Odyssey Tyrant Special Edition

Decided to get this after smelling this on someone who walked past by me a few years ago. I also had a decant of this before. I suddenly feel the need to get this because of how I realised the mass appeal of a DNA like this. I wanted something that isn't too crazy in terms of being screechy. I have smelled OG Sauvage, but not Tygar. Perhaps only smelling Tygar-like DNA through its dupes. This is bold enough to be Sauvage, and light enough to be Tygar. First 2 hours? Tygar. The rest? Sauvage, but less soliciting. Grapefruit really nice on the first 2 hours. And this fragrance for being released in 2023 is strong as heck. Dries down to woody vetiver that I enjoy. 1 spray filled my room, making me noseblind easily. It can handle heat too, because of its light nature. As I said, bold but light at the same time. People will think this is Sauvage, or Tygar. A good blend I might say. Office worthy, casual worthy because of the grapefruit, and still retains that badboy energy, although a bit toned down. This thing still rocks nowadays, seriously. Especially in Southeast Asia where people use local-made fragrances and not imported goods like Armaf or anything else.

As noted in my CDN Man EDT review, Odyssey Tyrant Special Edition, CDN Man EDT, and CDN Iconic all share a very similar overall DNA — making owning two, let alone all three, feel somewhat redundant. That said, Odyssey Tyrant is arguably the most distinct of the trio. Unlike the other two, it has no mint note; instead it leans fruitier and spicier, with grapefruit leading the opening and pepper adding character in the heart. Performance-wise, it is also the strongest of the three, though not by a dramatic margin. If pressed, Odyssey Tyrant is my personal favourite of the trio — likely because I am drawn to its stronger, longer-lasting fruity character. That said, this type of scent DNA has probably been done to death across many fragrance brands, so it may simply read as safe and uninspired to more seasoned fragrance enthusiasts. Overall, all three are highly wearable and would suit most men well. The main issue is simply that their functional overlap is substantial enough that owning all of them may not feel particularly worthwhile — unless you're a dedicated Armaf collector or running a social media channel on clone fragrances.

Odyssey Tyrant Special Edition Armaf Opened this up and wore it. It opens with a very nice grapefruit and citrus, but the opening is very short lived, at this point it reminds me of Tygar and Bdc Edt. However the grapefruit and cirtus goes off fast and the heart notes starts to dominate quickly, at this point my nose tells me this smells more like a hybrid of Tygar and savage edt, perhaps due to the notes and the ambroxian I'm not quite getting the Vetiver yet but the ambroxian is there, there's woodiness and cedar but seems the lavender, pepper n elemi is rather dominating.. My nose gets Tygar/BDC in the opening and then becomes Sauvage Edt/Dylan blue kinda dna. Still remains much woody cedar ambroxy lavender scent as it goes to drydown. After 4-5hrs it's a skin scent but still with that Sauvage drydown dna. This was never anywhere close to CAHS like some video said. No way it's anywhere similar to CAHS. I do not know why I'm getting something smelling like a Sauvage dna for this since they already have a Similar franker that is a Sauvage alternative apparently

I’m really starting to appreciate the Odyssey line. Not all are hits, but performance is generally excellent—Limoni being the exception. This one easily lasts from morning until evening on skin, and even longer on clothes. The opening is bright and appealing with grapefruit and citrus. The transition, however, introduces pepper and spices that can feel a little sharp on first wear. With a bit of time to mature, the composition settles and becomes much more coherent. It develops into a strong, masculine scent with a smooth woody dry down that feels quite refined. There is a slight synthetic edge in places, though it is not long-lasting or overly distracting. I’m not familiar with Tygar, which this is apparently inspired by, but there is a faint Sauvage-like character in the background. That said, I actually prefer this. For around £30, it performs and smells well above its price point. It draws compliments, but it is best not to overspray—4–6 sprays is sufficient. 8/10

Wearing this a few times I have a few things to say: 1) It is its own thing - you can pick up elements from fragrances like Tygar, Sauvage and maybe others, but it is its own thing... It is a good , versatile blue fragrance 2) This is insanely strong! My bottle has a weak atomizer which works in its favor - I barely do 3 thirds of a spray and I can smell it around me easily the next day even after taking a shower. It is easily one of the strongest fragrances in my collection. If you can't smell it - your nose is dead from how much you sprayed (and I have fragrance of which I do up to 30 sprays, so I am not light hearted in that regard) 3) I tried going with 4-5 full sprays and it smells bad when sprayed too much.. If you do less, it smells like a modern , classy fragrance (just my tip) Hope this helps! Cheers!

I think this is a hybrid of Tygar & Sauvage because it doesn't smell like one or the other directly but you can pick up both scent profiles easily and I get that all throughout, specially the opening and mid. I'm no fragrance expert by any means but the fact that this one smells like a combination of two of my favorites its a winner for me. I've had it for two months now and I can say that the scent profile has gotten better with time, with the opening feeling more balanced. Its not a beast but projection is 1.5 to 2 hrs, sillage is above average and longevity is 6-8 hrs so I won't complain for $22. I give it 8.5/10

Hoy estuve probando varios perfumes entre esos el CN man elixir, el intense(demasiado para mi), el mandarin sky y este Odyssey Tyrant al final me decidí por este, creo que va de la mano en la piel pues aquellos los sentí intensos para mi pero este tiene el toque justo y correcto de tranquilo pero con la esencia citrica marcada que resalta sin ser intensa como el Mandarinsky, proyecta bastante en la piel aunque en la ropa marca aún más y se siente al rededor, te hace sentir bien como relajado sin llamar tanto la atención, bueno la verdad.

I like the woody bitter grapefruit here. My younger brother showed this to me a few weeks ago and I liked it quite a lot despite the similarities with Sauvage, which I already had. Something unrelated to the smell of the fragrance, but I also like the sparkly/pearly look of the green plastic on the bottle, and the shades of green with the gold accents lol This one is a very solid 7/10, but abit redundant if you already have Armaf Ventana.

Good masculine scent, smells clean and lasts for a reasonable time. I rotate my fragrances according to their best season/time of day and the help of AI for randomness, and this is one I always find enjoyable and go for it when it is drawn. This is not the case for every cheap/inspiration/clone/dupe scent I own. So there's that.

You can never go wrong with this one, it's cheap but smells expensive fresh and manly. 4 sprays is enough, in my office I get a lot of compliments with this perfume and surprisingly it last around 6 to 8hrs. And sometimes 12hrs if the climate is cool. Just a piece of advice don't over spray this perfume.

This one reminds me a lot of dark door sports not tyger or turathi blue. Very sharp and bitter/shour citrussy opening with the spice coming from elemi and black pepper. Very linear too. I can see this will be appropriate for summer day time casual outing. Very good projection and sillage as well. 7/10

Just got this and sprayed immediately to check it out and was pleasantly surprised: it has indeed sauvage dna with a fruity sweet twist. It's nothing ground breaking but it is definitely a mass pleasing blind buy safe perfume that works best in hot weather. I give it a 9.5/10.

Bold and sexy. I like how fresh and aromatic it is. This is also close in similarity to Rue Broca Theoreme. The only difference is the citrus in this one doesn't stand out as much. This is a decent day and night wear, preferably for summer. 7.9/10.

I like it. It has a clear, fresh citrus scent. It's easy to use for any occasion, but it's perfect for summer. And I can't think of anything to wear out of the house.

Good scent but needs months, not weeks, months of maceration..... Kind of a bummer, but it so cheap and smells so good.

Natural orange juice with hints of lemon, and a woody dryout, my kind of fragrance!

As if the fragrances had already been layered for you and put into a single bottle. In the case of Odyssey Tyrant Special Edition, this comes across as a blend between Acqua di Gio and Sauvage with hints of Invictus. This is a good blend of citrus, floral, spicy, woody and musky aromas and has most prominent notes of citruses, lavender, black pepper, vetiver and cedar wood. Do note that there is definitely Ambroxan in the base which may irritate some noses and is an overly familiar scent to most fragrance lovers these days. This is a great scent overall, which will go well in cooler weather and during outdoor activities. It's useable by all ages and performs extremely well. Presentation is the usual cool "thermos" bottle of the Odyssey line. This is not unisex, women may find it too masculine especially once the strong ambroxan and woods take over. There's a ton of citrus and fougere fragrances on the market and even a few original hybrid originals and clones. Still, this is a great get if you're looking for a citrus or fougere to add to your collection. Recommended.

I'll try to keep it brief regarding this fragrance. I started collecting perfumes over the past 5 years, typically focusing on Arabian fragrances. I was thrilled when I saw it being compared to Turathi Blue and Dior Sauvage; based on the reviews, both longevity and sillage seemed promising. First impressions: it doesn't have much to do with the Turathi/Tygar line. It has a sharp, citrusy opening, and the geranium hits your nose right from the start. After that, a slight orange undertone appears and stays throughout, though it reminds me more of a fizzy orange soda. There is a woody character in the background the whole time, and what's truly surprising is that I get a tiny hint of oud that lingers for a long time—maybe it's just one of the woody notes, but it's definitely not a refined one. Overall, it feels a bit synthetic, but not in an unpleasant way; you can just tell they didn't set the bar very high regarding the quality of the ingredients. For comparison, Turathi Blue plays in a completely different dimension and class. Obviously, it's a bit higher in price, but Turathi is well worth that few dollars difference. You can't complain about the longevity; it easily delivers 5-7 hours on the skin. However, the sillage is low—it can be projected well within arm's reach during the first 2-2.5 hours, but this is definitely not a "room filler" fragrance. After that, it remains a skin scent until it completely fades away. My Verdict: Scent Profile: 7/10 Sillage: 6.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Overall, considering its price category, it's not a bad buy at all, but for a few dollars more, there are better options out there; despite this, it's a very wearable, cheap summer fragrance, and it won't break the bank if you don't end up liking it because the price is so good.

I won't waste space by telling folks what cologne or cologne combo this fragrance smells like. I'll tell you about my experience with this. I sprayed this on before heading out to a technical related lecture. The kind of lecture that I would look out of place in. Yes, I'm a geek like the rest of the guys in there, but it doesn't show on the outside. The first spray was a blast of freshness for me. Synthetic, of course, but what would you expect at this price point? The blast muted down to something more manageable and pleasant. It was a nice spring day with a little wind. I stopped at the gas station for a drink and had someone a car over ask what was I wearing. This showed a bit of wind assisted project. Sillage was top notch as evidenced by the moderator of the lecture coming in, stopping, and standing next to me only to say "so you're who we smelled." Tn this lecture, a few guys brought bored but supportive girlfriends with them who picked up a scent. Finally, at the end, I was approached and asked "for a friend" what I was wearing. Longevity-I hit this about 4:00 pm. It stayed strong through 9:00 pm, and I still have a whiff of it now. Projection-8 of 10 as it was smelled a car over Sillage- 7 of 10 people in the intake area knew that someone was wearing something good.
