Bucephalus XI

#1448 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This is what I call an "Aventus Adjacent Scent." Afnan "Supremacy Silver" and Armaf "Club de Nuit Intense Man" are intended to be accepted as dupes. Nishane "Hacivat" and Swiss Arabian "Edge Intense" are not supes, but intended to be similar enough that fans of Aventus will like it, as is this Bucephalus XI scent. But this is more for guys like me that love myrrh as a longevity and sillage enhancer in my scents. Yes I prefer this Bucephalus to all the above. Even if this and Aventus were identically priced, I would choose this Armaf because of the Myrrh, and if it had the missing Birch note that I love in Aventus, it would be an absolute slam dunk. Long lasting, good projection, masculine, but not so myrrh heavy as to be offensive in close spaces. I think it's versatile enough to wear anywhere for anything, just like Aventus. But of course it's a tenth the price of Aventus, which for me begs the question: "With all the great low-cost alternatives, why is anyone still spending $300 for Aventus? I sure won't.

This is a more versatile, fruitier version of CDNIM and less smoky. Fraghead Comrades that like the heavy smoke characteristic of Club De Nuit will feel like this is a water down / light weight version of it (but with higher price FYI). Although, my female friends (and myself) actually prefer this reiteration of Aventus DNA. The quirky bottle design may not be for everyone's taste. So, if that is a requirement then I suggest you look for Afnan Silver. BTW, there is another worthy mention call Ghala Zayed Luxury Gold perfume has the same type of smell, price range but include a lot more spice into the blend, check it out if you feel adventurous :D tata, mes amis.

Smokey batch of Aventus, almost no fruits.

SOTD This one flew under my radar years ago. Because the price was quite high ($40-$50), I waited until it dropped before buying. I'm an Aventus fan, and this one shares some DNA with the original and its dupes for sure. However, I agree with what someone said: it has a powdery scent compared to others. If you're looking for over 75% similarity to the OG, this is not the right choice.

Smells like CDNIM layered with Tahari Leather Oud. Not a fan of the slight powder I'm picking up. Armaf could put this juice in an Odyssey style bottle and call it "Odyssey - Upside Down" with a pineapple motif and market it as a Pineapple Upside Down Cake gourmand and I think it would work.

Not quite a fragrance I love, but better IMHO than Bucephalus X. The blackcurrant is really dominant and smells almost like pepper, I can see how this might put off many people. I can barely smell any other note with that. Longevity on the other hand is quite satisfactory.

Okay. Bucephalus smelled like diluted Club de Nuit Intense Man plus a dash of vanilla. There is nothing interesting here except the bottle, which looks like it will be Alexander's favorite. Longevity, unfortunately, like Aventus

Pretty unimpressed by this. It's a good scent but I was hoping for something a bit better. Cool, heavy-duty bottle though. I understand how some would dislike it though. This cologne is priced accordingly IMO.

My wife hated me when I wore this perfume. It doesn't look like Aventus at all. So I sold it immediately.

I'll second the review below, it's pretty spot on. This is a lighter, slightly fruitier version of an Aventus clone. I don't think it smells as similar (on the dry down) to Aventus as CDNIM does. However, it does have a softer opening as opposed to the lemon-heavy CDNIM opening. The one thing I find in common between Bucephalus XI and CDNIM is that they're both on the synthetic side, which is to be expected. I don't think Bucephalus XI performs as well as Aventus, and definitely not as well as CDNIM. Keep in mind the price point is higher than most Armaf fragrances and the packaging/presentation here is on the kitchy side. This fragrance is on the border of "like" and "okay" for me. I wasn't impressed with it, and I prefer the other more popular Aventus-like fragrances. (CDNIM, L'Adventure, MB Explorer, etc.). I haven't yet tried CDNIM EDP, Supremacy Silver, or the other clones to compare them. If you're looking for something like Aventus but less woody and smokey, if there is such a person out there, then this is for you.

I agree with what Dang Thai said below. To be honest, purchased this because it was Alexander the Great's horses name, which he rode into battle with. How badass is that? Reminds me of a mix between Creed Royal Oud, and Creed Aventus a bit -- and it's not all that strong, nor impressive to wear if it isn't in a very cold atmosphere. Is in the realm of an Aventus clone, name dropped and weeeee're moving on -- is a creamy vanilla vibe I get from this, a bit fruity, but no lasting power to speak of. It's sample worthy, especially if you're on the hunt for finding cheaper alternatives to the King.

What the hell? This smells exactly like Creed Aventus. And not only "similarly", like Explorer does. This is very, very close to actual Aventus. I was expecting something a lot more sweet with the vanilla note listed but just like with Aventus, there is very little sweetness to be found here, only tartness with a very prominent Black Currant note. Edit: Meh. The drydown does become sweeter over time but it's super synthetic. Another disappointment from Armaf.

This is not a aventus Clone, i get why ppl think it is tho cause it shares some notes, but its much more close to cedrat boise, think a vanilla heavy black curant that shares more likeness to Royal oud then aventus, so off your looking for s aventus Clone.....wich you should stop doing right now,stop...just stop..hrrmmh this is not for you, iff your looking for a cheap male vanilla scent this might be your thing

Nishane Ani mix it with smokey pineapple and oakmoss from Creed Aventus and make it slightly just slightly powdery That is what you get
