Ottoman Empire III

Shares similarities with Ottoman Empire II extrait and the attar, though leaning closer to the attar as I find it more dense than OEII extrait. Rose seems to be amped up in this composition, giving it a more compelling edge and a marked improvement over the previous versions (although I do love them as well). Base is as wonderful as the previous version, very dense and opulent. Russian Adam has mentioned that this is his favorite perfume and I can clearly see why. Longevity is there as usual, and as with all ALD compositions. A very pretty, well-balanced masterpiece of a fragrance, and the (retail) price makes it extremely extremely worth it. I got this in the pre-sale set but I believe they are launching/have launched individual bottles for sale. Edit: Individual bottles sold out in 4-5 minutes?? Wow

I haven’t sampled the first two so I can’t compare them, but I do love this one. It’s very nice, the opening is my favorite. I do agree it doesn’t project much and on me it doesn’t last more than a few hours. I have 20ml left, when I run out I won’t be replacing this one. There are other ALD I own and love much more, such as Siberian Musk, Antiquity, Grandenia, Indolis, Plumeria de Orris and Koh i Noor. All of which are almost possible to find now days. I would love to sample the first two Ottoman Empire, but I can’t find anyone who has samples for sale. Oh well, I’ll have to be happy with what I have.

It’s a rose lovers dream.Very well blended spicy rose has good longevity.Wear itself or with any musk offering from Areej for extra boost.Must have for rose lovers.Ottoman 4 is more spicer than 3.Ottoman is something I will keep in my collection forever.

Russian Adam did a different job which I personally prefer. I understand the evolution from the first two, like a great artist who doesn't need to make too much noise to strike. Beautiful work.

A lot less dense and less rich than OE2, this is a watered-down version with added rose. The smell is almost identical to the first two iterations but the projection, richness, and longevity are lacking here. And no, it is not a matter of maturation, I left it many months but it still falls way short. You can still get a good 8-10 hours but this sits closer to the skin whereas the previous iterations project insanely for a good 24-48 hours.

Pretty dmn wank this one, went in with an open mind left with disappointment. ottoman 3 was quite lacking for me in terms of both vibrancy and creativity a rather uninteresting rose competing rather then playing along side a in my opinion mediocre Hindi oud, I found my interest drifting rather quickly the other minor elements such and the spices and the resins where notable but felt like they where overpowered to the point where i had to look rather hard to notice them and even then my thoughts still remain the same.

I love OE and OE2 both very good compositions, heavy oud in the first and then a nice balance of oud and rose for the second, unfortunately the 3rd instalment of OE isn’t like the first two. Opens up with a watery rose and some resins and that’s almost about it, very weak in comparison and I feel strongly let down. This should’ve been left alone in the vault and not released “yet” again. -

Since I'm fairly new to Areej le Dore fragrances, I have yet to sample all the previous iterations of this scent. So I'm going to judge this perfume for its own merits. From what I've smelt from ALD so far, this is quite refined while still retaining a signature rawness like his other works. Surprisingly, I don't see anyone mention the dark chocolate vibe from the opening. Which I guess it's built from the ouds, nutmeg and sandalwood to create this earthy,creamy and dusty chocolate accord. There is also an apparent fruity jammy floral note that turns this into a gourmand to my nose, thanks to the combination of frangipani and rose. A photorealistic rose water commonly found in Indian cuisine, but so multifaceted from different kind of roses mesh together. Some sticky myrrh to balance out the sweetness of the florals and elevates them. The cold spice vibe supports the opening while the black pepper added some kicks to it. The oud is very pleasant on the background with some distinct medicinal woody aspects of it, very light animalic feel making this a safe wear (also because there isn't a whole lot of it). There is a comforting warmth in this, largely because of the amber notes, which makes this perfume even more regal than it already is. And the saffron compliments the rose while making this truly a mouth watering, decadent fantasy dessert that truly fits for royalties. In the far dry down I find the unlisted ambergris note to be all that remain. Whereas it is ever so slightly briney throughout the whole composition. It is overall a very pleasant wear, and it's much more than just a rose fragrance. Evocative, decadent and regal would sums up this perfume fairly well. But to get the whole picture, you will have to wear this extensively through multiple wears. If roses are the queen of florals, then this is the queen of queens (until I find something better).

As Mehmed II entered through the big brown door of Hagia Sophia with Halil Pasha trailing behind him, he looked around and saw flags being taken down, statues of old caesar's being removed. Without facing his trusted advisor, he asked him "Do you smell something, uncle?". Confused, Halil Pasha stepped forward and looked into his Sultan's eyes "My Sultan?". Mehmed smiled and said "This is the scent of Glory Halil Pasha, scent of our glorious Ottoman Empire" Ottoman Empire III, the third iteration of Adam's masterpiece is an opulently grandeur fragrance befitted to be worn by Monarchs and alike. It starts off with a slightly woody, bitter, non-fecal oud which is soon engulfed by the bouquet of roses with Turkish being most prominent. It has that familiar barbeque- esque smokey Areej le Dore DNA that can also be found prominently in Koh-e-Noor and Walimah. Between the interweaving of Oud and Rose, cardamom and dry resinous myrhh create a complex interlocking pattern. To my nose, the whole concoction exhumes a vintage vibe. When the juice was fresh, oud was not as prominent as it is now making it incredibly close to Extrait and Attar version of Ottoman Empire II. Performance like most Areej fragrances is excellent, lasting on skin for nearly 12 hours and projecting at an arm's length for first 2 hours. In Conclusion, i would like to declare Ottoman Empire III as a crowning jewel of my small and humble collection, my own Red Apple. If you miraculously get a chance to score a bottle of it, do not think twice.

An upgraded take on Ottoman Empire. The top notes have been completely re-blended with a heavy doses of natural rose ottos, the highlight being Turkish Rose (as would make sense given the name Ottoman Empire). The re-worked top lends a dew-like wet opening to the perfume, and balances out the composition very well. The heart and base are almost identical to the previous editions: regal, resinous oud, dense fuzzy florals, and amber-like spices. Due to the more natural, rose heavy top-notes, I believe this is an upgrade. Good job Russian Adam. If you scored a bottle, you’re in luck, as this sold out in less than 5 minutes!
