Odyssey Eau de Montagne

After the first spray and expecting something icy and fresh due to the name, I was hit with a blast of Almond milk served with a sprinkle of cocoa, and a hint of vanilla, alongside some creamy white florals in a vase and a dash of baby powder. I was at first repulsed as it smelt kind of weird, but thirty minutes later it softened out and I was Hooked, and I was getting all these notes that I mentioned, two hours later it was a skin scent on me but I kept sniffing at my arm like a mad person, because this scent had me enamored, needless to say I went back and bought two bottles of it as it was on a buy one get another at 50% off. Needless to say I'm now patiently waiting for winter to arrive so I can spray this on my sweaters so that I can bask in it's calm soothing, almost paternal kind of scent, that evokes comfort and care. Last 8 hours on my skin, but is a skin scent from the 1st hour, though I suspect it may get noticed by people in close proximity, if not well I can enjoy it's soothing aroma in blissful solitude. 9/10

This is my first Armaf and I must say, I am impressed! Got my bottle today and sprayed 3 times on my forearm, I could see and feel some greasiness - a very good sign IMO. I wholeheartedly agree with the commenter that said it smells like a more polite, refined Blanche Bête. The white floral note makes it a dainty fragrance, sweet and charming. It's definitely a perfume for colder weather, so my bottle will get a chance to macerate before it's time to use it and I cannot even start to imagine how good it's going to be. I sprayed at about 10am and it's now 7.30pm and it still smells quite strong on my skin. I can't imagine the lasting power on clothes! The price is average for Middle Eastern perfumes, I think I paid £34 for a 100ml bottle. For a fragrance of this quality it's a reyt bargain.

This is clearly Armaf’s take on Blanche Bête by Les Liquides Imaginaires. It has that same milky, slightly smoky profile with a soft, clean woodiness running through it. It’s translucent but not weak, a kind of cool, ghostly presence more than a loud statement. It performs surprisingly well. Long-lasting on clothes, with a projection that becomes more noticeable over time, especially when smelled from a distance or in the air around you. Not for everyone, and definitely not for high heat. It leans more introspective and moody than mass-appealing or flashy. Unisex, good for the price, and a nice change of pace from Armaf’s usual DNA. I do love this DNA which is supposed to be a dupe for Blanche Bete. Since I have never been able to smell the original I cannot confirm or deny. BUT, I’ll tell you one thing; it’s exactly the same as Her Confession, Lactea Divina and Grecia. You do not need them all. But I’ll keep this one because to my eyes this is the one with the less tacky bottle.

The name is quite misleading, "Eau de Montagne" or Mountain Water in English kind of implies a fresh or aromatic fougere DNA. Nope. The best way to describe this fragrance is having a latte in a flower shop. It's a gourmand/floral hybrid, very creamy and milky with a pleasant floral accent to it. You'll find distinct notes of almonds, vanilla, flowers, sweet milk, vanilla, cocoa, sandalwood and musk. This is great for female users of some ages. A man could get away with it, but it will take quite a bit of confidence as this leans quite female. Performance is great and the "thermos" bottle as always is cool. Great stuff here, just quite a bit misleading overall if you don't look up first what you're getting into here. Recommended, especially for female users.

Delightfully creamy, identifiable scent. This fragrance is full of surprises. At first sniff, you'll likely think this is scent is milky and soapy, and it kind of is. The almond and lactones are definitely front and center. It put me off at first, but it grew on me. Once your nose adjusts, its very reminiscent of a lotion, but sweeter, and yummier. Vanilla is playful in the background, but gives room to have it's "almond milk" character. Performance is good for the Odyssey line. I could smell on my arms for about 8 hours. Projection isn't very strong, but I think it fits for the scent's profile. It would be hard to recommend this scent as a blind buy. It's very striking and different. But if you're a collector and are looking for something a little different, it's a good pick. I'm sure it's not the first of its kind, but couldn't find what it's is supposed to be a dupe of. Longevity: 8/10 - Projection: 7/10 - Overall: 7.5/10

This smells like a beautifully scented baby! soft, creamy, and lactonic... With a touch of sandalwood and spices. On my skin it leans Blanche Bête without tuberose, less smoky, less sweet, and with a small but long-lasting scent bubble. At first spray on paper though, it reads like a mix of Vanilla Sex and Blanche Bete. The creamy almond with sandalwood and florals points toward Vanilla Sex, Sensual Vanilla, and Sehr, but without the heavy sweetness or spice. The slightly smoky lactonic vibe connects it to Blanche Bete/Her Confession, just in a gentler way. Overall, it’s the “good girl” version of those louder, naughtier perfumes. Clean, polite, and very wearable. Personally, I find it a bit too safe and redundant since I already own the bolder ones, but it’s undeniably pretty. If you like almond and lactonic fragrances, this is worth sampling. You might love its soft elegance.

This fragrance has gotten me compliments from the best noses in the world. It's a unique fragrance with a mix of green aromatic spice blend, with a creaminess bolstered with a strong almond note. It's an acquired taste due to its uniqueness - not many fragrances can own this DNA. For the connoisseur of fragrances. For the ones who want to stand out. For those who want a fusion between fresh and gourmand. Grab this as soon as you see it available because, it might not be something you can wrap your head around in the first sniff, but you'll most definitely regret not getting it few days down the road. Trust me on this.

Creamy nutty and sweet. It leans feminine, but not too far. The performance is quite good with the scent lasting 10 hours. Projection is strong as well.

A 1:1 dupe for Blanche Bete??? Hell no! Keep looking! lol first spray it’s giving synthetic chemicals nothing remotely close to the fragrance it’s supposedly made to smell like. I’ll update in about a week to see if the fragrance has changed but, right now, it’s not good 👎🏾

I don’t really get much florals, but I do get a lot of powdery notes.

This one isn't quite what I expected. I like it, but I think I'd like it more as a candle or a room spray, maybe? I think the lactones note is throwing me off on skin. It sort of smells like...rice? Jury's still out on if I'll actually wear it. Again, it's not BAD, it just may not like my skin. Might not be for me. I'll say that it's fairly light. It isn't an overwhelmingly gourmand vibe at all. Sweet without being loud and saccharine. ETA: This one grew on me after sitting for a couple of months. It seems like the lactone note smoothed out and smells much better blended than before.

I appreciate ssaminn's and smellycat's reviews. I am a royal baby wrapped in white silk, levitating. Although pleasant and safe, it's a powerhouse.

It essentially smells like the generic cheap version of kids Pepto Bismol from the 90s. Couldn't even smell like real Pepto Bismol sheesh.

I was hoping for more florals and creaminess on first spray im only getting sweet oud... ill update after it sits for awhile
