Shams Al Emarat Khususi

My all time favourite AAZ perfume. It was initially a blind buy but an excellent one. I'm on my 3rd or 4th bottle, it's smells so much more expensive. I've had lots of compliments when I wear it. I've worn it during the day and out in the evenings, and in all weathers and seasons. It's very very wearable for a rose fragrance, as it's not sharp or headache inducing. Throughout the day I can smell orange, rose, amber, vanilla and white musk. It's very well blended and lasts all day. I've got the perfume oil, the 50ml bottle, the flat plastic credit card sized spray, and a 100ml strange "eau de milky" (it still makes me laugh) version of the perfume. They all smell slightly different, but it's the 100ml bottle perfume I love the most. The oil smells heavier and each version I can smell the notes, heightened or lessened. This perfume is way above the quality of European perfumes, and for such a low price. This perfume is gorgeous.

I’m really surprised to see that based on the reviews that people find this to be more masculine than feminine. Personally, I find this to be very feminine. It’s a lovely sweet, seductive and warm fragrance. I initially bought the perfume oil as a blind buy and once it arrived I instantly bought the 100ml perfume as I couldn’t resist the smell! At first spray I get notes of of spices and vanilla, but the spiciness of the fragrance doesn’t seem to last on me. Once the perfume dries down I get the notes of sandalwood, vanilla and florals and that lasts all day. It’s a very sweet perfume, but it’s mature and seductive. I’d say this is more of a night time fragrance, but I love it so much that I’m wearing it everyday. Best blind buy I have ever bought and it’s so affordable! If it’s worn with the perfume oil the longevity of it is insane for the price. Side note: It layers really well with Oud 24 Hours

When I first got this in winter nearly 2 years ago I wasn’t sure if I liked it. The opening was a loud, fizzy amber/apple/mandarin and took me by surprise. Later on was when the sweetness and vanilla kicked in. It went to the back of my collection and I decided to get it out again this summer and try again. The opening is still fairly loud but it has mellowed somewhat and the vanilla and rose is more to the front. The amber and fruits are still very present and stay all the way through but get much softer. Even in the hot weather this has performed admirably and I can still smell it on my wrists and clothes at the end of the day. I’m so glad I got this out again, it’s now in my top 3 my summer scents.

I have a small roll-on of this perfume in its concentrated oil form and so far I really like it. It's an interesting unisex scent. It opens with a mixture of some fruitiness (possibly from mandarin orange) and some florals (ylang ylang, rose...). Then the spices come through and later on what I get is this very nice, almost comforting unisex combination of wood+sweetness. That's how it goes for the rest of time. I got this for free and it's going to be a valuable addition to my unisex perfumes. :)

This is not a review but more of an addition to my comment below (I noticed nobody else commented on this perfume anyway): I find myself to reach for and wear this fragrance more than I originally expected. :) it's so nice, sweet and woody, warm and oily in its quality, also very comforting. I love my small roll-on of this. :D it's such a tiny and inconspicuous perfume, yet so lovable. I can't stop smelling my wrists.

I secretly really love this one even though it doesn't compare to more complex scents, Shams Al Emarat Khususi is definitely one of my faves from Ard Al Zaafaran. Opens up with a slightly masculine, citrusy apple then dries down to a vanilla cookie... Literally smells edible cookie deliciousness. VERY seductive and an easy happy reach :)

I used to wear this all the time, went through like 6 bottles. Going to buy it again, I miss it. I think this suits men. It's sweet, woody, middle eastern, and just reminds me of what a red ruby would smell like, luxurious and sparkly/dark, just like the colour of the bottle. I like the oud and woodiness in this.

*perfume oil review * Love at first sniff. It smells like vanilla and incense to me. Right on application, it leans a little masculine and fresh but the dry down is sweet and oriental. Not the greatest longevity or projection but for this type of scent, I prefer it to sit close to the skin. Really comforting.

I have this in the bakhoor version and chefs kiss bruh it smells so good 💋💯 I now also have the perfume and chefs kiss it also smells SO GOOD wow also this is def unisex Testing it layered with the solid vegan leather jacket by lush to add some extra smokiness to it 😌💨

I discovered this gem in a small shop in Jordan while I was deployed there. Fell in love instantly. Bought it, wore it, then when I got home to the states I ordered two more bottles. Very high quality and long lasting, yet incredibly affordable!

I had a woman in a 7-11 store tell me I smelled "delicious". I've had complements on this perfume but this one was the best. For some reason this one resonates with people. It's very inexpensive so you get your money's worth. It lasts 6-8 hours.

Really good value perfume! I love the packaging and bottle, they even add a deodorant with the same smell. Perfume is oily and long lasting, smells really fresh and kinda woody. More Male than Female but works for both.

I love this scent. It kinda smells like bubble gum to me in the best way. It doesn’t smell cheap, it smells very unique. Fresh, sweet and confident scent. 😍

This is a must have for me! It opens with a fresh apple. As it dries down you get a warm spicy, ambery vanilla fragrance. Love at first sniff for me.

I have tested it in a perfume store, This fragrance starts with sweety fruity fresh flory fragrance in clear balanced way then vanilla and powdery notes will be depth and depth in the dry down with fruity flory fragrance still exist in the background, I didn't smell oud ingrediant at all. I think this fragrance is very calm balanced easy to love it, but I wonder the name of this perfume which is too long, surely this perfume tends to feminine aspect more than masculine or absolutely it's for women not suitable for mens at all. Synthetic fragrance here if it exist is unnoticeable at all, In General, I advise anyone going to buy any of lattafa perfumes to macerate it from 2 - 3 mothes then start to use it, beacause the maceration make the pefrume ingrediants to be harmonizes together. If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise that you can blind buy if you interest balanced calm perfumes contains mixed notes from many ingrediants. This fragrance suitable to wear it at night in all seasons, It lasts 8 hours on the leather and more than one day on the clothes. لقد جربته في محل عطور، يبدأ هذا العطر برائحة زهرية حلوة فاكهية منعشة بطريقة متوازنة واضحة ثم تتعمق الفانيليا والبودرة في القاعدة مع رائحة زهرية فاكهية لا تزال موجودة في الخلفية، لم أشم رائحة العود على الإطلاق. أعتقد أن هذا العطر متوازن للغاية وسهل الإعجاب به، لكنني أتعجب من اسم هذا العطر فهو طويل جدًا. بالتأكيد هذا العطر يميل إلى الجانب الأنثوي أكثر من الذكوري أو قطعاً فهو مخصص للنساء وليس للرجال على الإطلاق. الرائحة الصناعية هنا إذا كانت موجودة فهي غير ملحوظة على الإطلاق، بشكل عام، أنصح أي شخص ينوي شراء أي من عطور لطافة أن يعتقه لمدة 2 - 3 أشهر ثم يبدأ في استخدامه، لأن التعتيق يجعل مكونات العطر متناغمة معًا. إذا لم تشم رائحة هذا العطر من قبل، أنصحك بإمكانك شراؤه شراء أعمى إذا كنت مهتمًا بالعطور الهادئة المتوازنة التي تحتوي على نوتات منوعة ممزوجة من العديد من المكونات. هذا العطر مناسب لارتدائه ليلاً في جميع الفصول، يدوم لمدة 8 ساعات على الجلد وأكثر من يوم على الملابس.

Mind you there are two versions of Shams Al Emarat (Sun of Emirates). The regular version in the black, cube bottle and a Khususi (Special) version in the dark red cube. The regular version is the one that comes more readily in pocket size card-like sprayers, and rollers. They have almost the same composition, except that the Khususi version has a smidgen of oud, added to the base notes. I have the regular version in a pocket size sample, and the Khususi in full size as well as body spray. I wish it was the other way around. The regular SAE leans a tad more feminine. The top notes have a missing orange or tangerine note here, because it is definitely there that’s why many people think it smells similar to Soft by Alrehab. However, the resemblance ends with the top notes. It opens with sweet citruses and then moves to a very warm sweet heart. The spices are definitely in the anise/fennel family. They have licorice undertones, very intriguing, as well as a warm creamy and sweet rose. It has average performance which is a bit disappointing for an oriental Middle Eastern perfume however, I still find it very beautiful. SAE Khususi is very similar, however, there is a bit of smokiness to from the tiny dose of oud present. This one is more unisex , but I always find that the oud renders a perfume less versatile to use. It needs a very special occasion, (black and white tie event in the dead of winter), and as I live in a very hot country almost year-round I seldom wear oud. Overall they’re both very nice, slightly westernized orientals.

Shams Al Emerat Khususi by Ard Al Zaafaran: Warm, cozy rose-vanilla scent with a slight fresh apple in the opening. The rose in this scent is more of a light, diffusive rose rather than a sweet, jammy rose. Overall, it's pleasant without overstaying its welcome until it gets softened further by creamy sandalwood and vanilla in the dry down. Longevity is decent on this scent with 6 hours but for me silliage is basically non-existant, this is definitely a skin scent at its core. Cost me around £18 for my bottle, if you don't mind the non-existant projection then this is a very safe scent to purchase.

Aoud? What aoud? This is a sensual rose + spices + vanilla + sandalwood unisex leaning towards feminine combination that is intoxicating and long lasting. I purchased a 20ml travel size but undecided about purchasing a full bottle because it's not the sort of thing I'd wear other than for special evening occasions, and not much of those have been going on in my life. A bit too heavy for daytime, best for autumn and winter in my opinion or summer/spring nights only. Update: The more I test it, the less I like it... it smells a bit unrefined. I probably will not be purchasing a full bottle.

This is quite masculine, a fresh-spicy woody scent that’s pleasant but not unisex to me. The rose, amber, patchouli, sandalwood, and orange are the most prominent. I don’t smell any resemblance to PR one million or a bubble gum scent. The oud in here is not dirty or overbearing. A nice, unique scent that is a safe blind buy if you enjoy fresh rose/wood fragrances.

love this scent, and for the price i think everyone should have it has nice projection and silage, lasts a good 8 hours smells clean, rosy, sweet-spicy with hints of oud and musk perfect for date nights, nights out, every day very unique middle eastern scent, would love if this projected more though but cant really complain because of the price 9/10

I was pleasntly surprised smelling this one, It has lots of Floral notes at the beginning but the dry down is really masculine with oud notes and is not overly sweet my only complaint is that it does not project at all and is hard to be noticed without spraying it 8-9 times but its cheap and worth purchasing

Starts with a blast of apples and some florals. That goes away pretty quickly and then the vanilla and spices come out. It sits close to the skin, making it very cozy. It leans more masculine imo and would make my knees melt if I smelled this on a man. But I can totally rock this in colder weather.

The rose isn’t overpowering and you can smell the apple in it. It’s a cozy rose vanilla scent. I’ve had it for 3 years and something in it now makes me nauseous but it’s a good perfume. Very feminine.

If Paco Rabanne were to introduce a "Bubblegum"-centric fragrance, this is what it would smell like. Nice, but a tad bit fleeting. Doesn't linger for too long.

Middle Eastern version of the DKNY apple Perfumes. Sweet warm apple with oud type. Imo it would even go well in the spring/autumn not just winter

I was hoping this one to be more Oriental, sensual and deep but I was underwhelmed by a quite forgettable scent. It’s quite generic scent something you could find at Body shop or heavily discounted drug store from the racks and bins. I had to over spray for more than 25 sprays plus reapplied more a few hours later but still the performance is very tame and lame. It was very inexpensive like many other Middle Eastern fragrances but sometimes you get what you paid for. And from my experience after buying so many Middle Eastern fragrances, they are usually so good in many ways but you will get a miss once in a while. However, for those who like soft fruity light floral with soft amber and woody note in the background might enjoy this. It’s not a bad fragrance as an overall scent but I like to smell more personality in them. I could be wrong but people who like Baccarat Rouge 540, they might also like this and that one is not my cup of tea either and it’s just me. I don’t hate this type of scent profile but I was hoping to smell more backbone, more wow factors with a bit of umph but I guess I will have to layer with other Oriental fragrances with more spice, wood/oud notes. By the way oud in this fragrance is almost next to nothing (or nothing at all!) and I’m being generous to say this. LOL! I look for it but all I can detect is more of a soft silent and light woody note in the background with very underwhelming amber note in the far background. It was an disappointment but I can still use it for casual afternoon errand day. Probably it’s better during more of warmer days even during the heat summer. I think there are more better options within the house of Ard Al Zaafran.

Ylang ylang is really off putting for me in perfumes but in this one its blended really well. I can smell the apple and vanilla and there's that cosy smell in the dry down of the white musk and oud intermingling. The dry down is very similar to Al haramains "Delicate" (which really is a comforting delicate smell). I love this for its pleasant comforting aroma. Its a clean musky, fruity oud. (The oud is ever so tame).

For a cheapie it's actually complex into the dry down and that's because it strikes with me as fairly evenly dispersed notes and I can pick up on most of the notes in the perfume pyramid. It's blended incredibly well. I'm a male and I would say this is unisex right down the middle.

The first thought that came into mind when I smelled this perfume was one million by paco rabanne. It doesn't smell 100% like it because this has other notes in it. But if you smell this you'll definitely smell the one Million dna in it

This is a good alternative to JPG II and TED LAPIDUS ALTAMIR. I put it side by side with Altamir, they are almost identical. Moderate performance. Unisex.

Really sexy, vanilla, oud. Very unisex but would be absolutely scrumptious on a well dressed man.

Smell like plastic doll head and a little bit of citrus that is going bad
