Argos Pour Femme

While I love my conceptual and/or “offensive” niche fragrances, I really appreciate super wearable, approachable, and chic fragrances, too. Pour Femme is versatile–it’s office- and date-friendly. Hell, I even wear it when I’m loafing around the house in my pjs. Pour Femme’s approachability may be disappointing for people expecting something ostentatious, as its sensibilities are more designer than stereotypical niche. As someone who doesn’t stick to any genre, I really appreciate Pour Femme for what it is. The blend is cohesive, but a few notes stand out; vanilla, iris, and tonka are especially prominent. The sillage is moderate which helps ensure the vanilla isn’t too suffocating or heavy. The longevity is moderate. I bought mine from a reputable discount online retailer. So, if it’s too expensive, you can sometimes find it for a lot less.

My only wish is that this projected more strongly, but I layer it with a spritz of City Rhythm’s Frequent Flyer and that helps. The scent itself is absolutely beautiful I fell hard! It develops on the skin into a unique tonka, amber, and lightly floral scent on my skin and it’s utterly addictive, very classy, and makes me feel beautiful!

Complex, fresh and floral with quality, aromatic background. I loved the complexity and natural feel, but it did not pass a windy spring walk test - I did not feel a cloud of it projecting from my skin. It is more of an experience indoors.

Everyone who says it reminds them of Mon Guerlain... you are right BUT it actually smells almost identical to Mon Guerlain EAU DE TOILETTE which has been discontinued. That was more of a citrussy take on mon guerlain, exactly like this.

I personally get some pineapple even though it isn't listed. Personally I would say unisex/feminine leaning. I would wear this personally. Fall/Winter/Spring Imo. Last 8-10 hours with 3-5 hours of projection. 9.4/10.

Definitely going to be getting a bottle! Very soft and smooth, nothing sharp in this fragrance at all. Love the complexity of this fragrance, opening is good and dry down is fantastic!

It's difficult not to like this frag. I'd say it's an easy wear and very inoffensive. Projection isn't great, intimate to moderate. But it's warm and cozy. Very soft citrus with white florals, wrapped in a subtle vanilla. There isn't anything harsh about this, it really wouldnt irritate anyone, everything about it is soft and alluring, nothing jumps out to hog the spotlight, its blended so nicely. I really like it. It really reminds me of something but I just can't nail it, but a much more understated version of whatever it is. As it goes into the dry down it gets darker and warmer, loses the citrus and florals and its all Amber, sandalwood and vanilla, but still subtle. This is a very classy scent, but would need at least 6 sprays as it just doesn't project that well. I would wear this in the colder months and at night. I find it leans feminine but a guy could definitely pull it off. Edit.... It reminds me of Black Opium!

Bright vanilla and powdery iris. A very elegant, feminine fragrance that I purchased a small bottle of for a family member's birthday. Though it leans towards being a complex fragrance, it is well-rounded and not at all challenging. Quite warm and cozy thanks to the clove, sandalwood, lavender, tonka, and vanilla. 8.5/10

Definitely is similar to Mon Guerlain the same sweet floral lavender openings the iris isn’t too noticeable too me but there’s a tiny bit of powder. After that sweet blast this becomes a very intimate floral scent I only get about 2-3 hours, and unfortunately the drydown is very forgettable

Beautiful combination of the notes! It is a rather complex fragrance,the notes do blend rather well, apart the aromatic lavender I can not detect them individually. I like it not sure love it, but nice take on lavender !

The sample on tester strip paper was lovely, but from the full bottle on skin, I can barely perceive it at all. I am assuming there are some synthetics in here that I am noseblind to (I cannot perceive ISO E Super, and can barely smell ambroxan), which is a bummer. The bottle is so beautiful.

There’s a wet fruity-musky note that I find in lots of bathroom fresheners as well as Nina Ricci (the apple bottle) and Jul et Mad Nea, etc ... also has sugary vanilla note like in Flowerbomb, but stickier + maybe some Mon Guerlain lavender , but Argos is no Mon Guerlain - it’s going somewhere else. The pink pepper adds density (slight and on the verge of nutty). If you like any of those perfumes you’ll like Argos pour femme. I can also describe it like very sweet dried cranberries - what you can smell when are about to eat some and you open the bag. If I’m to go for a perfume in that style, I’d rather go with any of the following: - Jo Malone Green Almond and Redcurrant (interesting opening, gourmand, balanced sweetness) - Ojar Red Redemption (more astringent and like raw and slightly unripe red berries, more dry than sweet) - Kenzo Flower L’Elixir (very sweet red berry, caramelized with vanilla) - Zara Venice (on a budget and for layering) - D&G The One 2 (rounded in every possible designer way to fit most tastes) As you can see - Argos has aspects from Nea which I recommend as alternative , but don’t personally enjoy and from Nina Ricci, which I don’t appreciate I either. And whatever there’s to be appreciated to my personal taste, I can find it elsewhere - Mon Guerlain for the same lavender and the aforementioned list of fragrances for other qualities reiterating some of Argos’ desirable features but with added beauty. TL;DR: I don’t find Argos dislikable - I’m confident that most people will delight in it, but to me, personally, it’s simply not compelling enough to either use it or recommend it next to plenty of better options.

The lavender pulls medicinal on me. Overwhelms the other notes. Rub it on your chest if you have a cold...

Mon Guerlain knocks this out of the park. Not worth your nose tbh.

This gorgeous scent is available at The Scent Room in Dallas. What a breath-taking fragrance! It is indescribable how amazing it smells on a woman!

Argos Pour Femme opens on the skin with an aromatic blend of violet leaf, bright Italian bergamot, Moroccan lemon and Jamaican ginger balanced by the gentle sweetness of orange blossom absolute. The opening is a beautifully vibrant citrus explosion coloured green by the violet leaf with hints of ozonic freshness. Iris, jasmine, lilly of the valley and Bulgarian rose are warmed by clove and pink pepper, with just the softest touch of lavender that seems to disappear and reappear throughout the life of the fragrance. As the florals fade, a base of sandalwood, amber, vanilla and white musks add gentle warming sweetness to the final hours of fragrance. Argos Pour Femme is femininity personified. The fragrance radiates sensuality, luxury and elegance. This is the perfect fragrance for lovers of white floral’s or any iris aficionados. Perfomance is fantastic too. Flowers had always been important symbols for the him, but the Iris in particular opened a breach in his heart, so much so that in a letter addressed to his brother, he defined it as: "The lightning rod for his illness". Pour Femme is a fragrance that, at least on my skin, has Iris as the center of everything. The splendid flowers frame it, with a touch of pepper that make it wonderful and, if we wanted to transpose it as an image, it would be that of a woman with ethereal, elegant beauty, which leaves everyone speechless. Not sensual, well-dressed or in any way seductive, but beautiful. This is a very sweet lavender and iris perfume. It is almost like honey- I am surprised there is no mimosas or tilia in it. It is almost too sweet for me. I was hoping the lemon would bring a bit of freshness to it. However it is not unbearable. I will have to add my own citrus perfume blend. The lavender is lovely but I would have liked something a bit more aromatic than sugary. I usually love Argos but this doesn’t quite hit the mark. The packaging is top notch however.

I bought this for my girlfriend & she fell in love instantly. It's all she wears now! He first niche fragrance!! Finally after all these years I got her to admit some fragrances are worth every cent & then some & this is one of those frags. Lasts forever and smells incredible.

Hmm have you ever used blossom water when baking? The first hour or so is very much like blossom water. Then as it dries down it becomes softer and well rounded. I like the Drydown but don’t want to wait for an hour to get to it .

This is super beautiful with a light lavender freshness. Very natural and no synthetic qualities. A great every day perfume. It doesn’t last long though is the problem. I douse both arms and it disappears in less than an hour.

Bright and powdery.. hard not to like. I wouldn't say it's very complex - but sometimes you don't want that. If you want something that is not overwhelming that will make you smell nice, this is it!

At first spray, the lemon over powers everything...but as it dries down, the florals and vanilla start to shine. It’s quite light and refreshing for spring and summer months. Nicely blended.

This reminds me of Mon Guerlain but with a blast of pretty citrus at the top. Still, Mon Guerlain is more elegant, richer, and more expensive smelling- just superior in all ways.

Pretty perfume for sure but it didnt wow me. Lots of citrus up front which i could have done without since there is so many other warmer notes at play.

Considering I have 4 of the top "Smells like" scents, I'm guessing I'm going to like this one. Alas, these decants are breaking my bank!

Reminds me of Printemps Blanc. Pretty fragrance. Very girly and slightly sexy. A keeper but I own Printemps so won’t purchase this one.

To my novice nose, this smells almost identical to Mon Guerlain which is one of my top 3 for life.
