Ego The Falcon

I didn't like this when I got it... Was probably because I was misled by the notes and main accords (it has since been updated after I filled in my own information about it). Based on the notes I saw, I was expecting a freshie. But what I got from the first sniff was something much darker, without any freshness to it at all. Because it was completely different to what I expected, I scrubbed it off and didn't touch it again until today. Today, I gave it a proper chance and quickly realized that the keynotes and accords of this fragrance are: leather, leather, leather. Armaf Ego The Falcon is a leather-dominant fragrance. I have multiple leather fragrances, including Tom Ford Ombre Leather, Dior Fahrenheit, Spicebomb Dark Leather and others. It's nothing like the first two I mentioned, but maybe slightly like Dark Leather (although I believe this fragrance came out before the Spicebomb). If there is an original that this fragrance is cloning, I have not encountered it yet in my 250+ bottle collection. However, with so many fragrances in existence, it's possible that Armaf was cloning something. It's also possible, maybe, that this is an original fragrance. So, what can you expect from Armaf Ego The Falcon? A leather-dominated fragrance from start to end, dark, and definitely mysterious. There isn't a cleanliness to it in any way for me. Also, the bottle presentation is amazing, and it has a strong, solid magnetic cap. For pricing, I paid £29.74, so reasonable, but on the pricier side for an Armaf/Lattafa type fragrance.

Leathery pineapple is a great description of Falcon's opening salvo, but it fails to capture the dryness of this scent. It is in no way a gourmand. The list of accords at the top of this page correctly places fruity at the very bottom of the pile. The davana and rosemary that hang off the leather accord are simply gorgeous. Something this inexpensive should not make me this happy every time I put it on. I don't generally buy backup bottles unless I hear something I love has been discontinued. Less than a month after blind ordering my first bottle of Falcon, I eagerly ordered a second. Now I'm wondering whether I should get a third...

This is an alternative to Gissah imperial valley with a nice light pineapple and Cardamom twist in the opening. I have have the OG and can say this is an amazing twist with 90% closeness to the original with a kinda fresher touch making it even more versatile for the warmer weather.

Im actually suprised that NOBODY reviewed or mentioned this. This does NOT smell cheap at all. Not saying its niche quality per but an designer level, well blended long lasting leathery pineapple, davana fragrance for WAY less than $100? YES This fragrance is the reason i wasnt totally floored by Boss Bottled Absolu (which is still an incredible fragrance in its own right) In summary this a GREAT fragrance. If you have a local fragrance store that has arabian fragrances, swing by there and see if they have this. If you like it youll probably walk out with a bottle (or 2) lol
