Oud Sharqia

This is a great dry inscense meets woody with a touch of faint oud and amber. Reminds me of something my grandpa would wear or something old Egyptian men wear to the mosque. I think you can easily rock it in higher heat because the oud isn't as offensive and it reacts very nicely to heat projecting it more. I easily get 7-8 hours of performance but you have to go trigger happy with the spray because unlike most oud fragrances its not that strong or long lasting unless you spray a shit ton and because the oud isn't that in your face offensive you can get away with over spraying. Don't get me wrong I am a sucker for oud but my mom hates the traditional Arab oud smell because she smelt it so much growing up and she's fine with this fragrance because the oud isn't that offensive , it still smells Arab but its great for people that feel like some of the oudy fragrances feel like there's a coating on their skin that they can just sort of scrape off.

I have been searching a lot for an arabic dry oud/wood fragrance that doesn't cost an arm or a leg (like Arabian oud woody, or ASQ heritage blend or ASQ safari extreme), and I've finally found it. Oud Sharqia is a beautiful dry oud/wood scent, with a touch of rose, a touch of spice, and a touch of smokiness. I have both the 100 ml bottle and the concentrated oil and I use them together sometimes. Longevity is great but only if you overspray! Yes, overspray this one and you will not regret it. It can stay on skin for 6 hours and for days on clothes.

Very intense straight out of the bottle: a biting, sour oud with a rose top and sandalwood. On me the scent tones itself down a little after 45 minutes but the notes don't change. It stays strong, contrary to what some have written. Overall, unbeatable valuable and whilst not the most complex fragrance it stands out well, is different to what others wear and smells incredibly sexy.

Just taken delivery of an 80ml bottle of this and it is indeed very nicely presented. This is my first arabian oud fragrance from a bona fide U.A.E. fragrance house. Sprayed on my hand at first, the opening is a very loud, boozy, almost 'skanky', sharp, animalic accord. Quite overwhelmed I was about to go and wash my hands thoroughly to at least try to tone down the scent but got distracted doing something else and after 10-15 minutes or so I noticed that the fragrance started to change quite dramatically. The harsh opening and 'skankiness' gradually faded giving way to a delicate, powdery, spicy rose and woods (very faint Oud) - this phase of the dry down is immaculately composed and very nice. Most definitely unisex but the woody-spiciness keeps things on the manly side. Perhaps, different on a woman's skin? In summary - lovely dry down but 'challenging' opening. Gorgeous bottle with authentic Oud chippings inside (to maintain the scent?). Really long lasting and great value but just can't get past that opening.

Woody, very Middle Eastern - and for me, unexpectedly floral. Rose & jasmine, spices & bakhoor, polite oud & sandalwood, amber & musk. Slightly smoky, with a faint hint of diesel oil. Opens strong and a bit sour but that subsides after 10 minutes or so and then the scent balances out nicely. Fairly linear - doesn't evolve further until going ambery in the late drydown. Only modest strength, so I find it's okay to overspray this. On my skin, double sprays give 4-5 hours endurance in warm weather, with moderate projection for the first 11⁄2 hours or so.

Another great value from Ard Al Zaafaran. I would call this a masculine fragrance because it is very smokey, to me it actually smells distinctly of motor oil and petrol, the smell that hangs around in a garage or bike shop. But that's not a bad thing-- there's also a lovely dark woodiness to it and some kind of unidentifiable floral, probably rose as others have mentioned and actually, maybe even saffron. It's sexy-- petrol, leather, dark wood, smoke.

Starts off with Oud & Rose playing main role in Florals. Oud & Florals. Westerned Version of Oud not burnyardish due to synthetic nature of Oud but for the price point i would suggest great one. Perfect Value for Money. My rating are 4 out of 5

As said below, it's a simple and linear woody fragrance, but really pleasant. It smells like dry wood, love it !

Odd that the longevity and sillage ratings above are so varied. I get 25 minutes of a slightly medicinal oud sitting on sandalwood and then nothing, it completely vanishes. No development at all which is a pity.

I blind bought this several months ago, and I've worn it at least 10 times but I hardly ever wear it now. It's not that it is a bad scent, I actually like it fairly well. There are just better choices if you like this kind of fragrance, in my opinion. And you don't have to spend TOO much more. This opens with a sharper scent of oud, maybe even a bit sour. Nothing wrong with it, I know some people like that but I prefer a smoother or warmer fragrance. At this price you're never going to get real oud, but most of the synthetic ouds that I've sampled are richer, less sharp/sour and develop more than this one. I definitely get rose even though it isn't listed as a note. Almost entirely linear on me; although during the first 30 min or so the sourness does fade a little bit and the rose comes out more, it is a pretty subtle change. Longevity and sillage are both moderate to good. I will say the price can't be beat. I paid US $15 for 80mL and it is certainly worth that. I would wear it if I didn't already have 5 or 6 other oud based scents that I personally prefer. I can see the appeal but for me it's a like, not a love.

The smell of the middle east... I was so surprised when I tried this one. Upon application I was immediately reminded of the smell of my uncle and aunts house in Cairo, Egypt. Literally this is the smell! Perfume, incense, spices, potpourri... it's all there! I get oud, amber, some spices and dried flowers (jasmine and rose predominantly). The sandalwood is mixed with the oud which tempers it and makes it a nice blend. Oud Sharqia which means "Eastern Oud". I can see this appealing to those who are fans of the Arabian style of perfumery. I like the addition of oud pieces in the bottle as well, which I think is a nice touch. I would say you need to like floral oriental perfumes with this one. I don't think it would appeal to everyone out there but I do like it, and think it gives you an authentic snapshot of the perfumed aromas you might find in the middle east. I find this unisex with a more feminine vibe personally but it would work well either way. This can be found cheaply online and it's worth a try.

So.....let me review this agin. Very unisex butifull rose oud combo. This is a medicinal oud the kimd that is sharp and on that sharpness the rose sits like a glove the blending is so good that the oud and rose attached so that you dont feel madicinal scent but a bright edgey kind of rose In a dark eviroment ....butifull. I dont know about 100 ml bottle..i got the oil version Which does not perfom well at all..but i really like the smell So mybe i'll get the full bottle .

Opens with a lovely Damascus rose combined with Oud and a bit of Musk, in about 15 minutes the Oud dominates and it's quite a mild Oud. Definitely unisex. I wish the Rose would last longer on me as with other reviews, but I always seem to project the wood more. Overall, smells good and more expensive than it's price. Edit: Oud here is Barnyard-sh a bit, so test before you buy if you're not into this kind of Oud.

beautiful box, beautiful bottle, the smell of oud, however, is weak on the skin, goes a little better clothes, a perfume with little personality, though .the bottle is nice, inside include three leaves but do not know what, if you like perfumes timid buy it cheap

I disagree! It's lovely! Very luxurious, and much more expensive smelling than it is. The bottles are heavy and gorgeously designed. This is a staple of my collection, great in hot weather or cold.

Valentino. It's oud chippings, (not the expensive ones!) which can be found in many oud scents from the Middle East. Based on that review, I'll give it a miss!
