Paradise Soil

My first impression review for the full set. I may add the full post impressions later, after a week. This is hands down the best scent out of this collection. Not my fav (read other ones reviews), but the best. This is sweet, pleasant, and this pleasance comes across like blended by some top-level french master perfumer (Which Adam is not on that level, but this happened here). This is not very animalic, but it absolutely covers the urge for a great musk scent, which are in lights of Siberian Musk or Russian Musk. Although 2 times less animalic than latest Siberian Musk, but also 2 times more wearable. What creates this pleasant 10/10 french feel for this perfume? My guess is that it is refined, vintage Ylang-Ylang (Why vintage? Because it doesn't come across harsh and sharp, as usually YY does). Then it is a nice Rose, Jasmine (Probably Sambac, as it is pleasant and I don't feel indoles which may come from J Grandiflorum). And then the Tuberose with the Saffron! And this is designer-like saffron, which is absolutely good for this composition, as true proper saffron comes across strong, sour and overpowering. And my God, the cacao, cambodi oud and mysore sandalwood do absolute freaking wonders in here! Hands down, out of this collection, this scent will be the most hunted one. This one will become the next Walimah or Siberian Musk. This makes this purchase worth it. And well, my developed nose doesn't take it very animalic, whereas I know that for such pleasure and distinction, only the right level of animalic scents can give me such amazing feeling. It is like a cigar, if you are a novice, a strong cuban can do bad for you, but when you are advanced in the game, those are the ones that make you feel all its notes and complexity. And I would love if anyone next in the comments will tell me, what is the niche scent that this reminds me of. But please, don't take it offensive, it is not to say that this is not unique or designer like, it is just that the appealing part in here is done on a french-master-perfumer level. P.S. This fragrance opens up with the most gorgeous burst of white and yellow florals, chocolatey musk, and jammy, almost gourmand rose. It is one of the most stunning openings I've experienced in modern perfumery. There is also an undercurrent of saffron, which combines with the musk to give a clean skin or expensive purse vibe. As the fragrance develops a kind of bright tuberose becomes apparent, gradually becoming centre stage, which can be slightly bubble gummy at times, but this is perfectly balanced with the emergence of a wet soil note. At this stage of the development I am often reminded of a great red fruit and forest floor-dominated Burgundy Grand Cru, like Clos de la Roche, which can also have a raw meat component, which resembles the musk here. It is a truly haunting beauty that hovers around you for hours. As it dries down the florals soften and the Cambodian oud comes out with the creamy sandalwood, the mid notes still present, but gradually transitioning into something leathery and sweet. This fragrance has an old world field about it, bringing to mind classic Hollywood glamour, while also seeming like a Bortnikoff in its emphasis on the florals, but far more vintage than anything from Bortnikoff, who focusses more on modern scents with high quality ingredients rather than recreating a nostalgia for the past. This is by far the worst floral of the collection, but the florals are so well encapsulated by the sensual musk, chocolate, and soil notes that it never comes off as being anything but perfectly unisex. It is not as complex as Royal Barn or Cuirtis, yet it is easier to wear, and the animallics come across as vintage, clean and sexy, with a slight dustiness, as opposed to challenging in any way. The scent of Paradise?

My personal favorite from the collection. You do have to have a keen appreciation and open-mind towards the white florals forwardness of this fragrance to appreciate this. I think many seem to suggest that anything that smells extremely pungent, animalic, fecal or gladiator-esqe (etc) is automatically the superior fragrance (as you can see in the rankings of this collection itself, where the two most wearable fragrances in CDC and PS are usually at the bottom), but I digress. isunnychaudhry said it perfectly, that this fragrance serves to show how you can blend musks in a masterful composition without the musk itself being center stage. The musk here is not animalic. It adds a dry/powdery dimension, slightly dirty/dusky comfort and helps bring these beautiful florals to life. But not in a clean, modern white floral composition type of way. This is a nostalgic fragrance; something that one with a grandparent or great-grandparent may vividly recall. The early 20th century old fashion blends with real musks circulating much of Eastern Europe and the Arab world, which were often paired with notes such as jasmine. Hence, I don't think that Russian Adam's choice to use jasmine as the center stage here is accidental. The oud is aged and buttery. I'm actually really excited to see how this one changes with time. RE: performance concerns - I did one spray to my inner elbow, and could smell it through the clothes I was wearing on top for about half the day.

Now THIS is a creation I can get behind, Paradise Soil is an absolute beauty, oozing with delicious elegance and character. This chocolatey-floral delight is like nothing I’ve ever smelled before, really pushing the boundary of what niche perfume can be - I love it. The cacao is actually the most prominent note to my nose, its beautifully sweet and creamy chocolatey facets tempered by the dark and inviting earthiness it also holds. Beautifully thick, indolic white florals and tuberose and Jasmine dance alongside the sharp, urinous allure of natural deer musk and oud. Before it becomes too skanky however, copious amounts of sandalwood lend to the soft creamy nature. I think this is absolutely brilliant, it’s been a long time since something has wowed me like this. It definitely won’t be for everyone, but that’s the nature of a house such as Areej Le Doré. This is a truly unique and innovative creation which really deserves so much more attention.

For those who can't smell the musk and are overpowered by the florals, I understand but disagree. The florals lift the musk and vise versa, but having smelled raw Siberian deer musk, the musk in this perfume comes through powerfully. This is a buttery, waxy, chocolatey, incredibly floral musky fragrance with a pinch of saffron for me. It's so opulent it makes one hungry. For those overwhelmed or initially dissatisfied, I felt the same way. However, after spending time with it, it has quickly become my favorite fragrance I have ever smelled. Don't shy away from the price tag, if you love rose, jasmine, musk, and cacao this is your fragrance. The notes blend into something greater than the sum of its ingredients but not so much so you can't pull out certain scents. It's a divisive fragrance for certain, but the fact that this isn't sold out and the star of the publics opinion is beyond me.

This is not love at first sniff. I enjoyed Forbidden Flower and Royal Barn more when I initially received the line. However, this one really stood out in winter months especially when the body temperature is warm at night. The initial blast has very prominent chocolate, tuberose, ylang-ylang, and musk. I previously disliked the chocolaty musk concept and felt it is really out of place to pair chocolate with musk. After wearing the fragrance when body heat up in colder weather, the scent becomes very cozy and comforting and just simply radiating opulence and elegance from the shiny powdery floral musk. In the drydown, clean oud profile peeked through giving the floral musk a woody backbone to sustain the beautiful trail. It is now a savoring love for me.

The opening of the fragrance is a stunning floral combo which is so well blended that it is difficult to say whether it is jasmine, rose or others. It gives a rich and deep experience, supported by the musk and perhaps a bit of saffron and oud. The oud can hardly be detected, but likely gives a deep richness to the scent. The florals fade after some time, and the musk remains. A beautiful musk it is, not especially animalic, just natural. Wearable and long lasting. Perfectly unisex in my opinion.

Ima absolutely blown away by this one. Vintage floral to the Nth power. Rose, ylang, jasmine, tuberose, the musk underpinning gives it a big thick depth. My favorite aspects are the way the musks and spices transition the floral down to the Cambodi Oud/cocoa/gourmand musk base. I’ve got deer musk perfumes covered and Did NOT expect this to be my favorite from the set. Definitely leans on the feminine side but I don’t care at all. Lovely lovely work. I just keep reaching for it.

I have a back up bottle of this amazing fragrance, but I forgot how many mils is in the bottle. It doesn’t say on the bottle or on any of the packaging. It’s frustrating because I want to sell samples and need to know how to price the samples and make a profit. Does anyone know how many mils are in these bottles. Please send me a message.

Beautiful white floral, so complex yet so inviting. I would say Paradise Soil is bright and dirty, I get a Jasmine feeling throughout the scents life. This one is very hard to describe in my opinion. Deer musk is very present also. I probably have to return to it some more times to write a more nuanced review but I atleast know I like it

Exquisite. A refreshing departure for me, the commoner; the influenced; not having a propensity for flowery, intense creative language. Having spent a foolish and embarrassing sum on fragrances, almost entirely as blind buys, this fragrance does not disappoint. It doesn't dry down to powder, amber, cumin or stale, floral sweetness.

first impressions: beautifully rendered jasmine with soft powdered touches of musk. a white flower wonderland! dries down to a wonderfully musky, animalic oud with the jasmine playing second fiddle in the background.

It was a blind buy ... first from Areej le Dore. In short: very nice 👌 superb quality 🫡 little beautiful bottle 🏆

10/10 scent I have almost full bottle, if someone interested

Undoubtedly great, but perhaps I expected more from this. I've had a small decant of Paradise Soil for a few months and I've always treated it like liquid gold because of the price I paid for it. My initial impressions were quite positive from what I remember, but I never got around to wearing it until today. This opens with a very indolic, dare I say bubblegummy even, yet extremely well done blend of tuberose, ylang-ylang and jasmine, under which lies a base of dry cacao and oud. Initially the cacao is apparent in the air but it's not long lived, the floral bouquet (as my mom and sister described the smell of the fragrance) is much more pervasive. The oud and cacao are much more noticeable up close on skin, however, smooth but with a distinct dryness that comes across texturally like powder. The dry down on skin treads familiar ground, being very similar to the fermented fruits-like smell certain ouds develop on my skin (I believe Cambodian oud specifically), something I've noted and mentioned with several fragrances from the Bortnikoff father-son duo (Amber Balsam, Vanilla Oud, Musk Couture, Tabac Doré, Oud Monarch, etc.). Unlike those fragrances, however, the oud in Paradise Soil never leans too much to the fermented side, it does retain a relatively sweet fruitiness, which I find very likeable. My biggest gripes with Paradise Soil are how indolic it is in the opening and that I would have liked the oud and cacao to be more noticeable in the fragrance's sillage. Admittedly I sprayed this very lightly in case this was as incredibly potent as Royal Barn, so the latter critique might be a non-issue if sprayed in normal amounts. I also think it's ridiculously expensive for how "basic" I found it, but that's besides the point.

Surprised by this as I thought the oud, musk, and saffron would be the main players. What you get is a lot of jasmine, tuberose, and ylang-ylang with a very caring touch of musk. Unfortunately, the florals overpower all the other notes which are only detectable in the latter stages. Nothing animalic or musky about Paradise Soil. It would smell great on a woman; men be careful. Performance is average. The most expensive offering of this collection at $450. Make sure you try it first as it's not what is expected.

An update: Some are saying they can hardly sense the oud? This has a big Oud! But the florals and musk are equally big. So the oud doesn't dominate, but it gives it the dark woody, oudy base. Also, as I don't like tuberose, it it not the main floral, jasmine is, but it's a great medly of many flirals. This is the first time I tried my sample in cold Winter. I'm more impressed now than when first tried some months back. Tuberose and ylang are my least favorite flowers. But this is so well done I enjoy it alot. Like one reviewer said, something smells off. Maybe musk and chocolate don't feel right together. Of the 20 Areej le Dores I've reviewed, this is the most floral; waxy indolic white florals mainly. A nice earthy spiciness is there throughout, from the saffron I guess and some from the smoky sandalwood. Great quality oud is definitely evident as a solid woody basenote. I detect an unlisted leather/ birchtar here. Musk is surely there but overwhelmed by the oud and florals till the dry down. It's a strong, bold Oriental floral. One of the Areej Ouds that's unisex. I don't like that term, I prefer gender neutral. But it being a dark floral dominant fragrance; I would say feminine, yet has manly appeal as well. I like Cuirtis and Royal Barn better. I have not tried Forbidden Flower or Creme from this line. Just not my favorite notes. But a great fragrance that many will enjoy emensly. Longevity and projection are at the top for Areej le Dore fragrance. PS: I'm wearing this in early Spring, and I like it more now. Realy thinking it's a great oud and big floral fragrance I would like to have. So bumping up my rating by .5. I have Grandinia, so it may satisfy my itch for a great Oriental floral. This is now my favorite from the musk collection. I sold my bottles of Cuirtis and Royal Barn. They were too over powering and not so wearable after a while. I am Really enjoying the dry-down of Paradise soil now. Sweet florals and chocolate oud, with a bit of warm spice. Very wearable and enjoyable.

#sotd Paradise Soil by Areej Le Dore from Russian Adam After first couple of sprays It's more of a paradise than soil for me. Which isn't bad by any means. PS is more than just Musk. It starts off with rose, a beautiful dewy rose which is very fresh and almost honeyed but the Jasmine here is to die for. I love love love Jasmine flower and it's aroma and this one is no exception. Jasmine in the opening of PS is very gentle, precisely sweet but green which adds some depth to the fragrance as well as make it a little complex which works in favor of PS as it helps in making this fragrance pretty unique. After 20 minutes it's Musk show, pretty sensuous Musk which would make you weak to the knees. It's very soft and powdery but very alluring. I would say it's a match made in heaven, night blooming Jasmine and real Musk, I don't want to look beyond this beautiful composition for a while. Let me be lost in the midst of these powerful aromas. Two hours in and and you start noticing some florals, white florals which are not overpowering but present, delicate yet rich in aroma. Close your eyes and sniff your skin up close, it may remind you of bouquet of exotic white flowers. Now time to add some spices to it, saffron! How could you forget about saffron here, it's hay like, earthy and bold however it doesn't last for more than 10-12 minutes or so, I guess mainly because of the bouquet we bought earlier. But the musk in background is not playing around, afterall it's his show. He is the main character and deserves some love. Five hours gone by and rain is not leaving me alone today like this fragrance which is on me and developing beautifully with time. Jasmine starts to rise again from the ashes, with some chocolate vibe and creamy sandalwood. Which keeps sucking you in again and again and you feel confident of what you wearing, at times that's also matters. The Oud here hints of caramel and honey, very clean and non cloying at all but it's mixed with other notes to perfectly tbat you won't be bothered much. Also, I believe the beautiful color of this juice is derived from rose and Oud which glows in sun. The fragrance lasts easy 10 hours and it shows why it's the most expensive one from the lot. This release couldn't have been any better scripted, Musk collection but not emphasising on just the animalics but more of showcasing his craftsmanship on blending them with other florals, ouds and herbals.
