Oud 24 Hours Majestic Gold

The original "Oud 24Hrs" was waaaaay too floral for me. Sprayed it...wore it for a few hours...no change...gave it to the wife...went and took a shower. She will rock it better than I could ever hope to...I just don't wear flowery frags that often. When I do, I have my old reliable "Xeryus" on standby. When the bottle of "Oud 24hrs Majestic Gold" comes in, I'll update this with a review. 02NOV22 UPDATE: Ooookay...the bottle is here!! I received the fragrance today and I have to say...it's DEFINITELY not like the original Oud 24hrs in any way c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y !!! This is more of a smooth suede woody fragrance. There is a subtle and smooth-as-silk leather/suede note in this fragrance at the heart. It's there from the spray until it becomes a skin scent. Now...I am not someone that likes "Leather" notes with the exception of two fragrances.... 1. "Dior Homme" 2. "Alexandria Fragrances - Hafez 1984 Intense" I have to say that I am now adding a third "Leather" fragrance to that count. This fragrance is absolutely smooth, low-key but attention grabbing, slightly comforting and yet very powerful in it's stance. This is one of those fragrances you wear when you've got your stuff together and you aren't looking for attention or to offend anyone....but just to smell great! If this is what "Stronger with you: Leather" and "Armani Code Absolu" smell like...then I've definitely got a winner on my hands. I'll be wearing this one out tomorrow to help a friend move. I'll see if it lasts through sweat and high body temps. 05DEC22: Gotta try this with "Gold Rush Man" as a creamy vanilla-lavender base layer. With the leathery notes this one brings...they should go GREAT together! 22DEC22: I just can't get any performance out of this fragrance. Even soaking myself with 20 sprays only yields a skin-scent of leather...leaving me smelling like some kinda leather-wearing old biker dude or a BDSM gimp that just finished a suit-session. There are literally no other notes in this frag that exist past the 3-minute mark. I get maybe a little lavender-smelling something in the first 3 minutes of the fragrance...after that it's cinnamon-leather until I take a shower to get this mess off me. Gonna let it macerate in the closet till February...if it doesn't get better, in the donation bin it goes.

I bought this out of curiosity after reading the comments, and liking SWY Leather only not having a bottle any longer - nor will I pay the ludicrous resale prices. Slightly disappointed it doesn't share much with SWYL, not to my nose anyway. Happily however, it does remind me of something I really do like that's now discontinued. 24 Gold by Scentstory - the TV series fragrance that bucked the trend of naff TV/Movie related scents all being woeful. Try finding a bottle of that now for less than £70 or so. I've seen a few 30mls going for £40, 100ml like this stuff is, is substantially more. It's also reminiscent of 1 Million, just a touch with the opening sweetness, but it's not as cloying or in your face as the Paco Rabanne monster that everyone and his grandad oversprays, it's far more intimate, more sophisticated yet more opulent. Very gourmand fragrance though, very. If something edible smelt like this I'd definitely eat it. I get Tonka, chocolate, vanilla, honeycomb, a bit of spiciness like cinnamon/cumin/saffron. It's got a real cake shop vibe to it. It's lovely. It is NOT a TF Black Orchid clone as some have said, that's the black bottle, Oud 24. For the £12-15 this juice sells for, it's an absolute bargain. You'd easily think this is a £50+ frag if you caught a sniff of it on someone else, which could be any gender as it's without a doubt unisex, unless you're into beastly, testosterone heavy barber-shop fragrances in which case it may be a touch feminine (women will love it on a man though - just saying.) I love it, it's definitely earned a place in my rotation this winter and I've already added another bottle to my Amazon basket so I've got one in reserve. Just wish I'd have done that with Stronger With You Leather (what I was expecting here) and 24 Gold (what this reminds me of.)

Wonderful fragrance. I bought this since my Stronger with You Leather is almost finished. I have to say, I'm surprised. Typically, oriental fragrances can be harsh and overpowering, and I had the same expectation for this one, especially since it has Oud in the name, which I'm not a fan of. However, the opening is not harsh at all; in fact, it's very pleasant, almost as much as my SWY bottle. I'm very happy I found this fragrance for such a great price. While there are some differences in intensity—I feel the original has higher quality ingredients or at least smells like it, with much clearer notes—this one is still 70-80% similar, so don't get me wrong. I sprayed them on both of my arms, and after just an hour, they smelled almost identical. I could barely notice a difference. The projection is good, 4-5h. It becomes a skin scent that lasts 6-8h hours but will likely last on clothes for days. The Original did last much longer almost double than this. Feels like a EDP watered version of SWYL. The sillage is moderate; you won't be "the animal in the room," but that was also the case with the original. They are both discreet fragrances. This one may have slightly less sillage. Overall, it's a pleasant variation of the original leather fragrance. The juice is amazing. The bottle and presentation are also good, especially considering the price. While I don't love the box, the bottle itself is high quality, with a "metal embrace" on it. The atomizer is also good. As I said, for the price, I'm more than happy. Overall opinion: 8/10

Unless Ard Al Zaafaran keep adjusting the composition of ingredients from batch to batch, I can't understand the comparisons to such a broad spectrum of, in some cases, vastly different fragrances altogether. Bogart Pour Homme? Really? Poles apart to my nose but hey it's all subjective. Personally, I agree there are echoes of Stronger with You Leather but also Stronger With You Only although the Chestnut and Elemi take them in their own direction. I also get echoes of Bond No. 9 Andy Warhol but again not in a like-for-like sense, just a slight similarity. Having just bought this and worn it for a few days now (perfect weather in the UK just now - Spring Snow :o) ) I get dry, powdery, citrus, Oud and a hint of Vanilla. It's not unpleasant but I'm not leaping to celebrate it either. It's a bit weird. A sort of Jekyll & Hyde it's like two quirky personalities spliced together in the same bottle - sweet, fruity, fresh citrus aromatic for one and the other a dry, earthy (patchouli), woody (Oud) oriental. It kinda works but also kinda doesn't. I shall live with it a bit longer and see if it improves with some more time to macerate in the bottle and a dark cupboard. One thing I can say is performance is nuclear. It's not a pungent scent but very bold in profile and whenever I wear it people have immediately commented when I walk into a room. Comments like "Wow - I can even taste that fragrance you're wearing!". Hmm, quite. :o

@Tacotyme: this one poor fella here comes back after deleted all his previous comments. Go on buy the perfume, test it. Perhaps then u will realize it doesnt even smell similar to black orchid parfum, im thinking maybe u are the sheep who blatantly agrees with every notes posted by fragrantica🤔🐑 Additional rants: Im quite intrigued on how u constructed ur statement, was it based on ur testing or u really just relied on notes provided here? What are u on about? Talking about all that scent pyramid nonsense. Unless u are a proper dimwit to actually believe the notes here. This has none of that earthy dark floral scent profile or whatsoever. Middle eastern houses are known to produce copies of different brands even with similar lines/bottles. Im all about suggestions & positive criticisms but all u ever did here was insulting others. Have some shame lad, stop embarrassing urself
