Siberian Musk III

Opens with a very nice citrus top, it's just a touch more citrusy than RM2, and very refreshing with the prominent pine and cypress, the top notes between SM3 and RM2 share a lot of similarities, both of them have the same Chypre feel from the get-go. The deer musk is pronounced but not overpowering, has a hint of beautiful chocolatey undertone without any urinous off notes, musky but not super animalic, nowhere near the zoo level of funkiness from Onthamara and Mongolian Mriga, certainly far less synthetics (aka nitromusk) in both SM3 and RM2 than PRIN's offering as well. Neither one is as powdery as W&P2 or Musk Lave. The musk here is very clean and tamed, I could smell the musk a lot clearer in the scent bubble than up close, the musk in both SM3 and RM2 are also less pungent and animalic than the Siberian musk pod tinctures i have, which I think has a lot to do with the age of the tincture being used in this. SM3 came off a touch brighter and slightly dryer than RM2, while RM2 is a little bit darker and sweeter thanks to the Tonka Bean, RM2 also has a bit more spices in the background than SM3. Both of them have the same tenacity and density, very good projection, but the citruses in SM3 have a bit more prowess and endurance that lasts further into the mid drydown, not bombastically sour or anything, but it adds a very refreshing and uplifting feel to the overall scent profile. I really like and enjoy SM3 just as much as RM2, if you missed out on the SM3 but already have RM2, you aren't missing out much, all the differences between the two are just subtle nuances, the main difference is the SM3 has a bit more pronounced citruses that last longer into the dry down. while RM2 is a little sweeter and warmer in the far dry down. With that said, they are like siblings and share the same musky core DNA, therefore SM3 seems more like a flanker to RM2. If you loved RM2, then SM3 shouldn't disappoint. Both of them are very nice musk perfumes from ALD.

If you've been dying for RM1 for years now, like myself, here you go. I've had that profile in my brain for years waiting for it to reach my hands beyond my original sample, & IMO - Here it is! More refined, but finally, just as glorious, again! Don't like MY opinion? Awesome! Let's go with Russian Adam's: Two years ago I was disappointed with RM1 at first - I spoke with Adam & said I was let down because I wanted that aggressive musk & pine/cypress from RM1 years before: He told me to be patient - for SM3. He also stated RM2 was showcasing Santal Millennium, which explains its softer nature (& absolutely beautiful, ethereal opening & wear). If you knew & were waiting for another RM1 when RM2 came out, you know exactly what I mean. While I can't compare to SM1+2, the general training wheels for the series would be: 2017: SM1 came out. 2018: RM1 was a direct upgrade of SM1. (Adam's words) 2019: SM2 built on the experience of building both scents. 2021: RM2 - Another SM "upgrade" focused on heavy inclusion of Santal Millennium 2023: SM3 gets back to the RM1 profile - a High-End Siberian Musk I see RM1 as Adam releasing a "bespoke" or personal version of SM1... Then doing it again with RM2 & its Santal Millennium overdose. As far as my personal preferences go: This is around the 15/10 mark. Absolutely epic!

I'm a bit disappointed in Siberian Musk III as I was hoping for the continuation of the coniferous pine note in the opening and I definitely don't get any conifers standing out at all. What I am smelling is musk, smoke, and a slight green grassy vibe from galbanum. The musk comes off just a wee bit more synthetic to my nose in SM III that it does in SM I, which is the only other Siberian Musk iteration I've smelled as I haven't had the pleasure of smelling SM II yet. I would also say that the smokey note reminds me very much of the smoke in ALD's Santal Galore, which is not a bad thing at all, but it takes things in a slightly different direction that SM I or the Russian Musk's I and II. My favorite of the ALD musk perfumes is still Russian Musk I by many miles and second would be Siberian Musk I. Both amazing perfumes that just blow my doors off.

Beautiful fragrance and first try at a deer musk perfume and my lord was it an incredible experience. First sniff is a stunning green blast with hues of citrus which quickly changed on my skin to a more voluminous orb of citrus al the while a hum of deep, rich and dark musk hover in the back. This hum slowly becomes louder until it’s front an centre where the most complex radiance comes off from the skin. This is slightly animalic, not pissy or fecal but dark and dense like fur. This lasts an eternity on skin and if you are a lover of deer musk, this is sure to be for you. I really enjoyed this fragrance. Loved the opening freshness. Not my favorite that I got from this collection but it’s great! For me personally this is very animalistic compared to anything I have in my collection and I am not use to it. I do enjoy it but I am not sure if I will ever wear it out.

Areej le Dore Siberian Musk Part III. I have not tried the original iteration of this perfume, but the latest version has become my favorite take on the Verdant Musk genre, surpassing perfumes like Mriga, Mongolian Mriga, and the likes of Russian Musk. The name "Siberian" hints at a verdant theme, and while that holds true for the opening part of this perfume, I get a more Oriental picture overall. Yes, the green facets are prominent at first. There is a grassy quality, a galbanum sharp bitterness, and even some faint pine, but after that initial blast, the musk-amber pairing starts to shine and take center stage in the composition. The musk here feels more aggressive than with both RM 1 and RM2, yet not as unwearable as with Mongolian Mriga. It has that edge and growl but is always kept in check. There is a prominent leathery facet to the fragrance that might be a result of both the musk and the amber fossil used in the base. The latter also lends a beautiful dusty, dry, and smoky quality on top of the glowing warmth. Because of the amber fossil and the prominent musk, on my skin wearing this perfume, makes me think more of the dunes than the plains of the Siberian taiga. And I'm quite fond of that, as I am not the biggest fan of all things verdant. Yet, this fragrance offers plenty of that, and so the balance it's nice, as you do get the Oriental experience with just the perfect amount of forest breeze. It didn't have a major impact at first but has significantly grown in my heart ever since. And out of all the Musk-themed perfumes from the house that I tried, it is my favorite. Bright and sharp green, lots of green that curls into the nose like the smell of grated horseradish. The beginning is bright like the color of citrus fruits mixed with the green of a radiant forest. The further into the forest, the more you can feel the pines and aromatic cypresses. This strong and sharp like the rays of the sun chypre beginning of the scent can be felt for a very long time. After some time, the scent becomes slightly darker, as if going deeper into the forest, we would encounter less and less light that lets through. Then we start to feel the animalic notes. More and more in the base of this scent, the scents of musk, strong and animal musk reach us. A wonderful journey for me and a wonderful scent. Very good durability - 2, max 3 sprays are enough. Projection is also very good. I was waiting for this 3rd version and luckily I waited. Piece of art.

I considered picking this up but heard the galbanum would be really amped up this time around, and I'm not a huge fan of that particular note, so I passed on joining the frenzy. Obviously I can't leave a rating, so I hope those who did purchase it enjoyed this new version. On an unrelated note, I really hope that Russian Adam's next collection will feature something new. No more collabs, histories of bygone perfume, rehashed old stuff, one note attars that you can get other versions of elsewhere. I want to see him actually take a chance and create some new releases. I'm starting to feel like he's out of ideas and is treading water in uninspired territory. Maybe I'm alone here, but I'm currently on the verge of not caring about this house anymore. My two cents.

2nd ever ALD I tried. I was surprised there wasn't as much of a hit of pine as I expected. Lime heavy on the opening and I can detect the natural deer musk. Super nuclear and beastmode. Smells vintage in the air. The smell of Siberian musk 3 is constantly changing on my skin in multiple phases at first smells like you explored a dead alchemist’s house in the basement and found a sealed glass bottle with dust covering it of pine and deer musk pod soaking in bergamot oil for a century. 30 minutes in it is getting darker and the musk is the main star, gaining chocolate like facets.

More green, dry, less citruss fatty version of Siberian/Rush musks. This time around concentration is set on green accords, and pine is finally more visible. Fuzzy spices are reduced along side with concentration, which leaves more space between the notes, opening up the way for notes to show their potential. Still has gentle ambery drydown, but a more simplified one. To me it is the best of the S/R musks themes and feels like a successor to an original RM than Siberian.

This tops my list from the entire release of 2023! The reasons are emotional and pure nostalgia..(reminds me of my dad coming from his tours back home..hence..I am trying to grab this juice). I wont break up the notes break down and majority of the reviewers have profoundly said it..all i can say its unique, amazing, special and it lasts ..(even after showering..) (P.s: If Adam is reading this, please bless me with some of this..)
