Bacio Immortale

This is such a great leather-fragrance. You don't get this boring farty-leather, because the fruity notes like bergamot, lemon and raspberry adds so much liveliness and freshness to the scent. The same should be said for the birch which is doing a very good job of supporting the leather leather both in body and mid. It's a leather-heavy scent and Argos knows this, so they've added a lot of notes that complement and support the leather, so it doesn't end up like a linear leather. To compare it to something people know, I'd say this is a bit more lively and bright than Tuscan Leather. If Tuscan Leather was a glass of Ardbeg in a cigar lounge, Bacio Immortale is that same cigar lounge but with a zesty cocktail. Both a great choices for a night out, but they carry different expressions. Bacio Immortale is a lot brighter without losing any of the depth of the leather. Absolutely great fragrance if you love leather . As much as I love the opening, the dry-down is what's really interesting to me, as the dry birch is mixing with citrus fruits, florals and it just has this "dry but juicy" feel to it, like when biting into a wedge of mandarin - dry on the outside but then bursting with a fresh juiciness. I personally, if I had a friend who would like to delve into what leather fragrances is, I'd start by introducing them to something similar to this. I'm still a pretty new frag head; I just got into this hobby a couple months ago or so. I saw Argos Fall of Phaeton in an Eau de Jarino YouTube video, and was impressed with the bottle. I looked up their website, and ordered the sample pack. I went through the sample pack and tried them, and Bacio Immortale was my favorite one, so that's the one that I've ordered a full bottle so far. I know now that Bacio Immortale is almost identical to Tom Ford Tuscan Leather, but I didn't know that at the time. I've sampled Tuscan Leather since then, and I do think they are almost the same. That doesn't take anything away from Bacio Immortale for me, since Tuscan Leather is way more expensive. The main scents that I notice in Bacio Immortale are sweet, tart raspberry, rich leather and pink peppercorn and some oud. The name, Bacio Immortale means "Immortal Kiss" and the nice box has a whole story about how it's inspired by the myth of Cupid. The bottle is gorgeous, and I just love the scent. It's summer here, and pretty hot, but I work in an air conditioned office, so I've been layering it with lighter summer fragrances like Jean Paul Gaultier Le Beau Paradise Garden or Louis Vuitton Pacific Chill, and sometimes adding a spray of something feminine, like Louis Vuitton Attrape-Reves. I think it really makes the more masculine fragrances pop.

Recently obtained a sample and it reminds me of Frapin's Checkmate in the dry down. The floral (prominent violet - but more like a powdery iris and not too sweet), fresh woods and delicate leather are beautifully blended. I would not describe this as a heavy leather or tar like fragrance at all - it's more a floral-wood, and more traditionally 'masculine' leaning. Also i'm getting a dry, stone-like 'mineral quality'... definitely a bit more going on here than the notes imply. Although the initial projection was weaker than others from the house (i have the sample pack) - it's longevity is very good and keeps rising and floating.

Was never huge into leather fragrances, but I got the Argos sample pack after I already found out what Trihmph of Bacchus Extrait was and when I smelled Bacio Imortale, I immediately said, WOW. (Same thing with Fall of Phateon, Danae and sacred flame) but this was different. Something I haven’t experienced before a pleasing, sweetness with leather a note I previously did not like. But this. A truly creatively balanced and well blended fragrance. This one is fantastic for events, formal or casual or a dates with the miss(es).

I mean yeah the Tuscan Leather comparison is certainly there but it is not a 1 to 1 at all. Tuscan Leather to me was always a very dark leather scent and the raspberry note was barely noticeable like a very very faint sweet note to the dry pungent leather, but Bacio has a VERY noticeable and strong berry opening that persists for a good or so before then fading to a Tuscan-esc leather. Personally I think Bacio is a more interesting, similar performing, and actually cheaper scent if you look more than a minute. Not bad
