Jardin Savage

I think @stinkyriddle describes this attar quite well. Compost, mulch, leather. It feels similar to Areej le Doré Royal Barn but it's missing some of the more unique coloring to the smell that Royal Barn offers. What you get here is a brown-shaded leather that is amped up to 10 on the animalic aspect coming from the oud and civet. I pick up the carnation - it actually gives off this echo of ALD Antiquity, but it is buried in the diesel like gassy oud in the opening. The rhododendron opens the show with a tart, lemony floral before putting on your calfskin leather gloves and the oud takes you to the compost pile. After some time, the cumin becomes more apparent, dancing around, giving a prickly, velvety, enveloping texture to the affair. Like the feeling of cognac going down the hatch. It gets smokier and smokier over time. Really dry. This is a daaaark wear. I'm absolutely a fan, but there is something to the formality of the composition (spicy oriental leather) that says "good for dressing up and going out", but there is something about the raw animalic qualities that says "may not be a crowd pleaser". Like I said, I'm a fan either way.

Extremely potent and fecal animalic. The floral and spicy notes, in particular a mix of beeswax and carnation give it some form, but the Indian oud dominates behind them strongly. Challenging, to appreciate requires dedication

This is essentially Hindi Oud, with intense fermentation, supported by an incredibly raw civet note. Think brown mulch with fresh herbal compost. It has the aroma of sunbaked, leather gardening gloves if they were dipped in civet and Oud. The florals are there however they’re subdued. Each material serves to enhance a different facet of the Oud oil itself. This may be the most off putting spicy, herbal aroma I’ve ever smelled from Russian Adam but I do feel like if this was somehow added to or layered with another attar it could serve some purpose in my collection. Jardin Savage feels like a stripped down Hindi Oud centric version of Royal Barn without any of the interesting qualities that make Royal Barn utterly unique and fascinating. However I still commend Russian Adam for how avant garde this composition is. It’s expertly blended as well. Performance is uncanny for an attar.

Prominent indian oud with rubbery facets thats mixed with a concoction of flowers like champaca and spices that stylistically form ghaliah. Its red and brown oudy attar thats multifaceted and very much Eastern leaning, so might be challenging for western audience. Longevity and projection are good.
