The History of Indonesian Oud

I hesitate long time if to buy it, when it was still available at ALD page i was thinking it is somehow not so good as the other creations, maybe bad. So i decided to buy it and it was a good choice. Really nice cola accord from start to finish, in our eastern europe connotation it reminds me cherry compot, sometimes its sweet, sometimes is little bit sour. Its quite weak in sense of projection, but longevity is enough, after cca 8 hours i can still feel cherry cola accord. It will be ideal for summer, ideal oud for summer temperatures or office space. The bad thing is that my atomizer isnt working anymore, because the oil dried up in it. Was trying to put it in ethanol, but it didnt helped. So if you are not using it longer period of time it can happened. But after contacting ALD that my atomizer got stucked, they send me couple of new atomizers for perfume, so they have really good customer support!

I like this. I heat oud chips regularly on a gentle burner and whenever I purchase an oud oil, that gentle, sweet, resinous allure is what I look for, which is hard to replicate in oil or sprayable formats. But this bottle does that quite well. There is absolutely zero barn or challenging notes here, just a simple, clean smell of agarwood with bit of wet soil notes surrounding it. There is also a bit of Chinese medicine/herbal notes that comes through which provides a calming sensation.

Wet wood, cinnamon, cloves blended beautifully. Fairly linear but still lovely and interesting., A very accessible and wearable Oud. This is my first ALD fragrance, and I’m looking forward to explore more from this house.

If your looking for beast mode, loud, barnyard oud this is not it, but what a interesting take on a oud fragrance. No additional notes added per Russian Adam other than the C02 extraction of Indonesian oud, but the nuances from the wood your greeted with almost a cola vibe with strong notes of cinnamon and clove. These notes are fairly fleeting and your left with a very sweet oudy skin scent. It took me awhile to set aside my own expectations and truly enjoy this composition, but let me tell you I really do, and makes me excited for the future of ALD. This is a great oud spray for people on the fence about trying real oud or wanting something lighter or more versatile.

Just received my bottle. Was very excited as I am a huge fan of Russian Adam. But feel a bit let down with my first impression. It is very light in projection with hardly any sillage. Right from the start, it is a pleasant easy to wear skin scent perfume. Spicy and woody, without the barnyard oud note that Russian Adam's creations are famous for. In a way, it is probably good for most occasions as no one will be offended.

An oud without any „classical“ oud associations. No fermented undertones, no funk. Opens up spicy and wooden, with facets of cloves and the feeling of a damp forest. Shortly after, you‘re left with a deep woodsy-resinous, slightly sweet and spicy skin scent that lasts for a full day on me. Quite a unique experience, an unusual clean oud that feels modern and versatile.

Indonesian oud smells like spicy woody amber accord. Cedarwood, cloves and cinnamon or allspice, whichever you prefer, and on me - a touch of iodine. Spices are very minimal and not obnoxious, and overall it is an easy wear, but it is not an interesting wear. While i understand that Adam wanted to do something different, to me, however, his oud collection and attar collection are lazy and sloppy releases. I think its time for him to come back with a bang, and introduce something new. I appreciate re-releases of his classics, a great way to bring back affordable option to purchase his frags, but at the end of the day - please give us something new and complex. Thank you :)

the profile is very green & spicy with a strong "coca-cola", almost mineral vibe. there's also a distinct beeswax / honeycomb sweetness and camp-fire smokiness, & I also get light alcohol touches, like maybe imagine a beeswax tincture? goes slightly sour in cold, while in summer gets even sweeter and almost resinous. smells very complex, lasts about 4 hours on my skin, sits very close. despite its beauty, its not my favourite type of oud - im a long-time Cambodi & Myanmar ouds fan. nevertheless, its definitely a worthy gem for natural oud lovers.

This scent is nothing more than a diluted propolis tincture. If this is ALD's lowest-priced creation (and still quite expensive), I can't even imagine how their more expensive and "legendary" perfumes perform. There's zero longevity, zero projection. Overall, it's just a complete letdown.
