Feroce

I've had this for about a month now. I crossed paths with Feroce, and it's two siblings, while I was at the pharmacy and I sampled all three. Needless to say, I adored the smell of Feroce so much that I quickly went online to see if I could find it cheaper than where I was at the time, and cheaper I found it. In terms of accuracy to the OG, I really can't say as i've only sampled it maybe once or twice in a department store in Sydney and I don't seem to remember liking it all that much at the time so, I honestly don't know whether my tastes have changed between now and then, or perhaps this has twists to it that the original lacks. Either way, I truly love Feroce. It's an incredibly masculine, sexy smelling frag with a lot of woody depth, some nice light lavender and just enough sweetness to tie it all together perfectly. The praline is just such a perfect touch that truly makes this frag as wonderful as it is. I don't know why, but I feel like this could be worn in warm/hot weather and not feel overly cloying, at least for date/special nights out that is. It's a really great performer as well, very potent stuff. It is of course early days for me as I only recently got this bottle, but even now it's giving well above average performance both in terms of sillage and longevity. As for the presentation, the packaging is very "bougey", the bottle feels very well made and nice in the hand (seriously, I really like the green and gold aesthetic) though I will say the "cap" is rather pretentious. I'm not a real fan of the strap "cap" thing that's going on here and, even after all these years with the massive, enormous growth of the Armaf brand, they still can only manage average at best atomisers on all of their bottles, even the most premium ones. The CDN line has the most shockingly bad atomisers and while the "Lion's Club" line doesn't have atomisers as bad as CDN, they're still not great and I have fragrances that either cost as much as Feroce at RRP, or less, with WAY better atomisers than this. There's really no excuse for Armaf any more on that front. Regardless, this is absolutely worth your money.

Feroce Armaf is definitely a very value for money purchase for anyone. It is an alternative for PdM Haltane. Testing this side by side, Feroce on my right hands and arms 8 sprays, Haltane on my left forehand 2 sprays (I had a few sprays of ofg neo on the lower arm to compare it to haltane and Feroce also) The similarities, the closeness 90-95% there. Haltane is denser, heavier. Feroce on the nose is not as heavy dense as Haltane and seems to have slightly more bergamot and lavender. Haltane has a denser dose of saffron. Others are very very minor and only very experienced and sensitive noses can detect, or you have been using Haltane so often that you know it and it's scent development inside out, these peeps will be able to tell you on more differences. This Feroce doesn't even cost 5% of what Haltane costs in retail. For the record, Mustafa sold his at sgd$22 and that's like usd$16-17. The presentation is higher end Armaf presentation with a solid box, a card that tells you about the scent Feroce. The bottle is solid and heavy but there's no cap, spray head is open with a magnetic strap like a hand bag on the bottle. All bottles under this like are designed the same. The magnetic clip can be loose so not sure how anyone can carry this around using the strap as it loosens and come out from the magnetic slot easily. Will be a good display bottle on any shelves though. I'm very impressed with Feroce being a Haltane dupe/clone/alternative. A stronger heavier opening notes of Haltane making Feroce not as dense but the closeless of it definitely is there at least 85-95%. It's a new line and I also have the other 2 alternatives and I'm looking forward to test them.

I’ve smelt PDM Haltane before and i really liked it, So i was looking for a dupe of it cuz it’s expensive and came across Armaf Féroce, And I will give an honest review. In the opening it may not really smell like haltane that much maybe 70-75% similar. After 5-10 minutes i couldn’t even spot the difference at first i was genuinely surprised for how similar it’s to Haltane only if you have smelt Haltane you would spot the difference, Haltane has some sharp oud or something that for me isn’t good like rubberish or tire-like smell but in Féroce it got rid of that smell and make the scent more smoother and easier to wear. But it doesn’t make a safe blind-buy, Performance wise i would say it has very good performance overall but it may need macerating for a two weeks. Overall it’s a very good fragrance for special occasions .

@pneuma333 My Eco is still maturing, I don't know how old were the samples of all three Armafs I received, three months, three weeks... who knows??? However, I did a simple test on two wrists and Al Haramain wins for now... hands down. The same is true for Detour Noir compared to Rugir from Armaf new line of PdM fragrance knockoffs. Zimaya Paragon is also currently better. The same with Fragrance World. Only Leyden by Maison Alhambra is rather below par. Of course, we'll check it again in a few months... because Armaf has just appeared on the market, it's fresh... so it will probably need time to mature. Then such a comparison will be more reliable. The price of these Armafs is so high (as for clones) that they should be compared with something similar in price. And here the closest is probably Orientica. I know the vast majority of Layton, Pegasus, Godolphin, Carlisle, Althair or Haltane clones... and in the so-called budget price range ($60-80) there are no better ones than Orientica. There is of course Alexandria, but their clones sometimes cost 70% of the original parfumes... and that's a joke. The entire Armaf series, including Feroce or Rugir, should undergo the so-called "home maceration"... at least half a year. And the same applies to perfumes from other Arabian brands - Al Haramain, Swiss Arabian, Afnan, Zimaya, Lattafa, Maison Alhambra, Khadlaj, Ajmal, Paris Corner, and so on, and so... I'm not saying that in 8 or 10 months Armaf fragrances won't become the best... but let's wait a few months first, see how they develop. Besides, Orientica itself also needs time, "maturation"... in the right conditions. To sum up - for now what I got in samples is average and definitely not worth the price. Detour Eco, similarly to Noir or Noir Intense (as PdM clones) are currently the best inspired fragrances in the price range of $25-30. Armaf is three times more expensive than them and in my opinion this is real paranoia. A terribly kitschy bottle (Detour is also terrible), opulence, like golden cages for falcons, indeed, one of the most kitschy Arabic bottles I've ever seen. Of course, I've seen much worse, but those weird ideas of Arab designers, those weird ideas cannot justify such a price. :)) It is the scent that should seduce us, scent is the most importal thing... the packaging should be just a worthy addition, but with humility, with unsophisticated elegance. Of course, I'm just only Eurocentric, that is my taste. Cya :)

I've smelt PDM Haltane only once a whole year ago, and it was essentially sweet praline with a prominent rubbery oud (clean oud with a minor rubber nuance) to my nose. My memory isn't reliable here, but I'm pretty sure this Armaf has the oud tuned down, and the praline tuned up. It's quite a noticeable difference. Basically a more mass-appealing version but, as a result, it is less masculine and has less character. I prefer the OG because the oud is a primary component to this DNA - reducing it is reducing the essence of this DNA and 'designerfying' it. I'll look for a clone more accurate to the DNA (there are many clones). Also, this bottle's closure strap is ridiculously stupid, further dissuading me from the Armaf clone. No cap means no intermittently sniffing the atomiser for enjoyment or to remind yourself of the scent - you'll need to spray it to smell it. When you have a cap, the tiny bit of fragrance liquid left on the atomiser nozzle evaporates within the cap, providing you scent when taking the cap off. For this reason alone, it's well worth it to endeavour to buy bottles with caps. I'm unsure whether the entire Armaf management are mentally deficient, or if their consistently stupid bottle designs have some greater strategy behind them because stupidity at this scale is hard to believe (I'm referring to how the CDN bottles have stubby atomisers that spray onto their high atomiser collars and drip down the bottle; how the Odyssey line sprays onto the wide body; and how this line has a strap that gets in the way of putting your finger on the atomiser).
