great value at less than €15 (at least what I paid). The opening is a blend of bergamot and black pepper. What keeps it interesting is its consistency. It starts fresh and aromatic, with a balsamic backdrop and a light touch of spices, then gradually transitions into warmer notes. It has a noticeable presence for around 6–8 hours, with persistent sillage. The citrus notes remain prominent from start to finish, lingering on the skin even after washing and on clothing for days. This makes it a solid choice for summer, offering a refreshing yet surprisingly deep scent. Despite the similarities it may share with other 'Sauvages', I personally see it as something that stands well on its own and don't pay much attention to what it might be cloning. For me, it also offers a better experience than Armaf Ventana, which I tested. The tacky bottle adds a touch of cheap nostalgia and actually looks better in person than it does in photos, which somehow adds to its cheapie charm. King lives up to its name, with a refreshing citrus presence. Its aromatic, warm undertone, combined with impressive longevity for a fresh fragrance, makes it one of my summer picks. I'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for great value at an affordable price. This is not a clone of the EDT. It is way less peppery/spicy, and more fresh and sweet. Or at least the pepper is toned down. It's also not nearly as beastly as the Savauge EDT DNA. This has decent longevity with mild projection for the first 5 hours or so, and then it becomes a skin scent. I can smell it pretty well for a few hours. I don't know which Savauge this is cloning but I know it's not the EDT, or Elixir. I'd guess EDP. It isn't king, but it has the king's DNA. It is the bastard son of the king, or maybe it's Absalom trying to steal the throne. It is very good, and I think this DNA is the king of blue fragrances. This one in particular is more well rounded than most. I still prefer the Savauge EDT and Elixir DNA though.

I bought this for 12 USD (14 without discount, converted from PHP), and I must say it gives more than its price range. This bottle feels like daytime robbery by the value I get from this. Insane longevity, great projection, and that performance comes right out of the box pretty much. Fresh bergamot and lavender scent makes you smell like you just stepped out of the shower seconds ago, and the dry down smells appropriate for dusk. 11/10, and you can layer it with Asad or Enigma Une for the ultimate beast mode scent. You can do an entire exercise montage wearing this and it won't fade
