Saturday

Apparently I’ll be one of the lone voices on here that actually likes this fragrance lol. This is the one in the Long Weekend range I was most nervous to try, based on the online reviews...surprisingly, it ended up being my favorite of the lot (tied with Friday, admittedly) and I now have a full bottle. I think this is just one that is very dependent on skin chemistry, so definitely sample before you buy. The unique bottle design and bright colors really reflect the contents here. Saturday is bright, cheery, happy, and fruity. As the name suggests, it is a great weekend scent. It instantly reminded me of the tropical fruit cocktails I drank on my honeymoon in the South Pacific. It’s a more unique take on a fruity summer scent profile. Saturday came across as the most unique of the Long Weekend line to me. Saturday also is extremely passionfruit-dominant. It really is a true-to-life passionfruit scent (complete with the indolic undertones that I can understand some people interpreting as “BO” or “rotting fruit,”) so if you don’t like passionfruit, you’re really not going to like Saturday. It definitely has that “fruit gummy” quality that others have pointed out. I will say it didn’t change or evolve much on my skin, so I continued to get the lovely fruity notes throughout the duration of wear.

I really didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I expected something linear or cloying since the top notes are all so sweet and fragrant. At first spray, I was disappointed– I got a weird, chalky-but-sweet smell with a hint of butyric acid, like a pink SweetTart. I couldn't register the passion fruit at all, which was disappointing because PF is one of my favorite fruits. The second and third times I tried it, I found Saturday so much more pleasurable. It's effervescent and fizzy (the fruits really bring out the best in each other, e.g. tart rhubarb and passion fruit balances out sweet peaches). For some reason, I also get a bit of juicy blackcurrant, which is fantastic since it's a fruit that really hasn't been done justice (Looking at you, One Umbrella for Two by Floraiku). Saturday is not juvenile at all, as the dry-down is graceful and becomes an agreeable, saffron that melts into the skin and makes you smell clean. I agree that it kind of smells like Byredo Pulp pre-funkiness, but both are wonderful and sophisticated in their own way.

I originally blind-purchased this scent simply for the fantastic presentation, designed for Arielle Shoshana ( I discovered after a little research) by a Brooklyn based studio called Wade and Leta. I love the big, bright colors and crazy dimensions - it's great pop-art all by itself. I also liked the concept of a fragrance conceptualized around a specific day of the week - something that I don't think I've run across before (they also make a "Sunday"). Fortunately, the fragrance inside matches the zest and fun of its' container. Passionfruit is clearly the dominant note here (and a beautiful, tangy passionfruit it is), but there is just enough iris and magnolia to tip the scales towards this being a slightly feminine scent - just barely. Some men would have no problem with it at all. Comparisons have been made to Byredo's Pulp (one of my favorites) because of the fruitiness, but Pulp is based in the danker green fruit and vegetable notes, while Saturday is much lighter with the floral top that Pulp completely lacks.

First of all, can we talk about how "perfumer Cécile Hua used a proprietary CO2 extraction technique to create the first natural passion fruit extract in perfumery history?" It's no wonder that this was the first perfume in the Arielle Shoshana collection, this is an amazing debut for the brand. One thing I find so interesting is that when you take a natural fragrance and extract and concentrate it, sometimes it can take on new qualities. I love passion fruit (I had fresh passion fruit with breakfast every day when I visited Vietnam) but Saturday goes beyond the familiar: this EDP smells somewhere between a mouthwatering fruit candy like HI-CHEW and a delicious sparkling passion fruit mocktail. The passion fruit note is present throughout the dry-down: it's tangy and tart and somehow reminds me of grapefruit, which I love. The rhubarb note marries perfectly with the passion fruit and I love how present it is in this fragrance. Overall, I'm very impressed.

Saturday has a little more "throw" to it than Sunday, but disappears more quickly from the skin. Which is a shame, because it's a really unique scent. I've never smelled passion fruit in a fragrance before, but it shines brightly here in an appealing mix of sweet and sour / tangy (the rhubarb keeps the fruit from becoming sugary). The passion fruit never leaves, but a sandalwood base makes itself known eventually. I'm also pleased to say that the iris in this fragrance behaves well (by my standards): normally iris / orris root turns into suffocating talcum on my skin, but here the iris takes on an earthy, subtle carrot quality. I don't really get any of the other floral notes, or vanilla. Edit: I tried layering this over Svensk Parfym's "Prakt," of which I have a deluxe sample. Prakt is longer-lasting and has an impressively vegetal rhubarb note, which the passion fruit of Saturday melded with beautifully.

This is one of my favorite perfumes and it brings me joy to wear it. Ever since I took a vacation in Hawaii, I've been seeking out anything scented or flavored with passionfruit. This perfume is one of the best ways to experience it. It smells natural and radiant, not synthetic or too floral/perfumey. I also love the saffron undercurrent, which helps keep the scent around for hours on my skin and definitely on my clothes. Although this perfume is compared to Byredo Pulp, I think it's juicier and more tart (in a good way). Pulp has an undercurrent of green bell pepper and is more of a blended fruit cocktail (which therefore smells more synthetic to me), so while it has a similar radiance, it's not as lovely and unique as Saturday. The 1.5 mL sample and 10 mL rollerball are great ways to try it out. I think this is a perfume that a lot of people will love or like. It is happiness and sunny days.

This is like pure joy in a bottle. It opens very tart and fruity, almost to the point of being a little challenging, and then settles into a gorgeous, rich passionfruit. The other notes that I smell most are the warm, woodsy notes underneath the bright, sparkling fruity notes. In that sense, it reminds me of a way more tropical Bal d'Afrique, with crystalline, gem-like fruits singing over buttery sandalwood and scratchy vetiver. The performance is high-quality. Great sillage and lasting power. On me, the scent remains fairly linear with the base notes gradually emerging more. This is a great grown-up fruity scent that is sure to make people smile.

I really love this perfume. When i came to Washington, i was looking for a place that sells niche perfumes... And i only found Arielle Shoshana shop which located around 30 minutes from my hotel... That is where I met the wonderful sales lady, and she introduced me to their signature scent, simply called Arielle Shoshana eau de parfum. I was blown away from the first sniff since passionfruit is not an easy note to find, and this perfume uses passionfruit as its main player, and it is still the leading note right to the very end. It's fruity and bright, yellow and happy, wonderful, and lasts more than 12 hours.

Saturday is such a captivating and vibrant fragrance that makes me feel uplifted, energized and chic all at the same time! The passionfruit and rhubarb in this are bold in the best sparkling way possible. This very well blended fragrance smells like nothing else in my collection. The dry down gives us soft woody floral creaminess, with the echoes of those punchy opening top notes of fruity goodness still there, which is how every fabulous Saturday should end.

This is a very nice summer fun scent. The opening is tart and juicy, and I can distinctly smell all four of the listed fruit notes. The passion fruit CO2 is lovely and is wedded to the warm, sunny spice of the saffron, cardamom, and pink pepper. There is a soft floral heart of magnolia which blends with a powdery iris, and it all rests on a comforting base of vetiver, sandal, amber, and musk, sweetened by vanilla

Pure happiness in a bottle. It begins acidic and fruity, almost to the point of being difficult, before settling into a lovely, rich passionfruit. The warm, woodsy tones behind the bright, sparkling fruity notes are the ones I notice the most. The performance is excellent. Long-lasting power and sillage. It's goofy, colourful, and cheerful. Beautiful. Absolutely stunning.

This is gorgeous! I bought this and am wearing it today. I can definitely pick up on the passion fruit and grape fruit scent and yes, it does resemble Escada's Marine Groove, but this has a more mature vibe to it.It also seems to morph into different layers, if you will, throughout wearing it. Absolutely gorgeous!

Great stuff, truly original...a citrus oriental scent that actually works...love passionfruit, which is the main player that is then mellowed out by oriental notes including sandalwood and vanilla...never loses the fruit as it develops...good deal as a huge 3.4 oz. bottle is about $135...

Saturday doesn't get enough love. I'll admit that the fruity top notes can be overwhelming for a moment, but the Vanilla, Vetiver, and Sandalwood dry down is reminiscent of Chanel No. 5 Eau Premiere (2008 edition) - not too strong, but feminine and classic.

Berry cocktail on a summer evening on a rooftop! I love this, this is a very interesting scent. But i think i still like “sunday” better.

I definitely see the comparison to Byredo's Pulp - this is like if Pulp had a more fun, bubblier sibling. It has the same almost 'muggy' fruit bowl qualities, but none of the near-rotten funk that Pulp had. I personally loved that about Pulp, but if you want the fruit salad fresh out of the fridge, you'll feel better off with Saturday! There is something vaguely heavy about this fragrance, like I said, almost a humid fruit quality to it. It definitely brings to mind the tropics, fresh passionfruit and mango, but not to the true-to-life zesty extent that something from Atelier Cologne or even occasionally Escada pulls off. Personally I love Atelier Cologne for their realistic and linear citrus fragrances, but Saturday is definitely a bit more complex. I smell a bit of sandalwood, a bit of spice, a tiny bit of florals (specifically iris)...and all of that makes it smell more like a fruity perfume than just a straight up bowl of fruit. Imagine Pulp, but instead of the musky funk and too-sweet near rot making it a "perfume", it is more traditional and universally attractive notes. Personally I really enjoy Saturday and would happily get a full bottle!

I typically try not to gender fragrances but this one is 100% for the girlies, it smells like a mango dragon fruit refresher and a little like dry shampoo. Saturday is a more mature perfume version of the body splashes I used to buy from PINK and Victoria's Secret back when I was a teen. The fruits in this are JUICY, almost mouthwatering. That tangy passionfruit note really lingers on your skin too, probably thanks to the rhubarb. My biggest worry about fragrances that are powdery is that the powder is all I'll smell after an hour, that doesn't happen with this one. The powder comes to the forefront more the longer you wear it, but this continues to smell zesty and fruity throughout the duration of its wear. I honestly like this fragrance the least from the three day weekend collection, its not as versatile as Friday but not as whimsical as Sunday. I do really enjoy wearing my sample though, it smells like sleepovers with your best friend on a Friday night, listening to One Direction, and getting dropped off together at the mall the next day.

Wow at first spray I am blown away!! I immediately smell a fizzy fruity cocktail of passion fruit. I am amazed that a perfume can pack such a punch at first spray and I am ready to party! It feels electric and energizing. It is such a huge leap from Friday but I think this perfectly describes a fun Saturday! Such a fun scent that really makes me feel happy just smelling it. There is a bit of an artificial note in the fruit, but I think this is done intentionally since this very much gives this scent the edge to remind me of a fruity drink or candy. I have not yet smelled a perfume like this before and I am very excited to try the rest of the “long weekend”.

Opens with a blast of passion fruit, then settles into a fruity floral that feels very feminine and young. It reminds me a lot of women's shampoo and body products that you can get at the drugstore (that Garnier Fructis vibe). But it does feel more elevated, especially late in the wear when the fruity notes fade and it mellows out considerably. I can't really pick out individual notes other than the passion fruit and a powdery note that must be the iris, and some musk in the base. It's a very cheerful, sweet perfume and not a style that I normally go for, but I really enjoy its bubbly exuberance.

sweet sour burst of juice you strange thing of passionfruit a daring delight this is the perfume equivalent of wearing a tropical print romper - it's silly and bright and happy. the opening burst is a delightful, unapologetic passionfruit, with a warmer, subdued fruit-tinted dry down. it's weird enough to be playful and interesting. perfect for vacations or any time you want to feel like you're on vacation.

I didn't expect to like this one as much as I do. It's sweet fruity and tropical smelling but not sour or overwhelming. Smells like a delicious tropical drink or candy but it's not too gourmand either. It strikes just the right balance between tropical and wearable. Smells like mango on the drydown on a card. I actually prefer Saturday over Sunday. -

Bright tropical fruits and citrus on top of a floral powder bomb that doesn’t smell juicy as much as electric. It’s unapologetically girly and over the top. This to me smells like if the Sofia Coppola Marie Antoinette movie was all done in neon instead of pastels. You have to love powder to like this but if you do, it’s a must-try.

I ordered a sample of this because I wasn’t sure how much I’d enjoy a strong passion fruit. Boy, was I mistaken though I am so glad they offer samples! It has a beautiful, bright passion fruit with a bitter green note on me- as though you are smelling the entire fruit, rind/skin/leaves and all. Lovely!

Got this and Sunday sampled. For me Saturday is way better than Sunday as I found Sunday a bit sickening. But Saturday is fruity and fresh! Was hoping for a bit more "interesting" notes and more passionfruit, so I probably won't buy a big bottle, but will definitely finish and enjoy the sample.

Party! Fun, tart passionfruit and rhubarb play over a fun almost bubblegum note. This is what I imagine someone would wear to Studio 54. Like a cocktail that tastes way too good for how drunk you are. This is to make a STATEMENT.

The top is SO sweet and fruity, but soon dries down to a nice balance between tart and sweet. I get no spice.

I love the passionfruit-- it's a very juicy opening, but that fades quickly. The drydown is also quite nice, lightly warm and cozy. The problem is I took a bath in it and it is gone in less than an hour. My husband confirmed this-- so it's not like I'm just noseblind to it. I really love the 80's style perfumes of my teen years, and so I guess my default setting is "I want beast mode!", but I'd be okay with a skin scent if it made it at least four hours. Sadly, this doesn't.

i wanted to absolutely fall in love with this one, as i'm obsessed with every single one of the base and middle notes, but the passionfruit is just too strong for me :( the peach and rhubarb turn overly ripe on my skin as well, and while it becomes more bearable as time passes, i'm not sure i'd reach for this decant unless i was invited to a luau perhaps... i prefer more intimate scents and this is definitely not that, but i can still see why she has such a following!

My sample might have gone off, because Ambroxan has taken over. Some people are comparing this scent to Byredo Pulp, and on my skin they behave very differently. Saturday is leaning synthetic, with a dominant Ambroxan, and I’m not able to pick out the passion fruit note; I’m smelling florals and sweet fruit notes, but nothing specific. I prefer the rice/tea notes in Sunday. I won’t down vote because everyone else is picking up the listed notes. review #1668

Not fruity. Does anyone else think this smells Chanel No 5?? Same accords as No 5. It's still lovely just not very passionfruit (I love passionfruit) . I think I like Sunday more; its more unique of a scent. Sunday is much lighter and less aldehydey/powdery/ floral compared to Saturday.

Hmm, it's fine. It's the most versatile of the three weekend perfumes, but also my least favorite. Not a whole lot sets it apart from other fragrances. If you want a safe but fun fragrance, this one is worth your time!

Saturday is powdery, fluffy, polleny, dense from the get-go. The closest perfume I can think of would be Guerlain's Cruel Gardenia, add a little bit of mustiness and also come sour rhubarb. Tested on paper.

This was an Iris bomb to my nose. I don’t mind Iris when it’s balanced with other notes, but it’s all I can smell in this one. Just a little too powdery for me.

Super sweet fruit opening but gets powdert peppery real quick. Something vaguely animalic and rotting in this too - can't pindown why but it's there.

Pleasant at first, more floral than fruity on me. Very disappointed with the with how long this lasts with my skin chemistry.

Saturday is the scent of overindulgence, of fun just about to go sour. The good: this is the most realistic passionfruit frag I’ve encountered. It’s pulpy, tart, almost overripe. The bad: the dissonance between the ripe fruit and the powdery iris. Something about the iris pulls neon purple, cloyingly artificial, and makes me think of a just-sanitized metro station restroom. The ugly: I think this clash makes the passionfruit feel spoilt, where I get this bilious, animalic tang. Like scrubbed-away vomit. On paper this looked perfect. I dearly wish I had whatever Saturday-yummy gene many others do. Sadly, my nose isn't wired for it. Mental Snapshot: Margarita night with the girls. They dare you into ordering the Fishbowl Challenge. It's passionfruit flavour, not half bad, with a curly straw and paper umbrella. (You win the challenge). (They hang your Polaroid above the bar). But somewhere on the sweaty, blistery-heeled stumble home you feel anything but a victor. You shelter in a 7-Eleven restroom, vowing to never taste a passionfruit again. tl;dr: tropical acid reflux 🍹🥴

I was hoping for something fresh and fruity, but unfortunately this was incredibly powdery and a little sour. It smelled like scented bath powder. I cannot understate how powdery this is. I'm not one to bring age to fragrance but I have a hard time picturing a person under 35 wearing this. I personally wouldn't wear it since my nose just isn't jiving with it, but I've heard that many people enjoy this. Nothing against Arielle Shoshana though-- Friday and Sunday are delightful!

The marketing and bottle of this are sososo cute and on paper this smelled AMAZING - I got passionfruit and peach and just enough booziness from the vanilla musk...like a Saturday night cocktail...but unfortunately on my skin it’s cheap gum and aldehydes in your grandma’s medicine cabinet. Or cat pee. My brain doesn’t jump there because there’s a certain amount of fruit but. Not nice. :(

I got a sample of this as part of the long weekend set. I wanted to love this... The notes sounded lovely & I hoped it would be the perfect bright, fruity summer-time fragrance. However, this was a scrubber for me. Very sour. almost smells like rotting or fermented fruit with something in the base that is giving cleaning product vibes.

I ordered this as part of the weekend sample set and, after testing, will never use it. It’s a very boozy, powdery, artificial tropical fruit smell with something that smells almost rotten to me as a finish. Just didn’t work on me— maybe for a teenager with the right skin chemistry. Immediate scrubber and not worth the price.

not sure if my sample has gone off or something but this is really awful to my nose, like an old christmas candle from tj maxx with a sharp overripe passionfruit note. really sad because i LOVE iris and rhubarb but maybe its my skin or how long i’ve had the sample but this just doesn’t work for me :(

I had such high hopes for this scent and unfortunately it was a hard no for me. The initial zing of passion fruit is lovely however like another reviewer, this ended up smelling like cat pee on my skin. So disappointing because it really is a lovely and upbeat fragrance!

I wanted so badly to love this. The notes sound incredible, and Sunday is amazing. Alas, it was a hard pass for me. Smelled like vomit and rotting fruits (and not the good rotting/overripe fruits like in Pulp from Byredo, which I love).

I expected a summery, fruity, tart fragrance and I could not have been more disappointed. It’s all sour and no sweetness at all. The scent is really similar to Friday, which I did not like at all - oily, soapy citrus.

If you are sensitive to cassis-like cat pee scents, do not get this! Smells like straight up cat pee on me. I can see where it's going but after an hour it's still so gross that I have to scrub.

I was hopeful this would work for me; it smelled lovely in the bottle. On my skin however, I only smell the pink peppercorn and maybe the iris. It just doesn’t work for me.
