Nepalese Patchouli

A lovely charismatic fragrance... The fragrance opens with a lovely blast of floral notes, an impressive blend of lilac, hyacinth, and blue lotus with a bite of animalic musk. This combination creates a cool and harmonious floral bouquet. Also, the violet is slightly present in the opening as well. As the fragrance unfolds, it transforms into a deep, earthy Nepalese Patchouli paired with Violet leaf beautifully adding a nice green edge to it, while the Orris butter and Oakmoss adds a rich powdery, buttery texture, luxurious-softness and freshness like ozonic/marine. In the base, the earthy Patchouli become lighter as the fragrance settles on the bed of earthy-damp-woody notes (at the early stage) that tends to be Truffle together with the Nepalese Patchouli, and powdery Orris root in conjunction with Ethiopian Civet which softened it. Hence, the Civet magnificently fade into a warm, sweet-balsamic like beeswax type of smell, but not overly sweet or animalic whatsoever, while the Patchouli & Truffle still slightly holding their position. The final stage (in the base) smells very damp, earthy and slightly leathery like suede. It has distinct aromas like soft floral resins driven by animalic deer musk with its chocolatey molecule. It's most likely there are other notes in this composition that are not official or maybe those materials used have unique facets because the whole fragrance journey is incredibly interesting to me, the fragrance does seems like something you are familiar with or have smelt before but then you can't figure it out. The fragrance performs better on my skin than clothes surprisingly. However, the sillage and longevity is similar to "By The Kaaba", though, it might be too early to judge as the fragrance needs time to macerate very well. In one word, I would describe this composition as earthy-floral-woody fragrance sitting on civet-resins and chocolatey musk❤️💎💐🫡

I received my bottle today and my first impression is... disappointed. Where is the “oud like” smell from the Patchouli? Is Patchouli even in this fragrance? All I get is floral and musks. It’s blended well and it does smell nice and creamy for the 2 hours that it lasts. The worst part? The performance is atrocious! This is not even close to moderate performance. I sprayed about 8 sprays on body and clothes and I can hardly smell it after two hours. I expect 5-7 hours if it was described as “moderate performance”. I am going to check back in a month and rewrite my review if it improves. For now, this might be the most disappointing release that I own from ALD next to Oud Taiwan.

Very nice chypre done in a masterful way. Start is this floral, creamy, cold lipsticky orris and lilac like note thats backed by a very fine, pleasant leather note thats soft and supple. I might be wrong but gives vibes of 'A good nights kiss" start. After this stage a dry chypre comes through in its full glory, very similar to Diaghilev, but not as fruity, more woody, with finely aged brown patchouly and super high quality, indolic civet, in its full glory, gently overstepping boundary of apropriate. Perfume has excellent longevity and projection, half a spray is more than enough for me. Its middleweight release, maybe just a tad heavier than Diaghilev. Nepalese patchouli resides in that field where its playing a tug-o-war between masculine and feminine, woody on one side and civety chypre on the other, but an excellent work overall.

Just sparyed after a few days sitting unopened i get some foral scent as the mist travels through the air. Than a damp oud slight green i picture oud next to some mint about 10 minutes the mint green fades i start to get a bit of the black truffle. I get soft powdery like smelling a luxury suede glove then an animalic musk about 30 minutes still get some musk with the cevit with some patchouli coming in it is a skin scent only about 45 minutes into it will let my bottle sit for a few weeks before trying again
