My personal and humble Review of Love Triumphs Over War by Argos Love Triumphs Over War by Argos is a fragrance that truly encapsulates the beauty of duality, blending complexity and harmony in a way that resonates deeply with the soul. So when I first got this as a gift, my initial thoughts was "this is extremely feminine". I got a lot of rose and raspberry on the initial blast and really sweet. I've had it for 6 months now and every time I go to pick my scent for the day I smell this and like it more and more. I've been wearing it more lately and really enjoy it. Yes, Love triumphs over war is on the feminine side, but there is something in it that keeps me coming back. For guys if you like rose and/or sweet fragrances this might be a nice surprise to check out. I would recommend sampling this one.

Almost instantly gives off a soapy, woodsy smell. It’s got more of a citrusy immediate smell that turns into a smoke-y, clean cinnamon. It reminds me of an older wine cellar or colonial home that still has original fixtures but was cleaned recently. But the wood smell almost overpowers most others after a while. Definitely late night out kind of cologne. 4/5

Criminal for this to be rated so low... I’d give it 4.4 out of 5. The rose reminds me of POAL, but the raspberry, citrus, and cashmere makes it its own thing. Argos is a solid house...can’t believe they’re still slept on at this point. Bacio Immortelle is my fave from them.

I got this in a decant, as I'm reading these reviews I would say this fragrance is pretty contested. Personally this thing smells like a fancy Dr Pepper and thats exactly what other people who have smelled me have thought. It think its great def will get a bottle

This fragrance transitions so I’ll start with the first 2 hours. It opens with a dry fruity (raspberry) accord, with a light citrus touch in the background. The florals (rose) is not overpowering. The florals are well balanced keeping it about 60/40 masculine leaning. The Clove kinda balances everything out making it a very dry type of sweet that’s dusty making it easy to picture Aries fighting against the Aphrodite feminine sweet notes, so it’s constantly going back n forth. The mid continues with a masculine leaning powdery effect that’s more dusty than powdery (library section that is seldomly visited almost musky in a way. The dry down is where you get the hard candy effect making it a candied rose. If I had to summarize it I’d say: “Dry and Dusty (powdery) candied rose”. Occasions: I’ve worn it to the gym, I've worn it to boxing events, I’ve let my 5 yr old daughter wear it to school (1 spray, etc) to test longevity, but I find it out of place unless I’m in a suit because it’s so sophisticated, it’s more for special occasions and it does not smell like anything else, and I own portrait of a lady their two different lanes and POL is dense whereas this is intense. Projects easily for 4 hours, and last on clothes until the next day. Lasts on skin maybe 4 hours. Overall I would say for special occasions, dressed up with a suit or if a woman wants to pull it off, I’d say she is the professional type of confident boss.... In those settings this is a showstopper and unique, 3.8 outta 5, if the opening were better this would on the verge of a masterpiece. Still a unique rose scent!

I dogged on Love Triumphs Over War when I first got this and Birth Of Venus as samples from my Argos order and I MUCH preferred the latter. However, over time LTOW has grown on me and though it's still not a love, I definitely have grown fonder of this fragrance. Scent: If you've ever bought soap roses for a girl (or guy), the opening of this frag is basically that, soapy clean with an accompaniment of rose petals. Many notes listed but genuinely I don't get most of these notes other than that soapy rose and maybe a touch of vanilla in the dry down but it's definitely a beautiful and calming skin scent as well. Performance: Bang average performance on my skin. Unlike many others apparently, I get a decent 5 hours with moderate projection for the first 2 hours before it becomes a skin scent. Lasts decently long on clothes as I tend to spray it on my work clothes to get that nice, put together smell. Versatility: I feel like the temperature's got to be just right to rock this fragrance. Not too much heat or cold as it really lacks real freshness and warmth. Just a very well put together clean scent. Also leans somewhat feminine but I really don't care I just want to smell good. Scent: 6.5/10 Performance: 6/10 Versatility: 6/10 Personal Score: 6.5/10 Would I purchase a full bottle of LTOW? At its retail price, probably not, especially since Birth Of Venus still has this beat in almost every way but it doesn't mean that I can't appreciate the uniqueness of a nice, soapy and clean perfume.

Opens VERY intensely but quickly dies down to a moderate sillage. NOT a citrus, by any means. It smells almost like a bouquet of flowers sprinkled in soapy, laundry detergent. You start to really smell the flowers the day after if you spray it on clothing. The remnant of the fragrance is pretty intoxicating on clothing. Would definitely be way more attractive on a woman but I’m a man who wears it and I get compliments (usually up closer). I’ll never walk by and someone will get a good whiff of it. All-in-all, very nice fragrance. Personally I think it’s pretty unique and hard to pull off if you’re a man, but I could see this being a woman’s spring/summer signature fragrance.

Although this definitely skews feminine, I believe it’s still possible to pull off as a man. I blind bought this fragrance and I am a fan. I enjoy the rose and florals in this fragrance. But if I had to critique it, it almost smells incomplete. So I am looking for a layering combo—something deeper and masculine to add to this. Overall I enjoy this. It reminds me of a nice natural bar of soap that’s been handmade and has rose petals in the middle.

I've spent the whole day with this fragrance and I've come away from the experience a bit puzzled. After much consideration, I've landed on the most accurate way to describe it. To my experienced nose, the opening is obviously imbalanced in a failed-attempt-at-maximalism kind of way. However, after this rather memorable phase passes it becomes something less unstable. Imagine yourself exploring an antique store with a shelf of beautiful glass and crystal perfume bottles, the names of which have been forgotten or lost over the decades. One of the fancy crystal bottles has a dark reddish-brown substance in the bottom of its stained liquid chamber, the oily remnants of the evaporated perfume that it used to hold. Opening the stopper, you can smell a rich, dark, syrupy perfume, the notes of which have long since collapsed in on each other, hinting at a once beautiful and opulent composition. While not unpleasant at all, you can tell the perfume's identity has been lost despite its residual potency, which is a shame. You speculate that it would have been great in its heyday. This is exactly what Love Triumphs Over War smells like to me. It is trying to be something and I'm not quite sure what it is. Like the aged perfume oil in the antique bottle, it leaves me yearning to know what it was supposed to be, because something got lost along the way and it could have been great.

Opening is a great mix of raspberry, rose and tuberose. This does turn somewhat powdery on my skin almost right away. Within minutes from spraying (<5) I'm starting to sense some of the mid-notes like cloves and geranium, giving it a bit of earthiness along with its powderiness. It's a bit of a shame that, at least on me, I didn't get any other opening notes. Didn't smell any lemon or orange (not even just a citric undertone), or black currants. mid consists mostly of the earthiness from the geranium and the warmth of the cloves, which I'd say is pretty inoffensive, not something people would be put off by in most cases, but not really what I'm going for Down at the base, I feel like this is a recurring pattern in Argos, because it's mostly centered around the cashmeran and mysore sandalwood, making the base slightly creamy-woody, with a lot of powdery overtones, so it is not really for me. I got a lot of the same dry-down from Adonis Awakens, which ended almost washpowder-like. I think this powderiness goes better with the remaining warmth from the cloves, than it did in Adonis Awakens, but it's still not quite balanced in the base. would've loved if I could get more vanilla, amber, or even a bit more warmth to compensate. Inoffensive, easy to wear. Drydown is a bit on the powdery side, head notes are gone in a poof, but overall not really that outstanding.

I own a full bottle of this and to me, this fragrance is very well blended but can really be overwhelming The opening is really really sweet ( a mix of fruits and sweet florals ) and then dry’s down into a powdery musky scent 7.5/10

When I put this sample on I did not like the opening at all, very powdery/stale smell (could've been my skin chemistry). dry down is alright tho. A mix of vanilla and rose/fruity notes. 5/10 not blind buy safe

Tuberose dominant fragrance. Not nearly as complex or intense as expected, given the concept and ingredient list.

Rose and something animalistic. 7.8/10

This isn't it for me. I don't like rose notes, though I'm trying... but this opens too strong on the rose. It's so powdery it makes my throat itch. I can't pick up anything else for a lot of hours until it starts to fade and the base notes begin to show up. It has a delightful, delicately sweet fruity, musky vanilla dry-down by the time it becomes a skin scent – but it's not worth the 5-or-so hours of headache-inducing rose IMO.

On my cold skin the most prominent notes are clove and black current. Everything else is blended into a supporting background. As the scent continues to dry down, it turns into a smell of slightly rotten fruits that have been left in the sun for a bit too long. I love a good rose and I get none here. This is a no for me. Not a safe blind buy even for those who love fruity scents.

This is not. Repeat. Not a safe scent. I can find love for MOST of my 140 scents. This is a hard pass man. Even if I had a small collection. I can't even describe it. Too much going on, smells like some wacky ass bubblegum. I wouldn't recommend, but I'm sure somebody digs this.

Is it me or does it seem like every bottle is different all im getting is a little pitch of rose and just iris, if I wanted to smell like this i could've just bought some baby oil NO DIDDY
