Oud Isphahan

Warm, woody, spicy, slight touch of rose. I agree this is Saffron dominant but nicely rounded at the same time and actually lasts a good 6-8 hours with a decent sillage. This was my first oud scent and perhaps still my most enjoyable even today. I was nervous when I first blind bought it as the first spray was so bold and challenging compared to what I usually wore at that time (2018). I waited until Autumn that year and first wore it to the office half expecting I might end up being asked to leave but was astonished to receive multiple compliments from male and female colleagues. One female colleague sought me out to tell me she had been wondering who it was that smelled so good, when she found it was me she simply told me I smelled "incredible". Clearly spicy-woody-rose-oud was her thing.😁 Anyway that was a good enough endorsement for me to always have a bottle of this in my collection. 😎

In my view, the only negative thing about this fragrance is it’s performance.

At first spray, it smells incredibly woody and synthetic oud-y. However, the scent dissipates after 5-10 mins of wear. Even with layering, it's basically undetectable. Extremely dissapointing.

This smells very similar to the much more expensive Swiss Arabian Attar Al Ghutra.

Lots of saffron. Not long lasting though.

This shit plain smells like Hodgkin lymphoma chemotherapy — or maybe like the pre-medications they pump you full of before the real treatment. And no, it doesn't smell medicinal in a clinical-clean way; it smells exactly like chemo coursing through your body: metallic, acrid, with that chemical burn at the back of your throat and a faint, nausea-inducing undertone. It also smells similar to Al Haramain Khulasat al Oud, but with that chemo smell layered on top, dominating the whole thing. If you want to feel what 1% of chemotherapy does to your senses, congratulations: this is your perfect choice to LARP with. Otherwise, save yourself and stick to literally anything else.

I greatly disliked this fragrance. As someone with hospital induced PTSD, this one was extremely traumatic for me as it has a strong medicinal note. And as someone who grew with and regularly cooks with actual saffron, this is not a saffron scent unfortunately. Oud mood has a better saffron note imo. This perfume wasn't for me but if you enjoy medicinal fragrances this would be great. It is long lasting and has wonderful sillage. I'm sorry I can't go more in detail about the notes, it was too painful for me to wear. If it something triggering for you, please avoid.
