Walimah

A Floral Oud like none other that has ever been created before, this painstaking labor of love is heartbreakingly beautiful. The Champaca Flower enfleurage mixed in with the Oud is probably as romantic as we are going to get in modern perfumery. To this beautiful mix are added natural deer musk, labdanum, vetiver, magnolia, peru balsam, labdanum, cinnamon, saffron, chocolate and tobacco leaves. The whole feeling is like being in a flower laden forest. Unisex (a bit feminine leaning), with moderate to strong sillage/projection and very good longevity. This will be a treasure I will cherish in my perfume collection forever. Enjoy!

Bottled love.... Beautiful blend of florals and animalic fragrances, all superior quality. I don't find this too feminine for a floral. Projection is great as well as longevity. Sillage is also good, you will be notices in a good way. I just ordered the Attar version. Both are still available but I wouldn't wait too long...

I really love this house. I go out of my way to get decants of every release. Although Walimah isn't something I'd go out and buy or wear on a regular basis, it is still something to behold. The florals are indeed the main player, but the earthy notes (vetiver, balsam, oud) add such a beautiful nuance. I just get a really nice old-school vibe from this. Not old-school as in dated; old-school as in a perfume that was made like perfumes were made before restrictions and over-commercialization took over the industry. I could see vintage enthusiasts loving this house. Another winner from Areej Le Dore!!!

Wow.. this is explosive! Champaca, jasmine, sweaty magnolia, vetiver, saffron... I don't take musk chocolate or tobacco leaves as I am overwhelmed by an excellent oud. On my wrist it comes out damn sexy, exuberant and feminine, fruity and citrusy in the first hours with a dark, mysterious and bold red champaca and in the finish with sumptuous oud, musk and amber. Quality!

I agree with Q80 comments. A lovely but not overwhelming floral, and one of the more subdued Areej fragrances. I find magnolia and champaca a lot easier to wear than some of the more intense florals like frangipani/tuberose/ylang ylang.

"Beautiful union of two souls" is how Walimah is defined by the brand and i couldn't agree more. This is THE most exotic, sensual, alluring, narcotic and a genre defining fragrance i have ever had pleasure of donning on myself. It is floral without being too feminine and animalic without being too masculine giving an impression of a walk on tightrope, with an impeccable balance maintained. On front, in the air, it feels like you are falling onto a bed of wet red roses. Roses engulfing your body, the velvety sweetness and natural scent of your skin mingling to create an exhilarating experience. But, when you sniff it closely you would see the complexities and intricacies of this fine masterpiece. From the get-go, you are going to get a very sharp (but not synthetically piercing) and fruity Champaca along with semi sweet Magnolia creating an ultimate line of defense. At this stage i do feel an orange blossom soapiness and i do pick a raw green mango note giving it a bit sour tonality. Both of these notes are not mentioned on official note card but i don't follow note cards to write my reviews. As the first hour passes, you get a familiar Areej le Dore's barbeque-esque DNA with a very soft and subtle Oud (Bengal Oud as per official page) akin to that in Ottoman Empire II. This oud is not at all fecal or wet woody but has that incensy quality to it. As the fragrance further dries down to its finale, the unmistakable tone of Natural Deer Musk with a very prominent earthy, slightly smokey, "one-of-a kind Java vetiver absolute extracted in 2010" show their presence. However, it is important to note that, the oud, the musk and all the other elements lie buried underneath the thick layer of exotic florals, always wanting to overpower without success. Being Pure Perfume Oil, Walimah Attar does not project much but lasts a good 5-6 hours on your skin. To say, Walimah is my favorite fragrance from my most favorite house, would not be an overstatement. I would own several bottles of it, if i could, IF I ONLY COULD.

عطر وليمة يرتكز على زهرة أحببتها من خلال عطر توم فورد الشهير المسمى باسمها تشامبكا. زهرة رصينة للغاية، ولكن آدم أراد أن يضيف إليها الماجنوليا التي تشع حركة البداية تعطي شعورا بالكلاسيكية وكأنها أحد عطور السبعينات المعتقة التيوب روز موجود بشكل واضح وربما بين الحين والآخر تجده المهيمن على الرائحة مع وجود لمسات أنيمالكية كريمية وهذا جعلني أتذكر وبوضوح عطر كايرو من دار قسمة والشبراويشي فالعطران يسيران على نمط متشابة ويكادان يتلامسان عند العديد من النقاط ربما يكون وليمة به لمحات كريمية أكثر من كايرو لكن كايرو يفوقه حركة ستمر فترة طويلة نسبيا حتى ظهور نوتات التبغ والعود والكاكاو كما هو مدون في قلب العطر وهنا يفترقان "وليمة وكايرو" ليتجه وليمة نحو النمط الشرقي. زيوت شرقية فاخرة معتقة وكأنها أحد إصدارات "أمواج عطار" الزيتية وكأنك أمام نسخة شديدة الهدوء من أمواج تريبيوت مع إضافة للتشامبكا العطر جميل حقيقة وخاصة بعد مرور نصف ساعة لأن البداية عادية وغير مبهرة فالعطر حقيقة تبدأ روعته مع ظهور القلب وأراها ستستمر على هذا النحو مع ظهور للزعفران المسكر والقليل من بلسم بيرو الكريمي. هل يستحق العطر ثمنه المرتفع؟ حتما سيكون الجواب مرتهن بالقدرة الشرائية من ناحية ولكن الأهم هو وجود العشق لهذا النمط من العطور الأقرب لخلطات العطار العتيقة

Like being in a jungle at night and smelling strange blossoms that are heavy with scent. Not like any flowers you know. but like ones you imagine on an untamed adventure. Background smells of fertile growth and steamy opulence add to their ripeness. Walimah is lush and finely blended so that it is hard to pick out individual notes. Champaka, magnolia, ylang ylang and tuberose form the floral accord, mixed to create a fantasy floral that is amazing. Heavy with a foreign sweetness that draws you to smell it again and again. Reminds me of JAR perfumes, in that Areej captures the essence of blooms just on the precipice of being overripe, right at the moment they are exuding the maximum scent. Rare ingredients from all over the world, with scent profiles beyond compare, are used and it shows! Walimah's thick, creamy fragrance oozes with animal magnetism.

Quick review: This is a perfect balance between luscious exotic white (magnolia) and yellow (champaca and ylang ylang) flowers and mysterious, dark, notes such as incense, tobacco and Vetiver. The cinnamon, cocoa and saffron are astutely picked to tie together the 2 before-mentioned group of notes. Indeed these 3 notes have a sweet side that goes perfectly with the flowers and darker roots that intertwines with the darker ingredients. The darker notes become more prominent in the dry down. I lived 16 years in Cambodia. Each time I smell this, I see myself walk in the mystique, hundred years old temples surrounded by incense and white flowers. What a fascinating and transcendent perfume.

Look no further to experience what ALD describes as one of his most realistic flower falls ever! The treatment of such delicate scents is truly masterful... it makes me sad to think of all of his floral arrangements I missed before I was introduced to the brand. Cinnamon and saffron steer the creation straight to the heart with a zesty warmth, and the rest is floral onslaught. Massive doses of champaca and whispers of ylang. Clouds of flowers and a creamy earthen base. Near perfection!

OOooooooh... An animalic magnolia that will turn later into soft oud with tropical champaca. It has huge doses of magnolia with few of champaca, and hints of vetiver. Bits of tobacco, lapdanum, and jasmines. I can't detect any oud, saffron, chocolate, or cinnamon some balsam is there but no oud at all. This is quite impressive as their other creation, i can sense quality at it's peak, and i am very impressed with what they came up after the previous gems.

This smells like grandma while she steals 400$ out of your purse or wallet. But if I paid 400$ for it I would feel obligated to love it if I couldn't resell it to make up for my losses. I not opposed to expensive perfume but this is way over priced honestly.
