Odyssey Homme

#344 in my "Tour de Fragrance" First of all, I love this scent. The reason some people think it's similar to Dior Homme Intense is, I believe, the very prominent iris note. That is why I bought the Dior Homme Intense, Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male and Le Beau, Amouage Interlude Black Iris, Prada L'Homme, Prada L'Homme Intense, Prada Luna Rossa Ocean, Givenchy Gentleman EDP Reserve Privee, Givenchy Gentleman Eau de Parfum Boisee, Bvlgari Man in Black, Creed Green Irish Tweed, Armani Code Parfum, Valentino Uomo Intense, Versace The Dreamer. You could add an iris note to cat poo and I'd probably buy it! I know this about myself. Now you do as well, so view this review as the ravings of an addict who just got a hot load of his favorite drug because I love this stuff and can't stop smelling myself! It's odd how many people think this smells like Tom Ford Noir Extreme or Mercedes Benz Select Night, because those two frags smell similar yet distinct to my nose, and this fragrance has no trace whatever of the citrus both of those fragrances feature in their openings. It certainly smells nothing like Spicebomb Extreme which was so nasty I tossed it in the trash. But my theory, based on reading hundreds of these reviews, is that some people cannot distinguish between certain florals, so they don't notice the difference between a lavender, a jasmine, a lily or an iris note. Almost everyone recognizes Rose, but otherwise they just smell "floral." I've raised and tended a wide variety of flowers throughout most of my life, and the various floral scents elicit different emotional responses from me that I am sure are rooted in sense memories from places like my mother's garden, my lakeside home in Spanaway, my house on Puget Sound, my riverside condo in Irvine all of which were a riot of scent and color with an endless variety of flowering plants. At one time or another I've had dozens of Iris species growing around the properties, and of all the flowers, they were always my favorite. Some very happy memories of those places, and the strong Iris note of this fragrance strongly evokes those good times. For that reason alone it's a keeper for me! But this is also just a great fragrance with great projection and longevity. And for $35 you aren't taking much of a risk with a blind buy. But it is definitely EDP in strength, and I mean real EDP, so go easy. Overspray and you'll regret it. And I would say the same of most of the fragrances with an iris note I listed above. Even the irises in my garden would sometimes give me headaches. Overspray something like Dior Homme Intense and if you're subject to migraines you'll be down for the count. One spritz.

Odyssey Homme EDP 1/2024 batch One word for this scent profile is just Wow!! This would be a scent that designers would charge you 100 plus dollars for. It opens like vanilla coke float with a tinge of spice quite sophisticated if you ask me, the opening is quite nice and sweet while retaining a good quality. This lasts for a couple of minutes and leaves a nice silage around the area where it has been sprayed. Once the opening dries down that's where the real magic takes place now the mids developing here is a dry tobacco sweetness with oriental spices, its complex but well blended and smells like sophistication this makes you want to smell this again and again while it invites you to come closer. The quality at this price is astonishing TBH. It will remind you of a dark rich indulging vanilla pie with spices rounded off with amber like syrup sweetness not cloying in anyway, the balance is great. You cant really pull apart ingredients here because the blend is so smooth. Now there are a few resemblances here with Tom Ford noir extreme where I do agree this is 70 to 75 percent similar, while TFNE has a bit more of a spicier edge and this perfume will remind you of Spice bomb extreme with the tobacco and spice combination. Now coming to the performance i have been left wanting a bit more. It lasts for around 4 to 6hrs and gives a moderate silage for the first 2 hours then sits close to your skin, but if there is some breeze then you will get this scent to open up more. PS: Its a must have from my side, Enjoy!!!

This and coffee Break are 2 of my favorite pickups for 2024 as I’m in LOVE with this juice !! Odyssey black opens up with a cherry cola,spicy but also semi sweet powdery vibe that is kind of familiar to a lot of popular scents but also kind of unique as well ! As the scent dries down it gets less sweet but more powdery and smooth as that Iris kicks in and you’re left with a warm,inviting,cozy scent that is very pleasant and appealing!! I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback from this one and I’d say it’s going to become one of my most complimented scents in the very near future !! Performance on this is perfect for me as it lasts 8-12 hours and projects pretty noticeably but is never beast mode or overwhelming. If your office allows fragrance I’d say this would be a safe bet. However I’d say this is ideal for going out as it has some appeal to it and ladies seem to love this one as it’s a nice balance of fresh,sweet and spicy. I’ve never smelled Tom Ford Extreme but I can say it’s kind of similar to spice bomb and Spicebomb extreme (this is much less intense and more subtle) Overall rating -9 out of 10 ! 9 out of 10s are only reserved for my faves and this has easily become one of my favorite scent profiles and the fact that it’s cheap but smells expensive and performs definitely works in its favor

i really dont get people that say this is similar to dior homme, maybe just maybe if dhi was overloaded with vanilla yeah but it isnt. It opens ultra sweet and you might get reminded of 9pm or ultramale at first with that kind of bubble gummy smell but this one is more chocolatey bubblegumey, then it dries down to nice spicy powdery vanilla, i get iris even if its not listed, so chocolatey iris, vanilla, cardamom and sandalwood, its not as heavy as other vanilla fragrances and its great for the price, really good. It goes more into jpg le male le parfum direction than dhi, but u get traces of dhi, its not clone of dhi, not at all. And idk how tf noir extreme smells, you might also get reminded of spicebomb sometimes. I gotta note tho that it comes sometimes more woodier, or more sweet and syrupy, or it has great mix of woodiness and ambery vanilla, sometimes more iris, Really its a lottery, now i sprayed it and came more woody, but last time i did it came like perfect blend of woods and vanilla amber with iris, so yeah if u like polarizing scents great, not linear at all. Its always good tho, idk what u after, but great winter scent

I have liked Tom Ford's Noir Extreme when testing it, but not enough to spend that much coin on it. So, when I saw Odyssey for a steal, I sent for it. Early impressions (I'm wearing it today). It smells like TFNE, but softer, and not as harsh. I almost want to say it's "inspired by" rather than a straight clone. When TF is on my skin, it smells darker and bitting. Odyssey announces itself as well but with less abrasion. Keep in mind, I still find that Odyssey is a strong scent. I normally do three sprays of cologne (under clothes), sometimes two sprays if I am choosing a beast mode projector... I should have done just one spray with Odyssey Homme. It is strong. It's been three hours in, and it feels like I just sprayed it. My nose has yet to go blind to it. I like the scent - a lot. I am very curious to see how the scent will mature in storage until next winter. This is definitely meant for winter/cold nights in Spring/Fall. Also, I see the notes don't list tobacco... but, I smell tobacco. It's the sort of "sweet tobacco" that I get a note of in Insurrection II Wild. Call me crazy...
