#26 of My Fragrance Journey: Armaf Beau Star Blue: Inexpensive Ticket to Somewhere Warmer There are scents that promise escape - Mediterranean seas, golden light, waves rolling against stone harbours. Most of the time, it’s just marketing fluff. But every so often, a perfume really does it, pulling up old holiday memories you didn’t know were still there. But... Beau Star Blue actually gets close. Not all the way, but enough that for twenty quid, I didn’t feel cheated. First spray - sharp. Lemon, bergamot, those watery “blue” notes that smell more like the idea of water than anything real. Synthetic, maybe, but not in a bad way - like a postcard that’s been through the post too many times, edges curled, colours slightly off. You still know what it’s trying to show you. Give it a bit of time and it slows down. Lavender creeps in, and some herbs—nothing dramatic, but enough to make me think of a cooler breeze, that first evening in September, where you wish you’d brought a jacket. It’s cleaner, more grounded here, less holiday snap, more memory of one. The dry-down is soft. Woods, musk, a faint sweetness that clings close to skin. Not a hug exactly, more like the weight of a scarf around your neck. Comforting in its own small way. What I like most is how unpretentious it is. This isn’t trying to be art. It’s not a manifesto. It’s the bottle you can grab without thinking, the one that works whether you’re heading to the office, the gym, or just wandering down to the corner shop for milk. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need. No, it won’t change your life. But maybe that’s the point. At the edge of summer slipping into autumn, not everything has to be profound. Sometimes “you smell good” is enough. And Beau Star Blue does that.

Have you ever thought, "Man, I really wish I could wear axe body spray but not have to tell people I'm wearing axe body spray when they ask me." Then this is the scent for you! Only half joking, it's not that bad but initial scent brought me straight back to the boys high school locker room. The dry down is way better than initial scent, but it's not anything amazing. Light, citrus, ozonic, lake water, slightly sweet. Pretty relaxing. But yeah that initial scent is wild.
